    I must say this was the best explanation of the game thus far. The "official" video just confused the crap out of me. Well done.

    Could not have survived our first game without you ! Yikes, didn't expect such complexity from a Disney game. We found it hard, so focused on our own villain, to keep track of the other villains's strategy or what we could have done better. But once learned I'm sure it will be much better. Thanks again, love your style.

    Thank you, we almost gave up on playing. We read instructions and then watched videos to figure it out... It wasn't until watching yours that we feel confident enough to begin game play. THANK YOU for being so in-depth!

    Very good video. Extremely comprehensible, and in-depth! Thank you so much for posting this. Unfortunately, when looking for how to play, the first video shown is the Geek and Sundry 4 minute video, which is nowhere near as good at explaining the mechanics as you are. Thanks again for the awesome video! Keep up the good work.

    Question about actions: 1) How often can you perform them throughout the game? Like, does it mean you can only perform an action in a location once the whole game or only once when you go there? Like for example I go to a location get power points, play a card, and then end my turn. Can i not go back to that spot later and do it again? 2) Do you get to perform every action in your location once in your turn or are you limited to one action per turn?

    • @LearntoPlayGames
      @LearntoPlayGames  4 роки тому

      Thanks for watching and for the questions, So each time you go to a location you can perform the actions at that location in any order you want and can choose to complete any or all of them. Now you do have to move to a different location each turn and if a hero covers the top part of a location you can't do the actions the hero is covering. Please let me know if that answers your question if not I can try to explain it differently.

    What a great video! Thanks a lot for this! I do have a question about vanquish. It is possible for a hero and allies to be on a location for a while? And they can only be defeated when a player can use a vanquish action?
    I hope I have explained my question well enough.

    Great video, thank you. My family just got this game and we found some of the end goals a bit confusing. For example, Malificent must start the round playing a curse at each location, or something like that. Does that mean that in one turn. She needs to lay 4 curses or all slots need a curse and then go one more round?
    Would it be possible to make a quick video explaining some of the funky cards? Maybe focusing on the end goal for each character. We figured a lot out as we played.... but some cards left us confused and guessing. Ursula was another one that had tricky end goal and unclear cards.

    • @LearntoPlayGames
      @LearntoPlayGames  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks for watching and for the questions, so lets start with Malificent her goal is start your turn with a curse at each location. You will be working toward this goal throughout the game trying to play one or more curses during your turn once you have a curse at each location you will need to make it another round so that you begin your turn with a curse at each location. This give others a chance to stop you from winning by removing a curse if possible. Ursula works the same way you will be trying to get the trident and crown to her lair during your turn but it only counts as a win if you begin your turn with both items in her lair again needing to wait a full round. Please let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

    The card moving ability. Can you move it to any location or just to the space next to it?

  • @theflamekid
    @theflamekid 2 роки тому

    Thanks for the video. I just started playing and I have some questions. For Jafar, can he move the lamp before genie is hypnotized? When I read it, it's like you have to hypnotize it first but I had some discussion about it.
    For prince John. If king Richard is in play, can he use effect cards from other realms fate Decks or not?
    For the realms with a lock, once unlocked, is there a way to lock it again?
    Edit: other question. Let's say Wolf archers are in play. They can be used to attack and adjecent location. Can allies at the same location be used?

  • @shazam2323
    @shazam2323 Рік тому

    some locations seem way more beneficial so like with prince john, couldn't you go back to the oasis every other turn and keep accumulating 3 power each time?

    • @LearntoPlayGames
      @LearntoPlayGames  Рік тому

      You could but that is where other players come in and have to play character cards on that location to make it less beneficial to you. Thanks for watching and for the question;)

    Getting ready to play Villainous Sunday with some friends. I am not a card gamer. I understand Monopoly, Life, Sorry and such. But this game seems complicated and Russian to me. I even can get by playing Clue: Harry Potter. But this Villainous I have no clue.

    • @LearntoPlayGames
      @LearntoPlayGames  4 роки тому +2

      I can see what you are saying and the best advice I can give is that each game no matter how complicated, is based on a number of basic mechanics that when put together create this experience. With Villainous start out by focusing on just your character and understanding the mechanics of, by placing your figure in a space you can do the actions on that space in the order you choose. Once you get that down focus on the goal of your character and how by taking those actions you can work towards that goal. Than add in the element of being able to affect others in small ways by playing heroes from their deck which will impact them and gives you opportunities to move ahead. There is nothing wrong with breaking down a game and learning parts of it than building on that. Even a game like Monopoly has some complexity to it, you have gotten past that point now so you feel comfortable with it and it seems easier than it was when learning it. Hope this helps and if you have any questions please feel free to ask there is a huge collection of great games out there just waiting for you to find them;)

    I am tempted to buy this game, does it matter which one I buy. Meaning the one with 6 characters or the expansion packs. Im just asking which I should buy!

    • @LearntoPlayGames
      @LearntoPlayGames  4 роки тому +1

      Nope each one can be a stand alone set so I would say go with the one that has your favorite villains. I have videos up covering two of the expansions as well breaking down the basics of each villain. The only other factor is player count if you only want to buy one the base game can go to 6 vs the expansions at 3 each but you can also combined expansions to get higher player counts;) hope this helps and thanks for watching and for the question.

      I still have a hard time thinking of Star Wars as Disney but it is. Thanks for commenting and that would be a really cool one to do have an artist do cartoons for the cards. Thanks for commenting and for watching may the force be with you;)
