Watching you guys work reminds me of working in the garage with my friends or when SCCA was running Nationals at Mid Ohio. Watching amateur teams do repairs between races.
My thoughts exactly - reminded me of local SCCA events but the work done in those parking lot is of higher quality. Note to self - never work with these guys.

Man I recently got a chrome cast and just put this series on and it's like having grade A tv thanks, guys.
I just used a flat head screwdriver with a huge shaft to spread the spindle. no material lost!!
I love those 5 spokes! I have a set on my MK6 Jetta Sedan after I ruined two wheels and tires with a pot hole last summer. The look works one these cars.
Really hoping those TTS calipers will fit under my 17 hypergrams!! Loving this series though, best one yet I think!

Unfortunately having overkill brakes on gravel won’t help you stop faster.
Stock is plenty for slippy gravel , id concentrate more on suspension travel and durability over anything else.
Suspension durability is often overlooked , rally will destroy stock suspension components quickly.

Sorry if I missed this, but what headlights are you using?
Seems like the Golf VII has a snap ring on the axle like some older C4 and Typ44, or they don't lubricate the teeths anymore from factory. Because if they don't they slide out really easy. At least at the Audis I workd on, 300.000+ km and before 2000.

Where on the sub frame are you putting the floor jack to lift the car before you put the jackstands on?

i jack right in front of the dogbone mount. wouldn't suggest jacking on the control arms
Would love to know this too as just bought a real jack rather than the cheapo one I had.

That same axle thing happened with my b6 A4, and my lovely a4 cracked the screen of my lovely iPhone XS
"project car" it's a brand new car with zero rust/hidden surprises..... you'll be okay.
That's a salvage car they purchased this as a project car. Seems you don't know anything about the car's history hahahaha. It was sold as is and the car was total wreck, it's a 2017 car so yeah it's almost a brand new. I guess you skipped the day it was delivered to them, you should watch that before you comment here :P

Could you put that spacer on top of Coilovers and crank the coils up for more lift?

You guys were using the TTS brakes, bit I was wondering if for my 2018 Alltack, if GTI PP / Golf R brakes would work & if the dust shields would also bolt up?
yes pp gti brakes and r brakes will bolt right up

Hey guys, I was thoroughly entertained by this video. I think Nathan needs to man-up and stop crying about his traumatically amputated pinky though. When you guys finish this project, I'd like to see you drag race it against a completely stock Audi Allroad just for comparison. Which car would win?

Unless they do some major turbo and tuning upgrades, there is zero chance it'll beat an Allroad. Owning both, the VW just can't compete.
Guys that's a horrible way to lift the suspension! You going to end up with horrible bump steer and accelerated drive line wear.
What headlights are those? Can you get them without the red line

@@lucasi3827 They are probably aftermarket GTI headlights, because real ones do not light up both "U" shapes. They might be Ed's replicas.

I love when you guys complain about the tiniest amount of rust on your cars... I'd take a Colorado car over a rust belt one any day...
haha here in sweden you get that rust on your car if you just leave it outside for about 3 days xD
