You realize the only reason Aspinall has the interim title is because the fight between Jones and Stipe was postponed due to injury, right? The Stipe fight was booked long before anyone gave a damn about Tom, and now, people expect Stipe to just step down from his fight because Tom can't wait his turn. It's absolutely stupid to think the original fight should be canceled just because Tom says so. I can almost guarantee this is what's going to happen before Jon retires: He fights Stipe. If he wins that, he fights Tom. If he wins that, he fights Pereira, and then retires at 30 fights, 0 legitimate losses. If he loses to Stipe or Tom, I don't know what he'll do, but assuming he wins each fight in turn, this is what I see happening.

@sucraf1 i dont think 3 years away after a KO loss to Francis Ngannou is going to bode well for Stipe. Stipe didn't look all that good in that fight. He seemed slow and hesitate. Now factor in ring rust and age..... only thing that may help Stipe is that Jon has been away for about a year and a half recovering from injury and hasn't really been tested at heavyweight endurance wise...... if Jon is pushed into later round maybe Jon fades ......if he hasn't been working on those picograms. I expect Jon to try to attack Stipe with his oblique kick targeting the knees, keeping Stipe at range and trying to set up a high kick, which even Francis was able to catch Stipe with.
