Lost Nation is highly overlooked. Its a fantastic album. Mars Bonfire has always intrigued me, but I don't recall ever seeing it in the wild. I'd pick it up if it was cheap enough. Definitely an amazing stage name haha. Os Mutantes! Still need to pick up the reissues. South American rock has a different sound that is incredible. I'd love to find that Nektar album, its hard to get in the states. ✌
Some pretty cool finds there Derek. A friend has an original copy of "Art Of Lovin' " album, but won't part with it. The Mars Bonfire album looks like it washed up on the beaches in Maui, where Mars got involved with Merrell Fankhauser back in the 90's. There's a short Merrell/Mars interview form Merrell's "Tiki Lounge" TV show on Y.T. He also did some stuff with Sky "Sunlight" Saxon, and Ed Cassidy of Spirit.
Yeah, I have a friend too. I always joke about trading him something way less of value for it haha. I've actually spotted that clip with him & Merrell.
@@PsycheDerek. You might wanna check out some of Merrell's "Tiki Lounge" episodes. They're pretty fun, with guys like Ed Cassidy, John Cipollina & Nicky Hopkins amongst others appearing on the show. It's a little cheesy 'n cool at the same time.

Never saw that Art Of Lovin' boot - I do have other Mainstream "exact repros", though and quite satisfied with them - especially the "Pot Of Flowers" comp and The Superfine Dandelion red vinyl repro! ...Haven't seen the Mars Bonfire LP in ages... I do have a few Nektar LPs in my collection now but cannot remember which ones. One was a double LP. I don't think I have the LP you showed, though...
Nectar is great I saw them way back in the day I'm really old I bought that record when I came out and I have almost all of the records they're fantastic live

Mazzy recently talked about that Mars Bonfire album. He showed the Columbia version. He also mentioned it sounding like a bunch of demos. My local store had an original of the 2nd Oz Mutantes. The jacket was paper thin. It was in good shape but it didn’t really do it for me.
Did you hear that Sundazed is doing a Mainstream reissue campaign? Supposedly they sound good and are being done by Kevin Grey. They released December's Children and a few others so far this year but I haven't picked any up yet, waiting for Growing Concern or Art of Lovin
Hey Derek have you ever listened to the st Frampton and Beebe album on Omaha's Rocker Records? I was blown away that it was released in the mid 80's, has some very psych-ish moments.
Why 45 RPM? Supposedly it will have better sound at that speed, like 12" singles. Lost Nation, I seem to remember that they are related to The Unrelated Segments who did the cool garage track "The Story Of my Life" in '66. Yeah, good album!

George Jefferson (Sherman Hemsley) of the Jeffersons, was a big prog rock fan. He wore a Nektar T-shirt on the show.
