Very good point, I was going to say. I believe that that Kookie is telescoping with his hand the future, but the future of his character that has a heart breaking story of his family deleting his existence, pushing him out of the family, the way tge camera hold him staring at Suga is so emotional I was surprised that our lovely reactor didn't comment on it. It is like Kookie is considering his future close to Suga; as a friend I mean. Like considering to build a new family with friends as his family rejected him. That's why is so heart breaking what is coming in "Run" with Suga ( though for so different reasons that Kookie family) 😪.

Someone probably already told you by now but in case they didn't, the CEO of BigHit (HYBE) has a degree in Aesthetics besides being a music composer and producer, and I am almost certain he sought a videography team with the same (or perhaps even went to school with) Because LUMPENS, the main producers of BTS music videos, seems to really connect with BTS members, story, lyrics, context, color brought into cohesion with their aesthetics.
And he study aesthetics in one of the big 3 universities ( SKY: Seoul, Korea and Yonsei). I think he study in Yonsei, for sure one of these 3 which are the top, like Harvard in USA or Cambridge and Oxford in UK. Bang PD has an eye for talent he discover Lumpens ( Yongseok Choi) and work all the way till present with him. He did not just developed BTS talent also other staff: Slow Rabbit (producer), Son Sungdeuk (Choreographer), Adora( producer) PDogg, Supreme Boi...

Throughout the video Jin is holding the camera, recording, and taking polaroids because In the storyline he is the one who really holds the memories close and he's the one we see the story's perspective from. He's the one who watches the boys and tries to bring them together. And the beach is where the boys took their first photo together in the story, and Jin looking at the photo with just him in it represents how eventually they all separate and are by themselves left with just their memories. (Sorry if this didn't make much sense I have a hard time translating thoughts into words) also if you're interested in the storyline UA-camr xCeleste has a video on it.
I second xceleste video for a summary after you watched all the videos, she puts the story together nicely and in a way that is easy to understand. The storyline is detailed in a webtoon called "Save Me"

Yes, it does feel super nostalgic and nostalgia most times points at something you wanna go back to. But realistically they're not (and I personally am not) in that stage of their lives anymore. They're in their late 20s with only jungkook being under 25 but he's getting there lol. It's nostalgic bc for people their and my age (I don't wanna assume yours so I apologize) it would feel forced and dishonest and even a little silly for them to talk about the anxiety of coming into your youth after being a teenager bc that's not them anymore. As much as I A D O R E the HYYH era their transition into love yourself felt much more authentic and relevant and I'm so glad despite them finding their ultimate success with both of those albums + wings (a damn masterpiece on its own) they didn't get stuck in that and became what they are today ❤️ Sorry for the long ass paragraph Im conflicted a bit bc I feel you so much about missing the 2015 times (you bet your ass I cry my eyes out whenever I hear the beginning of butterfly 😭) but as I said I also appreciate how much their growth as people helped mine and love the albums that came next, even if hyyh remain as some of my favorite

Just a minor detail... At the beginning when V is calling someone, he uses the word hyung. It means older brother and is used by a male to an older brother. (A girl would call an older brother oppa). It does not have to be a biological brother; it can be an older friend. V calls Jin, Suga, RM, and J-Hope hung. Jimin was born the same year as V so they are the same age. Jungkook is the maknae, the youngest. The Cat does not make an actual appearance in BTS' videos, but does appear in their online game. Do watch the credits and all videos to the end. Not just to appreciate everyone who worked on it, but frequently there is more footage or hint/teaser. I know you will get lots of people telling you to watch explanation videos. Watching the explanations is like looking at the answer key of a crossword puzzle when you have only started. Seriously, what is the fun of that??? There are a number of theories out there. xCeleste is a popular one. Unfortunately, IMHO, many ARMYs believe that her theories are the only correct ones.
Yes I agree, explanation videos should be after he finishes watching the whole storyline. There wouldn’t be much of an experience, and it’s enjoyable for us as well to see what his theories are!

But honestly, who thinks is the valid explanation if the girl takes a lot of time at the beginning of the videos o explain that is just her interpretation as valid as others and that in any case Big Hit reveal so far any rights or wrongs neither any official interpretation at all!!!!
I watched the explanation first because I wasn’t actually planning on delving into the universe in detail myself (really only because I was overwhelmed by the amount of media it was spread over yknow. videos, Mvs, notebooks, webtoon, game, etc I thought I’d never get to it all so I would miss out on important storyline) but I wanted to understand it for future and past videos…but then I got hooked after watching the explained 🤣 and started the whole universe from the beginning. Yes, but guys please don't confuse him, we must follow the order of the storyline to help him to follow up and make sense every sequence. So next is "Run" and after the wings short films. Try not to ask randomly as it will help him some order.
1. The guy with the camera is Jin. He is the oldest member. He's with a camera because of the storyline. In life, the youngest member JongKook loves filming. There is a video of him on UA-cam (GCF). 2. Pairs of guys are also very important in this story. The BTS Wings Short Films are a very important puzzle piece for you to watch now after the prologue. There are seven of them and they are numbered in order. They are each a few minutes long and are full of symbolism and as a film editor you will absolutely love them!!!
I really wish you read their webtoon "Save Me". Then everything makes so much sense and you will understand why it was only him in the polaroid even though Suga was there with him in the frame.
V or Kim Taehyung (the guy at the beginning) is an amazingly talented actor also. Loved his acting as Han Sung in "Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth". His last scene in the show was sooo well done. I hope Taehyung does more acting in the future.

You are correct in noticing someone was missing from the photo. Suga was originally in the photo. Jin now realized the universe has changed again so he will be going back in time to try to remedy the actions that will bring everyone together again.
BTS LOVES and i mean LOVES to hide clues in everything, and you never see it at first and when you do it suddenly all makes sense. As far as BU goes, it is a story, not a story on the band, thus why they are not directly singing the songs or dancing to the song, its basically the background for the story they are trying to tell. Also the BU is extremely detailed, and something they have worked on for years, that include many forms from a webtoon, to short films, live concert footage, notes detailed inside separate physical albums, and a notes a book.
This prologue video always makes me feel so emotional and it gives me a bittersweet feeling of nostalgia *sigh and with butterfly playing at the background just makes me breakdown

15:30 - in the storyline "Jin" take videos and pictures to remember In the story he time travels to make everyone's lives right (he tries multiple times but something always goes wrong ,someone always dies) but then he realizes that he has to sacrifice himself in order save everyone( NOT BY DYING , but by not meeting them *not existing* ) that's why his not in the picture , his basically erase from memory ( their memory of being together)

This is honestly the start of the confusion for us back then... it was such a ride lol That end clip where only Jin showed up the photo has us screaming what the heck is happening is the story line. lol Anyways, thanks for reacting to this. I really like your comments about the cinematography, lighting, etc. I know nothing about those stuff but watching your videos are kind of a learning experience cause I get to know bits and pieces about filmmaking. Also, I agree with what you've been saying whenever you watch their shooting sketches. While I like seeing the boys behind the scenes, I would also love to see how they build the set, the way they film the scenes, the camera movements... idk. It just makes me appreciate the MVs more, actually seeing all the work that was put into it.

I like your analogy on the movement of light in the first scene and it really never occurred to me how beautifully it was executed to help bring out V's emotion. I love your reactions! Keep them going! I love seeing people make their own assumptions and seeing it from a different point of view. Btw I think it will be easier for you if you know their names because in the story they are sometimes paired up into duos that help each other and there's a lot of hidden meaning.
I have been listening to.BTS for last 5 years but I never delve into the.BU story line just because it sounded so.complicated and I just didn't have time then. Glad I m watching all the storyline with you here in order with behind video and client section. Thank you for doing these videos :)
Hello! Idk if someone has already mentioned it but there have been 2 versions of ending scene. The 1st one was deleted(but youn can find it on UA-cam) and 2nd ver,.was uploaded. Thatwas done because of storyline, BTS has done it with other BTS Universe related things as well e.g. Smeraldo shop blogs(you will find about Smeraldo when you watch Highlight reels). Spoiler on the bottom. It was done for time travel concept.
Their storyline is so deep, and so relatable to the youths. It's very complex and very well executed. I love your videos and thank you for diving deep down to their old videos.
When you keep asking little tidbits, it makes me want to tell you the answers 😅 but then I will be spoiling the plot hehe. It’s so fun to see you explore this universe. It feels like I am reliving it again. We would put every single frame, every single prop, color, symbol, everything under detective microscope and every little thing turns out to be placed purposefully with an intended meaning. Jin (for reasons you now know) started losing his memories throughout the BU probably because he had to keep going back into the timelines, and all the knowledge he was gaining, anyways he starts losing memories so he starts keeping a diary, and filming videos and taking photos to remember everything that happens in the current timeline he’s in and what happened in the past timelines!

i'll just add the storyline here cause bts universe is a gem In 2015, BTS began their second era with a mini album "HYYH pt. 1" or "Most beautiful moment in life part 1" and "I Need U" serving as the album's title track. The music video for this track shows a story of the seven members in an alternate reality, depicting their anxieties and uncertainties as they confront their futures. Following this music video, multiple pieces of content were released in this era and in their third era. Due to the popularity of the fictional universe, Big Hit Entertainment named it the "BU", or "BTS Universe". BU guides you through the story of growth, loss of innocence and venture into adulthood with BTS growing up themselves, and connecting them to the albums they created. it is independently produced by Big Hit Entertainment and based on characters inspired by the members of BTS (not their real story tho). The franchise has expanded to include short stories, books, a webtoon and a visual novel. In the future is planned to release a drama of the franchise. "Seven boys. Best friends. Their fates intertwined through the good times together, but also the tough times, as they have gone their separate ways and suffered greatly as a result. When all is almost lost for these boys, one is given a special chance to go back in time and help his friends fix the mistakes that led them down this path. He’ll do anything to save them, but can he? Or is he too late?" - this was the plot summary of the webtoon they released a couple of years ago. in brief, namjoon's character worked at a petrol pump and was harrassed by customers, jin's character is the protagonist who goes back in time, in a loop, to try and save his friends, but there's always a link he misses (we got to know all this as the story progressed from 2015-2020 through albums and releases). yoongi's character had his own remorse of not being able to connect with his first love, the piano, and some other stuff like- he was related to jungkook, who tried to get him out of a lot of trouble ( i can't really put it into words- but that explains the scene in the RUN video). hoseok was diagnosed with narcolepsy, and met jimin in the hospital. hoseok's mother left him as a child with a snickers in his hand in front of a carousel at an amusement park (which explains the snickers and toys in the fake love mv- his biggest fears) jimin was left in the hospital by his mother after he witnessed something in the arboretum that mentally affected him. taehyung had an abusive, alcoholic father who regularly mistreated his mother and sister, and he ended up killing his father and living in the remorse (behind story of the heart-breaking song "stigma") and jungkook had tried to take his life, and succeeded at it- if it wasn't for jin's time loop. (reminder that all this is non-canon, fiction) it's pretty scary and intriguing at the same time...the BU... they like drop random stuff all the time that connects. To this date, 2021, they drop stuff that connects and this is one thing that makes the experience 10 times better. also, if you could process this, i would love if you could check out the 7 short films they released for the “wings” album- they're all on youtube, and pretty short videos but VERY impactful. I love that you're trying to understand what's going on, but also just completely geeking out over the aspect that you love most. That's wonderful! Here are a couple of details that may help you: 1) The color purple was made important to BTS and ARMY due to an interaction between the two at a concert. It has nothing to do with the BU, but does later come into quite a few of their songs when the song is directed towards ARMY, or is about the relationship between ARMY and BTS. (see We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal and Stay Gold). 2) It wasn't mentioned on this one, but it was on another one, so I wanted to address this: Most of BTS' songs are not about an actual relationship. 'Girl' is is usually referring to ARMY or to BTS themselves (such as in I Need You). Their earlier works are a bit of an exception as they were exploring the concept of adolescence, which included young love. This isn't to say that the songs aren't romantic, or cannot be interpreted as such; however, I know that ARMY will probably be in your comments correcting you later if your interpretation every song as 'Oh! This is a love song about a girl.' It'll get annoying fast, I'm sure.
I am SO SO SO glad you took the time to check at the end of the video if it was really over or not! Sometimes people assume that it’s over and they miss that very important final scene with JIN looking at the photo. You’ve just learned something really important….that you need to watch every BTS video to the very end because they frequently add “hidden” final scenes! After you’ve watched RUN and YOUNG FOREVER, the next MVs that were released in order were FIRE and SAVE ME, which round out the end of the HYYH series. So make sure you watch these too! (They also have important little tidbits at the end!). After that you’re ready to dive into WINGS. Just make sure you have your seatbelt on because this is going to be a crazy ride. One thing you need to keep in mind is that time is NOT chronological in the Bangtan Universe. You will constantly find yourself going back and forth, repeating things, seeing familiar themes again and again, so don’t expect this to be a smooth, one event follows the next as in the usual passage of time. That does not happen here. For example, one thing you will see again and again is JUNGKOOK walking on a wall with his arms stretched out. You may remember this from the end of I NEED U, and you saw it again here in PROLOGUE. Keep it in mind as it is important to his character’s story. Also, you may have noted that the boys are frequently seen in pairs : JK and SUGA, RM and TAEHYUNG, JHOPE and JIMIN. JIN is the central character in the BU, so he is by himself. He is the one taking Polaroids, filming the boys, etc. The reason for this will become clear in time. Some people in the comments have wanted to give you more information than you really need at this point. It’s hard because they are excited about watching you react to the storyline and they want you to know everything right now, but it’s really more fun to learn things organically and try to figure things out for yourself instead of just being spoonfed everything and told important things upfront. I mean, that’s the way we had to learn everything, as we had to wait months and months in between releases of MVs, and the storyline was revealed a little bit at a time. It was so frustrating but at the same time so very exciting! The videos in the BU storyline require multiple viewings to really take everything in and notice every little detail. They are full of mystery, clues, multiple possibilities, haunting details, and common threads that run through every video, connecting the boys’ storylines. The explanation videos created by xCeleste are masterworks in telling the BU story from beginning to end. She really has done an incredible job and her videos are priceless in explaining to us what is actually going on. But I recommend waiting until you’ve just about completed the entire series before you watch her videos and the SAVE ME WEBTOON. Otherwise you’ll learn too much too soon and it takes all the enjoyment out of trying to figure things out for yourself, and you seem like the type of person who relishes the opportunity to decipher clues and tell the story on your own as it is revealed to you. I’ll look for the link to the formal BU content list, which will be really helpful in making sure you watch everything in order and don’t miss anything. If you have any questions, I will be glad to help you as well as a few hundred other people that are following along with you! The Bangtan Universe is really fun and exciting, a big part of what makes BTS so unique, with amazing cinematography and storytelling, great acting by the boys, and fantastic music wrapped up in it. And the best part is it’s still ongoing!
Fun fact there’s actually a glitch in the video that didn’t show up until two years later. Towards the end the music when it hit the BIGHIT symbols the music sounds like it’s shutting off but if you see in prior reaction videos when it came out the music is different.
From what I heard and from what I understood from the song, butterfly is about loving someone who is sucidel as from on of the lyrics saying something like "I'm afraid if I touch you you'll disappear or break" like when you touch a butterfly's wing you hurt it . And Tae I think is the sucidel one that's why he jumped off
I love your reactions and hope you keep whaching and learning about the BU and eventually get to the wings short films I watched them all first without understanding most of it and then the explanations because from there you understand more and get most if the picture.
After watching this you should watch xceleste explanation because storyline is more complicated than it looks you have to read webtoon and in their album we can find some clues and of course we can't buy all the versions of each album so you should watch her Explaination.

Unrelated to the storyline but Jimin and many of the other members have stacks apon stacks of photos of all their memories from Mv's, their shows, etc. It just gets me in the feels to just think about.

Throughout the video Jin is holding the camera, recording, and taking polaroids because In the storyline he is the one who really holds the memories close and he's the one we see the story's perspective from. He's the one who watches the boys and tries to bring them together. And the beach is where the boys took their first photo together in the story, and Jin looking at the photo with just him in it represents how eventually they all separate and are by themselves left with just their memories. (Sorry if this didn't make much sense I have a hard time translating thoughts into words) also if you're interested in the storyline UA-camr xCeleste has a video on it.
I second xceleste video for a summary after you watched all the videos, she puts the story together nicely and in a way that is easy to understand. The storyline is detailed in a webtoon called "Save Me"

Yes, it does feel super nostalgic and nostalgia most times points at something you wanna go back to. But realistically they're not (and I personally am not) in that stage of their lives anymore. They're in their late 20s with only jungkook being under 25 but he's getting there lol. It's nostalgic bc for people their and my age (I don't wanna assume yours so I apologize) it would feel forced and dishonest and even a little silly for them to talk about the anxiety of coming into your youth after being a teenager bc that's not them anymore. As much as I A D O R E the HYYH era their transition into love yourself felt much more authentic and relevant and I'm so glad despite them finding their ultimate success with both of those albums + wings (a damn masterpiece on its own) they didn't get stuck in that and became what they are today ❤️

Just a minor detail... At the beginning when V is calling someone, he uses the word hyung. It means older brother and is used by a male to an older brother. (A girl would call an older brother oppa). It does not have to be a biological brother; it can be an older friend. V calls Jin, Suga, RM, and J-Hope hung. Jimin was born the same year as V so they are the same age. Jungkook is the maknae, the youngest.
The Cat does not make an actual appearance in BTS' videos, but does appear in their online game.
Do watch the credits and all videos to the end. Not just to appreciate everyone who worked on it, but frequently there is more footage or hint/teaser.
I know you will get lots of people telling you to watch explanation videos. Watching the explanations is like looking at the answer key of a crossword puzzle when you have only started. Seriously, what is the fun of that??? There are a number of theories out there. xCeleste is a popular one. Unfortunately, IMHO, many ARMYs believe that her theories are the only correct ones.
Yes I agree, explanation videos should be after he finishes watching the whole storyline. There wouldn’t be much of an experience, and it’s enjoyable for us as well to see what his theories are!

But honestly, who thinks is the valid explanation if the girl takes a lot of time at the beginning of the videos o explain that is just her interpretation as valid as others and that in any case Big Hit reveal so far any rights or wrongs neither any official interpretation at all!!!!
I watched the explanation first because I wasn’t actually planning on delving into the universe in detail myself (really only because I was overwhelmed by the amount of media it was spread over yknow. videos, Mvs, notebooks, webtoon, game, etc I thought I’d never get to it all so I would miss out on important storyline) but I wanted to understand it for future and past videos…but then I got hooked after watching the explained 🤣 and started the whole universe from the beginning. It’s so cool

Yes, but guys please don't confuse him, we must follow the order of the storyline to help him to follow up and make sense every sequence. So next is "Run" and after the wings short films. Try not to ask randomly as it will help him some order.
1. The guy with the camera is Jin. He is the oldest member. He's with a camera because of the storyline. In life, the youngest member JongKook loves filming. There is a video of him on UA-cam (GCF).
2. Pairs of guys are also very important in this story. Jungkook and Suga; J-Hope and Jimin; Namjoon and V; Jin seems to be without a pair, but at the same time has an impact on everyone. (Which one you will understand later).
3. In the future, you will see a cat in their story. A lot of us believe this is the same cat as TXT.
4. In the photo at the end he is really alone, although several people were photographed. This is a very important frame for this storyline.

The BTS Wings Short Films are a very important puzzle piece for you to watch now after the prologue. There are seven of them and they are numbered in order. They are each a few minutes long and are full of symbolism and as a film editor you will absolutely love them!!!
I really wish you read their webtoon "Save Me". Then everything makes so much sense and you will understand why it was only him in the polaroid even though Suga was there with him in the frame.
Even after all these years, I still get so emotional watching this. The beautiful and tragic are captured so completely.
V or Kim Taehyung (the guy at the beginning) is an amazingly talented actor also. Loved his acting as Han Sung in "Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth". His last scene in the show was sooo well done. I hope Taehyung does more acting in the future.

You are correct in noticing someone was missing from the photo. Suga was originally in the photo. Jin now realized the universe has changed again so he will be going back in time to try to remedy the actions that will bring everyone together again.
BTS LOVES and i mean LOVES to hide clues in everything, and you never see it at first and when you do it suddenly all makes sense. As far as BU goes, it is a story, not a story on the band, thus why they are not directly singing the songs or dancing to the song, its basically the background for the story they are trying to tell. Also the BU is extremely detailed, and something they have worked on for years, that include many forms from a webtoon, to short films, live concert footage, notes detailed inside separate physical albums, and a notes a book.

15:30 - in the storyline "Jin" take videos and pictures to remember
In the story he time travels to make everyone's lives right (he tries multiple times but something always goes wrong ,someone always dies) but then he realizes that he has to sacrifice himself in order save everyone( NOT BY DYING , but by not meeting them *not existing* ) that's why his not in the picture , his basically erase from memory ( their memory of being together)

I really like your comments about the cinematography, lighting, etc. I know nothing about those stuff but watching your videos are kind of a learning experience cause I get to know bits and pieces about filmmaking. Also, I agree with what you've been saying whenever you watch their shooting sketches. While I like seeing the boys behind the scenes, I would also love to see how they build the set, the way they film the scenes, the camera movements... idk. It just makes me appreciate the MVs more, actually seeing all the work that was put into it.
I'm impressed, you keep bringing new insights on these old videos that we've been watching for years. I like your analogy on the movement of light in the first scene and it really never occurred to me how beautifully it was executed to help bring out V's emotion.

I love your reactions! Keep them going! I love seeing people make their own assumptions and seeing it from a different point of view. Btw I think it will be easier for you if you know their names because in the story they are sometimes paired up into duos that help each other and there's a lot of hidden meaning.

Hello! Idk if someone has already mentioned it but there have been 2 versions of ending scene. The 1st one was deleted(but youn can find it on UA-cam) and 2nd ver,.was uploaded. Thatwas done because of storyline, BTS has done it with other BTS Universe related things as well e.g. Smeraldo shop blogs(you will find about Smeraldo when you watch Highlight reels).

Jin (for reasons you now know) started losing his memories throughout the BU probably because he had to keep going back into the timelines, and all the knowledge he was gaining, anyways he starts losing memories so he starts keeping a diary, and filming videos and taking photos to remember everything that happens in the current timeline he’s in and what happened in the past timelines!

In 2015, BTS began their second era with a mini album "HYYH pt. 1" or "Most beautiful moment in life part 1" and "I Need U" serving as the album's title track. The music video for this track shows a story of the seven members in an alternate reality, depicting their anxieties and uncertainties as they confront their futures. Following this music video, multiple pieces of content were released in this era and in their third era. Due to the popularity of the fictional universe, Big Hit Entertainment named it the "BU", or "BTS Universe". BU guides you through the story of growth, loss of innocence and venture into adulthood with BTS growing up themselves, and connecting them to the albums they created. it is independently produced by Big Hit Entertainment and based on characters inspired by the members of BTS (not their real story tho). The franchise has expanded to include short stories, books, a webtoon and a visual novel. In the future is planned to release a drama of the franchise.
"Seven boys. Best friends. Their fates intertwined through the good times together, but also the tough times, as they have gone their separate ways and suffered greatly as a result. When all is almost lost for these boys, one is given a special chance to go back in time and help his friends fix the mistakes that led them down this path. He’ll do anything to save them, but can he? Or is he too late?" - this was the plot summary of the webtoon they released a couple of years ago.
in brief,
namjoon's character worked at a petrol pump and was harrassed by customers,
jin's character is the protagonist who goes back in time, in a loop, to try and save his friends, but there's always a link he misses (we got to know all this as the story progressed from 2015-2020 through albums and releases).
yoongi's character had his own remorse of not being able to connect with his first love, the piano, and some other stuff like- he was related to jungkook, who tried to get him out of a lot of trouble ( i can't really put it into words- but that explains the scene in the RUN video).
hoseok was diagnosed with narcolepsy, and met jimin in the hospital. hoseok's mother left him as a child with a snickers in his hand in front of a carousel at an amusement park (which explains the snickers and toys in the fake love mv- his biggest fears)
jimin was left in the hospital by his mother after he witnessed something in the arboretum that mentally affected him.
taehyung had an abusive, alcoholic father who regularly mistreated his mother and sister, and he ended up killing his father and living in the remorse (behind story of the heart-breaking song "stigma") and
jungkook had tried to take his life, and succeeded at it- if it wasn't for jin's time loop. (reminder that all this is non-canon, fiction)
it's pretty scary and intriguing at the same time...the BU... they like drop random stuff all the time that connects. To this date, 2021, they drop stuff that connects and this is one thing that makes the experience 10 times better. also, if you could process this, i would love if you could check out the 7 short films they released for the “wings” album- they're all on youtube, and pretty short videos but VERY impactful.

Thank you for your amazing commentary! This is so much better than someone overreacting to everything. I love that you're trying to understand what's going on, but also just completely geeking out over the aspect that you love most. That's wonderful!
Here are a couple of details that may help you:
1) The color purple was made important to BTS and ARMY due to an interaction between the two at a concert. It has nothing to do with the BU, but does later come into quite a few of their songs when the song is directed towards ARMY, or is about the relationship between ARMY and BTS. (see We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal and Stay Gold).
2) It wasn't mentioned on this one, but it was on another one, so I wanted to address this: Most of BTS' songs are not about an actual relationship. 'Girl' is is usually referring to ARMY or to BTS themselves (such as in I Need You). Their earlier works are a bit of an exception as they were exploring the concept of adolescence, which included young love. This isn't to say that the songs aren't romantic, or cannot be interpreted as such; however, I know that ARMY will probably be in your comments correcting you later if your interpretation every song as 'Oh! This is a love song about a girl.' It'll get annoying fast, I'm sure.
I am SO SO SO glad you took the time to check at the end of the video if it was really over or not! Sometimes people assume that it’s over and they miss that very important final scene with JIN looking at the photo. You’ve just learned something really important….that you need to watch every BTS video to the very end because they frequently add “hidden” final scenes!
After you’ve watched RUN and YOUNG FOREVER, the next MVs that were released in order were FIRE and SAVE ME, which round out the end of the HYYH series. So make sure you watch these too! (They also have important little tidbits at the end!). After that you’re ready to dive into WINGS. Just make sure you have your seatbelt on because this is going to be a crazy ride. One thing you need to keep in mind is that time is NOT chronological in the Bangtan Universe. You will constantly find yourself going back and forth, repeating things, seeing familiar themes again and again, so don’t expect this to be a smooth, one event follows the next as in the usual passage of time. That does not happen here.
For example, one thing you will see again and again is JUNGKOOK walking on a wall with his arms stretched out. You may remember this from the end of I NEED U, and you saw it again here in PROLOGUE. Keep it in mind as it is important to his character’s story. Also, you may have noted that the boys are frequently seen in pairs : JK and SUGA, RM and TAEHYUNG, JHOPE and JIMIN. JIN is the central character in the BU, so he is by himself. He is the one taking Polaroids, filming the boys, etc. The reason for this will become clear in time.
Some people in the comments have wanted to give you more information than you really need at this point. It’s hard because they are excited about watching you react to the storyline and they want you to know everything right now, but it’s really more fun to learn things organically and try to figure things out for yourself instead of just being spoonfed everything and told important things upfront. I mean, that’s the way we had to learn everything, as we had to wait months and months in between releases of MVs, and the storyline was revealed a little bit at a time. It was so frustrating but at the same time so very exciting!
The videos in the BU storyline require multiple viewings to really take everything in and notice every little detail. They are full of mystery, clues, multiple possibilities, haunting details, and common threads that run through every video, connecting the boys’ storylines. The explanation videos created by xCeleste are masterworks in telling the BU story from beginning to end. She really has done an incredible job and her videos are priceless in explaining to us what is actually going on. But I recommend waiting until you’ve just about completed the entire series before you watch her videos and the SAVE ME WEBTOON. Otherwise you’ll learn too much too soon and it takes all the enjoyment out of trying to figure things out for yourself, and you seem like the type of person who relishes the opportunity to decipher clues and tell the story on your own as it is revealed to you.
I’ll look for the link to the formal BU content list, which will be really helpful in making sure you watch everything in order and don’t miss anything. If you have any questions, I will be glad to help you as well as a few hundred other people that are following along with you! The Bangtan Universe is really fun and exciting, a big part of what makes BTS so unique, with amazing cinematography and storytelling, great acting by the boys, and fantastic music wrapped up in it. And the best part is it’s still ongoing!
Fun fact there’s actually a glitch in the video that didn’t show up until two years later. Towards the end the music when it hit the BIGHIT symbols the music sounds like it’s shutting off but if you see in prior reaction videos when it came out the music is different.

From what I heard and from what I understood from the song, butterfly is about loving someone who is sucidel as from on of the lyrics saying something like "I'm afraid if I touch you you'll disappear or break" like when you touch a butterfly's wing you hurt it . And Tae I think is the sucidel one that's why he jumped off
I love your reactions and hope you keep whaching and learning about the BU and eventually get to the wings short films I watched them all first without understanding most of it and then the explanations because from there you understand more and get most if the picture.
After watching this you should watch xceleste explanation because storyline is more complicated than it looks you have to read webtoon and in their album we can find some clues and of course we can't buy all the versions of each album so you should watch her Explaination.

Unrelated to the storyline but Jimin and many of the other members have stacks apon stacks of photos of all their memories from Mv's, their shows, etc. It just gets me in the feels to just think about.
