Same! It's totally because it's an Aaron Sorkin... he's the master at integrating just enough information about the subject that you feel informed and immersed but not lectured!
Yeah same here just came away from it (not in theaters but at home) feeling great about myself and confident and happy that they got where they needed to get in the end.
Ok fun fact for yall since you guys don’t know much about baseball the Cleveland Indians won 22 in a row in 2017 for the new American League record for longest win streak
“We're all told at some point in time that we can no longer play the children's game, we just don't know when that's gonna be. Some of us are told at eighteen, some of us are told at forty, but we're all told.”
@@spaceboundlad2622 At a point in everyone's life, they are presented with an opportunity that requires them to take a bigger step, to decide between a fork in the road. This is the point where they have to give up some things they held onto so they "can no longer play the children's game." For some people it comes earlier in life, for some later on, but everyone has to make that decision at some point.
Let them tell you.. You can hear but don't have to listen. Let's play the children's game forever. Or at least, let's just pretend, for a little longer... Nice quote by the way 😌
One of my favorite movies of all time, sports or otherwise. I can’t explain why. The interesting choices in cinematography, the soundtrack, the story. Everything. Great feel good movie.
Man some of the shots really capture all of Beane's feelings of loneliness, reflection, and straight up love for the game. The cinematography feels like a love letter for baseball
A truly outstanding film in which brad pitt and jonah hill both earned oscar nomination in their roles, respectively. This is one of the best comeback story in sports about redemption, sacrifice and the determination to transform the game of baseball.
The lighting in this is extraordinary, never seen a film that good in lighting and the shots are beautiful so yes it’s one hell of a movie for the cinematography. As for the rest, it is as perfect as the cinematography. Among the 5 movies ever that I consider perfect. Truely a GREAT GREAT film. Under appreciated.
I remember an interview of the Director saying he tried to use Stanley Kubrick‘s “Barry Lyndon” lighting approach, with the only difference he used ONLY Natural Light back in the day...
Something so fucking inspiring about this movie. In a very mature way of inspiring. No bullshit, very grounded. Hard work, dedication, creativity, guts, leadership, wining is awesome, but not everything. Sometimes succees is a bit more complicated term, than we think.
What I love about this film is that it’s philosophy can be applied to any team sport. Which is why I love this film, despite not having any prior knowledge of baseball.
By far the best sports movie ever. This was my favorite movie for years, and even after getting into film and watching a lot more stuff/broadening my horizons, this still holds strong as one of the best I've ever seen.
thank you so much for this upload. I didn't recognise the beauty of moneyball before I saw this video and in 4k? are you kidding me? this is amazing!! Ill now rewatch this movie again as I only saw it once and a very long time ago.
This movie gave me a relaxing vibe, using music only when its needed, and even dont use it either I love the cinematography, i love the music choice, i love brad pitt acting, its just nice to see him in this movie, and also with bobby kotick which is ceo of activition blizzard right now
This film for me, truly wonderfull and great, and i think its the greatest , its fucking masterpiece, a complete film in all aspects and not just about baseball. the story, acting, actors, the inspiration in it, and even the music. And there is another thing that I like about this film, that it does not contain any indecent scenes, and with this thing it overcomes all the movies that are full of indecent scenes. I will never get bored with this film ever.
Odio el béisbol pero por varias razones me gusto mucho esta película. El personaje de Brad Pitt, el soundtrack y ese mensaje que te deja la película "jamás te rindas"
Another amazing edit, your work is truly inspirational and insightful bro!! Please do one for mission impossible fallout rogue nation and ghost protocol, I truly think the cinematography for those films are sooo underrated, it would be such an amazing gift for me
Can you please do the beauty of SKY Castle? It has the most phenomenal cinematography and acting. One of the best shows to ever exist. It is a Korean serie, and you know their filmmaking is brilliant and breathtaking. But, it is a heavy one. Not your normal drama.
Un des meilleurs films de sport pour ma part (avec Friday Night Lights de Peter Berg). Brad Pitt est magistral dedans. Et avec This Will Destroy You comme soundtrack c’est la perfection assurée 👌
23/2/2023 just watched again felt happy and confident for so many weeks now all a sudden I'm feeling fed up so this should pick me back up as all of that natural happiness is gone. 03:01 AM just completed GTA 4 Ballad Of Gay Tony a while back.
@Aritosthenes I actually agree with a lot of what you said. I think the Wrestler would've been another movie you could've listed, and it wouldn't have felt out of place. Moneyball, however, is also an impeccable display of film craft. I could teach a class on why Moneyball is one of the best examples of how effective American cinematic conventions can be when done correctly. On top of that, Bennett Miller's technique is top notch, and the performances in the film are some of the performers' best work. If you've seen Miracle, I'd say that's a film that shows why Moneyball is so great when compared to other films in its vein (i.e. Hoosiers, Any Given Sunday, Major League, etc) It didn't need to do anything different or bring anything new to the story nor did it need to put a unique spin on it (The Natural, Pride of the Yankees [though this film came before genre convetions were established and isnt trying to be a genre film in the way most of these other films are]). I'd say the greatest compliment you can give Moneyball is that it IS a generic sports movie, and it might be one of the most generic sports movies ever made, but in being one, it elevates the generic, cliche filled, feel good/inspiring conventional sports story to a patient, moving, and ultimately meaningful reflection on life. It's more than just a great sports movie, it's a work of art that deserves to hang on the wall of any gallery in the world. I dont think that diminishes other equally transcendent sports films, but Id argue Moneyball has just as much in common with Remember the Titans as it does with Barry Lyndon. It's really a fine piece of cinematic art that comments on the human condition as well as an inspiring, feel good sports story. Those don't come very often in life, and I think they deserve to be appreciated when they do, but that appreciation shouldn't diminish the celebration of other great works.
We're all told at some time we can no longer play the children's game. We don't know when that will be, some of us are told at 18 some of us are told at 40...But we're all told.

This soundtrack is so simple and extremely powerful and beautiful.
It's a sham Wally Pfister isn't a cinematographer anymore. This is a very good looking movie.
It is you should watch it you will not be disappointed.
What I love about this film is that it’s philosophy can be applied to any team sport. Which is why I love this film, despite not having any prior knowledge of baseball.
I like the choice of music in this. Very tranquil and relaxing.
TheDragonKing This Will Destroy You. Amazing Post Rock Band from US, and Official soundtrack Of the movie ;)
It's the movie's soundtrack
I like how it's just repeating those same notes, shows how everything is a process and got to just keep going.
This film really has great cinematography. Too bad it wasn't even nominated for an Oscar.
One of the best scripts ever written. Written by Aaron Sorkin and Steven Zaillian.
My favorite movie of all time and you did it justice. Thank you.
