Some KH1 fans dislike how conveluded the plot for the series got after the first game (needing to play a random Gameboy game to understand what is even going on in KH2) as well as how the gameplay stepped away from the platformy/explory nature of the original/thinking reaction commands playing minicutscenes being less engaging. KH2 fans will say KH1 feels clunky by default and that the new combat mechanics, drive forms and overall gamefeel was an improvement. I prefer different things about both games and can understand why some feel the way they do about them.
I think the majority of the people liked the combat in 2, but kh1's story I felt like had more of a plot going on while you go to different worlds. I just remember in 2 not being too excited for the story for each world I visited cause I knew it wouldn't amount to much.
@@caldw615 as a late comer who had the fortune of playing them all on the ps4 collection I get this. Goofy's backstory: Goofy sworn to protect all he care and loves from the darkness after Max's mother was killed. Max who is a knight in training at the Disney Castle is not interested in fighting since he doesn't know about the past that involved his mother. What should happen: Sora meets Max at Disney Castle and learns that Goofy has a son. Max tells him that he doesn't share the same motivation to fight like his father does and wants to do something else. Max doesn't understand why his father wants him to become a knight. Sora meets back up with Goofy and he tells Sora about his past and his reason in wanting to protect others from harm. They hear screaming in the distance and see Max running away from heartless. Sora, Donald and Goofy chase after the heartless only to see Max cornered. The heartless attacks Max but he is protected by his father who is now injured. Sora and Donald takes out the heartless and watch as Max is crying after seeing his father get hurt. He apologizes for not being strong enough to face them on his own. Goofy stops him and tells him it's alright; he wasn't strong enough to protect Max's mother from the heartless in the past but he is strong enough to protect his son and all of his friends from the same mistake. Max now realizes his father's eagerness and vows that he too will become strong in order to protect his father in the future. Heartfelt smile and hug blah blah. Don't forget the Three Caballeros appearing in Coco world!! That should happen. More background on both Donald and Goofy.
Rusbel Garcia For me, I like both equally. Had this video been made a little later, I may or may not have chosen Face My Fears, but I find Don’t Think Twice more suitable for this one.
@JPC Viral I honestly hated the song "Let it Go". Its not so much the music and melody of the song itself. Its the lyrics and sexual innuendo's of the song that I find off-putting. Even the lyric "Let it Go" is a euphemism for letting go of moral inhibitions and it reeks of "sexual liberation". I think to myself, "is this really the kind of song that millions of parents would want millions of daughters around the world to listen too?" Unless of course they are just scumbag parents who don't care.
@JPC Viral I'm more interested in her Japanese version actually. There's three version of Simple and Clean you know. The Original, KH1 Remix, 0.2 Remix.
I love how prophetic this is. At first, KH1 fans and KHII fans argue while everything is basically OK and then comes KHIII and the world turns into a dark pit of mutual indifference and grief over something that once worked well.
You play Kingdom Hearts 1 for being a game about a kid getting to hang out with Disney characters, with a tone and atmosphere that no other game in the series ever went back to, for better or worse. You play Kingdom Hearts 2 for being an absolute treat to play with a combat system that, whether or not you think it's good, you can't deny it's satisfying as hell. You play Re:Coded for being the real best game.
I really liked the complicated level designs of KH1 because it meant I had to play it longer to figure out and who doesn’t want to play Kingdom hearts as much as possible
Eddie On Top Soloing entire Heartless armies single-handedly before Sora or Donald can make a move, and yet, still crediting everyone whenever they win a match in Olympus.
I just realized, and all the kingdom hearts games I’ve seen Huey Louie and Dewey, scrooge McDuck, even Chip and Dale, but I never see Max... What would happen if Max was part of the kingdom hearts franchise?
Scrooge and the Nephews were around during Walt's days, so they're well integrated. Outside of "Goofy Jr" in a few classic shorts, Max is largely a creation of the 90's, which means that chances of Max (or PJ) ever showing up in a KH game are practically zilch.
@@GanonGhidorah I know, if Sora found a photo of Hayner, Pence, Olette and Max, Sora would be asking some very heartaching questions, Goofy would may respond by saying Max joined the darkness, he's his nobody, he lived with Max in Twilight Town as his father, he's his nobody, Goofy has part of Max's heart or Max straight up had been assassinated

Imagine KH4 except it’s Sora and Kairi’s kid, Max and still Donald except now he’s an ultra wise mage.
@@isaacddestroy3674 OH SHIT, that is such a fucking good idea
when the cassette tape broke, sanctuary plays the reverse line! very nice!
They're both masterpeices kh1 nostalgia kh2 great story and sanctuary and simple and clean are eaquale.
when we getting max in kh, nomura?
With Disney's approval.

ikr the entire time i was like oof plz pay attention it was giving me anxiety lmao
Now it's KH2 vs KH3 fans...
Sanctuary vs. Face My Fears...
OH LET ME FACE LET ME FACE LET ME FACE MY FEARS
Let me face my fears in this sanctuary. Simple and clean.
Face my fears imo is definitely the weakest one, but don't think twice imo is battling for top spot with sanctuary honestly
One game was a game and the other was sequel bait and no substance.....

KH3 Fans: LEMME FACE LEMME FACE LEMME FACE MY FEEEEARS
Goofy's backstory:
Goofy sworn to protect all he care and loves from the darkness after Max's mother was killed. Max who is a knight in training at the Disney Castle is not interested in fighting since he doesn't know about the past that involved his mother.
What should happen:
Sora meets Max at Disney Castle and learns that Goofy has a son.
Or maybe he’s in college at Twilight Town
At least they both have one thing in common
*Neither of them know whats happening in the story*
Goofy doesn’t like kh2 because he got hit with a rock and got.... KRocked out
The fact goofy is a veteran and his son is treating that way speaks volumes
I still wish they mentioned max in kh3 just so goofy had someone to return to.
it'd be cool to see max introduced to the kh series. maybe even getting a keyblade coz it's not as if it this rare thing anymore.
Originally there was hundreds, thousands of keyblade weilders before the wars so it makes sense
I do like "don't think twice" more than "face my fears"
Rusbel Garcia For me, I like both equally. Had this video been made a little later, I may or may not have chosen Face My Fears, but I find Don’t Think Twice more suitable for this one.
imo I didn't really gravitate to either of them.
The repeated use of 'baby' in Don't think Twice is pretty bad, and it kinda ruins the song for me.
FAC3theMUSIK what u got against babies bub?
@@chrisnemat A certain Beaver, for one.
Imagine this song play in Disney Channel, or rather Disney+
Utada song sure fits everything
Well this brought back a memory. That music is pretty powerful.
I thought this was going to be a simple meme, but then you had to go and hit us with the *feels.*
I remember have a similar experience arguing over which intro was better when I was younger, this is so accurate
This is just proof that all of the Kingdom Hearts songs are the best in the world
Wtf this video is awesome, why it took 2 years to get recommended to me?
I really liked the complicated level designs of KH1 because it meant I had to play it longer to figure out and who doesn’t want to play Kingdom hearts as much as possible
Dont Think Twice always makes me super depressed.
Yeah as a KH1 fan, I still have a guilty pleasure of thinking Lance Bass as Sephiroth and liking it.
Is it weird that those songs left more of an impact on me than the games did?
Passion is the dominant KH opening (Japanese version of sanctuary)
Hey dude, thanks... I lean to Sanctuary but Oath may just *Reconnect* the fan's *hearts* xD
this really went into a max amv, good job
I'm surprised about the fact that the KH1 fan is Maxie and not Goofy
As much as I wanted Max in the games, it would be awkward to acknowledge Goofy's son he never mentioned before now.
From a meme to a AMV
Nice :)
LMFAO the don’t think twice amv caught me off guard
If only max knew the cool adventures his dad went through with Sora and Donald. Destroying heartless and saving the world on many occasions
Eddie On Top Soloing entire Heartless armies single-handedly before Sora or Donald can make a move, and yet, still crediting everyone whenever they win a match in Olympus.
The Goofy movies already give me a severe case of the feels, you don't have to add Don't Think Twice on top of that.
I wasn’t ready for this emotional turmoil after the tape broke Rip
omg this video is very well edited, thanks for sharing
I just realized, and all the kingdom hearts games I’ve seen Huey Louie and Dewey, scrooge McDuck, even Chip and Dale, but I never see Max...
What would happen if Max was part of the kingdom hearts franchise?
Scrooge and the Nephews were around during Walt's days, so they're well integrated. Outside of "Goofy Jr" in a few classic shorts, Max is largely a creation of the 90's, which means that chances of Max (or PJ) ever showing up in a KH game are practically zilch.
Sora would have to ask some _uncomfortable_ questions...
@@GanonGhidorah "So Goofy... if Max is your son... who's his mom?"
@@DJKennedy90 That would be great for some of those moments to make you cry. Like idk, Sora lost someone special for him and Goofy tell him the story of his wife and how he has accepted that death is inevitable
It’s been like 2 decades since I seen this movie
Max Goof for KH3
Is it Me or Does Goofy's Singing match perfectly with Sanctuary?
Max should've been in at least one Kingdom Hearts game. They put all of Donald's nephews but not Goofy's son?
Came for the cookie cutter meme stayed for the genuinely decent AMV.
KH1: Beautiful in simplicity story , unmatched sense of mystery and adventure , impeccable level design. One of the greatest video games of all time.
KH2: Haha lifeless hallways and button mashing go brrr.
I do think Simple and Clean is the theme for KH but I actually adore Sanctuary because it literally gives me feels every time. Especially since it was the first Kingdom Hearts game i ever saw.
Me, who only plays the console games: Wow, they're both great!
Well, only console games get a new song anyway. Handhelds just reuse the others.
Well all the games are on the superior console
now; Xbox One.
@@lucleadergaming3487 bro if that were true they would have at least beat the switch in sales
@@lucleadergaming3487 and technically only the cinematic to 358/2 days and coded is on Xbox the games themselves are still handheld exclusives
If you're feeling pumped up you listen to "simple and clean" and Face my fears, if you're feeling thoughtful you listen to sanctuary.
Kh1 and kh2 fans are no longer enemies, they’ve banded together due to how superior both games are compared to kh3
I'll played Kingdom hearts in its first days - and every title that comes out until now (2020). I always was a goofy (and Max) fan. Before the second, what started don't think twice, I was laughing. After I realise the music of don't think twice, I'll just closed my eyes for a moment and enjoyes this. A beautiful compilation. Thank you
haha "my heart's a battle" - "feel" (field)
YES YOU GOT IT!!!
This just reminds me that Don't Think Twice should have been the opening theme instead of Face My Fears
I like how its dont think twice and not face my fears. Someone clearly knows the superior and true main song of that game
I was born in 1995, the same year this movie was released in theatres and I'm proud of It.
THIS IS FUCKING PERFECT MY SISTER GREW UP WITH KH2 COMING OUT AND I GREW UP W BOTH, IT CAME OUT WHEN I WAS A FETUS, AND ME AND HER BOTH LOVE BOTH- we can't decide
This reminds me of AMVs of years gone by when KHII was still a really hot ticket item and I miss those times in my life. So simple and clean
Where’s 0.2 simple and clean that’s the best version
Plot twist: KH1 fans are just the younger versions of KH2 fans. It was confirmed in KH3. Because Darkness
KH3 healing generational wounds
everything is satisfyingly synced for no reason
But the real question: Which hit harder?
“I know you will!” Or
“You’re home...”
This had me absolutely buckled, but it's wholesome two, im super biased towards pt2 but I can empathize the sheer love for the series that part 1'ers have too and at the end of the day the whole story is an absolute blast
It would be cool if this world would make it in Kingdom Hearts. Just like country of the mosqueters.
This video is so perfect, thank you for making it. I got chills and a overdose of nostalgia 😭
Im personally on goofy's side.
When the kh3 theme started to play I wanted to cry
Petition to put Max in Kingdom Hearts: Sora's Dance Party
Gotta watch this a million times now. This is perfect!
I’ve never played a single kingdom hearts game but know every lyric to these songs
Speaking of the Goof Troop franchise (which includes A Goofy Movie and An Extremely Goofy Movie), imagine the characters from DuckTales, Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers, TaleSpin, Darkwing Duck, Goof Troop (even including A Goofy Movie and An Extremely Goofy Movie), Bonkers, and The Adventures of the Gummi Bears in Kingdom Hearts.
Don't you think they all deserve more attention?
I will never play a Kingdom Hearts game until Max Goof is in it.
This just became an AMV at the end
Ive always thought the reversed lyrics in kh2s song kinda makes it sound messy, yes, i am saying simple and clean is cleanee
The kh3 song actually fits on this scene, but yeah simple and clean it's way better than sanctuary
Whelp I'm glad I watched this
How is "Don't Think Twice" giving me such intense feels in the context of the Goofy Movie?! Damn Utada, you have skills...
In my opinion simply and clean is better sanctuary and I don’t wanna talk about the third one it LITERALLY AND PHYSICALLY HURTS MY HEART AFTER PLAYING KINGDOM HEARTS 3
Me, an Utada fan: *puts them all on a playlist and feels existential joy and pain for about 13 minutes*
KH1 fans and KH2 fans meeting up is just them pointing at KH3 fans and going “yeah we’re bad but at least we’re not them.”
Ouch! I feel attacked now, Kingdom Hearts 3 was my first Kingdom Hearts game.
The Silver Blader it’s less a bash on the fans and more a bash of the game itself. KH1 has a better story and world design in my opinion and KH2 has a better combat system. 3 isn’t the worst KH, just not the best starting point.
@@chriswendi3825 you nailed it! I can't stand going through kh2 due to it's ridiculously stupid story but I'll play kh1 without issues any day of the week despite its simpler combat.
@@chriswendi3825 well I know I started with Kingdom Hearts 3, I just saw a game with Disney Characters and an Anime character with a big Key shaped sword and thought it was interesting so I put it on my birthday list and then got it. Later I got all the other games, honestly my favorite story wise so far(still need to play them again) is Re:Chain of Memories. For gameplay I'm torn between 3 & 2 Honestly 3 coulda done without the Attraction Flow feature(it was just to on the nose). But even though the story was the last part of a long running game saga I found everything easy to pick up on(including the time travel part), but even then I thought the Xehanort ending was too cheesy, I mean really! A misunderstood good guy!? It felt even cheesier and lazier of an ending for that character after all he'd done over the previous 9 games! But Sora's ending moved me! Now that I'm all caught up I can't wait to finally save Sora in Phase 2 of this franchise! Don't worry Sora I'm coming buddy!! Silver Blader will bring you home for your happy ending with Kairi!
