Another great video James. Glad you got out before that big storm passed through. 👍😎

🤣 9:45 "They look very pointy-uppy"... reminds me of Piglet in Winnie-the-Pooh: "Pooh, must you be so very 'up'?"... love your content; you, Diane, and the 'coupe make a great team... thanks for taking us along!

As always, thanks for having us along for the ride. You guys are good people. I just learned that a firm in the UK is offering an Ercoupe 415-C for my MSFS 2020 flight sim, so maybe sometime soon I can 'recreate' some of your shared journeys.... at least digitally - lol

That's cool, I'll have to try that on Dad's sim, he has MSFS 2020. I use X-Plane.

Thanks for the fun little hop, James. Diane is such a wise woman with that reminder that your lives are at stake. :-) You are the pilot in command, not those marshals.
Mentioning Nebraska just brought back memories of a trip we took to Georgia a couple of weeks ago... in a car. And by God was it cold and windy the morning we woke up in North Platte, Nebraska. We saw 20F and 40MPH winds. Ouch.

Yeah, Brent, they certainly get 'weather' out there. Unlike us here in CA... Two shakey OSH departures now; I need to tighten that up, no doubt. Next one will be better.

Certainly glad you missed the big storm - footage I saw of that was pretty dramatic! Windmills weren't generating too much power! Pretty sunset.
Good start to return trip and then the luxury of a hotel stop over. :)

Ha. Someone else noticed the iPhone PIN. Good catch. I may try to make it back next year. My old back won’t allow me to fly my coupe that far so have to go commercial. Yuk. Great Vid.

Thanks Joe. Yes, bit of a faux pas on my account with the visible PIN. Oops. She changed her code already.

fantastic as always James, I suspect even the best would get caught up in a departure from Oshkosh... great learning point, but be fair to yourself, we all learn each time we go up... Beautiful scenery by the way...

Thanks, Neil. Yeah, I need to do better next time. Editing these videos is actually a good learning exercise for me, certainly let's me revisit the situation! Thanks for the kind words.

Run up procedure with vintage aircraft with marginal or no brakes is to perform the mag check during the takeoff roll.

This is getting too weird. In my previous comment regarding you guys taxiing thru my front yard at OSH (on the way to your tie down area), i saw my 195 several times, and also commented about the Yoddler. NOW...on your trip home Part 13, you show a snippet of a photo of the Arrow East Hotel in Broken Bow, NE. While I have lived in Lower Missouri for 35 years, I spent great years in Broken Bow and have lots of friends there. I have done projects in Broken Bow (I am an architect). One of the last of my projects, about 5 years ago, was the Arrow East Hotel, shown in your picture. Sure would like to see the episode that shows that visit but I cannot find it amongst your episodes. Did you stay there? Did you get a balcony room? Eat at the Bonfire Grille? Now you me completely hooked. I flew direct from OSH to BBW on the day of the ribbon cutting at one of my BBW projects, cant remember which one. You have me pumped for Airventure and I have only gone to OSH about 40 times.

We stayed in the hotel at Broken Bow, and we loved it. The Bonfire Grill was great, it should be in a video soon! We would love to go back there sometime.

Would you please describe the instrument that is in the top row between what I think is a tachometer and an altimeter? I can't quite make out what it is. Thanks

Hi Tom. I put an image of the panel on my site, www.ercoupetv.com/ercoupe.html . I think you're looking at my artificial horizon, between the ASI and Altimeter?

So how high above those windmills were you?

    • @JamesGood
      @JamesGood  2 роки тому

Good question. Reviewing this now, I hope 500'. Hopefully the zoom lens is making it look closer than it feels in this video.

I have no doubt you were high enough. I was just trying to get a sense of the size. We flew over some on our way but we were at 5,500. Looked a bit different.

Just an FYI, Diane might want to change the PIN for her iPhone.

Thank you Peter, my mistake including that. She's changed it!
