    The Honda Civic came out in the early 1970's and is now on its 11th generation. It is one of the most recognizable vehicles on the road.
    Every major car manufacturer has at least one bread and butter vehicle that they milk for all it's worth. Porsche has the 911, Jeep has the Wrangler and Honda has the Civic. They know they need to make one for everyone and the Si is the fun one! "Sport injected" in fact.
    One thing that has made the Civic so famous over all these years remains intact in newest generation of Si; its still a great riding car that is a pleasure to use.
    I call it the ultimate daily driver because its your "have your cake and eat it too" car. It's roomy, chalked full of practicality and injected with just enough fun to keep you out of jail. All the while doing it guilt free because of it's grownup looks and easier on the wallet ownership experience.
    Come take a look!

    Just picked up my 2024 Civic Si in Sonic Grey. I am loving it.. I’ve watched a lot of videos with people saying the Si isn’t fast… it’s pretty freakin fast.. 200 horse power is plenty, especially when you’re coming from a car that only put out 140hp. Yes there are much more powerful cars out there.. but seriously… when are you going to be able to use all those ponies.. unless you are running your car on a track. 200hp… for me anyway is the perfect amount of of power without getting in to trouble.

    It’s not sports injected but gas direct injection and the brakes on the si work extremely well

    • @Neutralreviews
      @Neutralreviews  Місяць тому

      Wiki: The Si (Sport Injected) trim was introduced for the third generation of Honda Civics in both Japan and North America. In Canada and elsewhere, the trim became known as the SiR for the sixth and seventh generations as the "Si" badge was used for the equivalent to the USDM Civic EX model. The brakes work great but the WRX and other competitors in this segment have upgraded brakes being a sporty version of the car.

    Love my Si but don't trust the auto steer feature. It works until it doesn't. If a curve is a little too difficult, it just turns off with almost no warming, unlike a Tesla which really warms you. All you get is a single quiet beep that is easily missed with the radio on with any modest volume. No visual warning. A dangerous oversight on Honda's part.

      @@NeutralreviewsThe Elantra N works for that and is cheaper than the down graded Si coming from a 2020 Si. I find the adaptive dampers really made my 2020 Si handle and drive everyday. I find this new Si is nice a better interior, a way better infotainment system the 2020 sucks and is so slow. I passed and went to the Elantra N with the DCT and wow never thought the auto would be as fun as it is. With the N being at 40 grand and no mark up and the Si at 45 grand MSRP in Canada here 37 grand? Really? That makes the Si a non starter in my opionion.

    My personal take on the latest SI from a long-term and current Honda 2021 Accord Sport 2.0T. In the market just recently for a toy. A weekend runabout with power, handling and performance on a budget. The GTI, WRX, SI and Integra all were on the short list and all were very fun and pleasing to drive. In the end, I went for the 2024 WRX Sport-Tec (top trim in Canada 6speed) over the SI. The Civic was fun, peppy, very well built with a typical Honda smooth and buttery sweet manual. Great interior and very, very good handling. But it just wasn't that fun, enough at least. It's a bit normal, average in it's overall feel. Almost pedestrian and far, far slower than my 2.0T Accord with 253hp and 272 ft lbs of torque. The WRX felt more raw (obviously and typical of Subaru products), far quicker, far more tossable and just plain more weekend fun. If I were buying a toy as a dual daily driver with daily trips to the shit hole that is Toronto, then YES, I would have chosen the SI. But as a "fun machine" .....a toy ..... the SI is too slow, too conservative and too mundane.

    • @Neutralreviews
      @Neutralreviews  5 місяців тому +1

      Interesting! Good points. I fell in love with the new Si after I reviewed it but I think I would go WRX too for similar reasons. I have a BRZ RS and I appreciate the rawness. My hope is to keep my BRZ as a fun second car and get a WRX manual for awesome all weather driving fun commuting. Still warming up to the looks lol but for the money there really isn't much out there like it anymore for the price point sadly.

    Hey, you must be showing Canadian pricing ($37,593) for that 2023 SI, the USA SI price is $29.100 for a 2024! The next trim model above the SI is the Sport Touring in the hatch or Touring in the sedan! That's not counting the Type R for $45,000. I'm look at buying a 2024 Civic Hatchback Sport Touring, I want all the creature comforts of a loaded car such as remote start, heated seats, 12 speaker Bose system, sunroof & etc. I'm not interested in racing so I would have NO need for the SI or Type R! The SI only has 20 more horsepower that the standard 1.5 liter turbo in the Touring edition cars, that could be change with a chip programmer!!

      Thanks, that's also weird considering all the sedans & the Touring Sedan for the US market are made in Canada & all the hatchbacks & Sport Touring Hatchback are made in Ohio! Well my reason for the Civic Hatchback Sport Touring model is I retired early at 55 in March 2022 and it would be my pleasure car, not a daily driver for work! The Hatchback has more of a sporty look & I'm also adding the rear spoiler for the hatchback model & the car will be in Platinum White Pearl.@@Neutralreviews
