Reassembly - Intro Guide & 16x Obliterator Weapon Pod Carrier Tutorial

- Probably a one-off video on this great little indie game that's the love child of LEGO spaceships and Asteroids: ambient redeisgn and ongoing battle in a dense, 2D galaxy of other competing designs.
I introduce most of the basic game-play concepts in the first half. Then, around 5m14s, there's a more detailed tutorial on how to build a Sentinel faction weapon pod carrier ship that can hold 16 (or more!) "Obliterator" LASER turrets (you are normally only able to have 2 of these in each ship design).
There seems to be a pretty active modding community involved with the game, but I haven't installed any, as yet, so this is an un-modded trick!

Holy shit THIS IS INGENIIUS
Ive played reassembly for 2 or 3 years and never seen something this deztructive under the 8k limit and i have tried something somar with the terrans but it didnt work so i dismissef it great job on figuring that out
Thanks Spartan. I'm not 100% it will still work OK. I'm not sure if there have been any notable updates to the game that might have affected this...?
@@ZeroGravitas yeah if it doesnt work ill let u know but i just haven't had a chance to try it out not very far with the sentinels so i dont have it yet
great work bringing that idea to life! I've tried one or two designs like this and never gotten results like this. Very cool
Thanks. I remember it being pretty fiddly to make semi-stable. 🙂
But it could be that the game's physics has been slightly tweaked in the intervening years. I've no idea.
I used to play a lot of flash games (before moving onto Indie), and this game is very nostalgic. 2D Space/Modular ships used to be a rare archetype.
Hey there people! I know this isn't a Terraria video, I'm still aiming to make more of those, if I'm able. I fell into Reassembly while too knackered to work on the "Daily T-MEC Gifs" I had been making (e.g. link below).
This game is simple and relaxing, yet the design and test loop is super-addictive fun with deep, emergent outcomes and tactics. I didn't even touch on the Tournament Mode in my brief video review.
So, I think this game should be of interest to all of you, more technically interested Terraria players, who've like my previous content. This video even deals with collision physics again (with useful and glitchy behaviour thereof).
I hope you enjoy the video, and maybe check out the game too (if you haven't already)!
P.S. My last Daily T-MEC gif post, with links to the others in the comments: www.reddit.com/r/Terraria/comments/3ge3sy/5_teleporter_pad_party_tricks_tmec_gif_9/
+ZeroGravitas (Richard Lewis) I love seeing you post videos again whether Terraria or another game. This game looks great and I can't wait for you to turn it inside out, back again like you did with Terraia.
+ZeroGravitas (Richard Lewis) do more of this! its Awesome!
So you don't have to make any Terraria Video?
Great! I like reassembly too, I hope you will make more videos about reassembly
Genius! I'm now playing this game, old but still tons of fun. Reminds me of the old game 'Battleships Forever' that I played when I was little.
Hope they make a new game……
Oh, that does look quite similar...
And "little"; I was 25 when it came out in 2007. 👴
*Silently adds this to watch later list*
Mans still hearts comments, Madlad!
Hi! How did you issue fleet orders at 4:32-4:36 in your video? I've been looking for a way to order my giant swarm to kite with torpedoes and missiles away from the enemy haha
+Brian Giancarlo I think it was just the "G" key (check you bindings in settings). It's fairly limited though, as to what you can get them to do, so good luck! :o)
Yeah i dont think that you can give them such specific orders just like hold fire fire at will and fire on mytarget so...
Game is balanced good enough to make even such awesome design not unbeatable, crystalline race guns will easily disassemble this ship at range
The links are broken
Ah, thanks for saying! Seems like the wormhole link expired, but I've created a new link to the Dropbox version, so see if that works (from the description). Let me know how you get on, thank you. 🙂
@@ZeroGravitas The Dropbox Link works perfect! Thanks!
impressiveI never thought to do this with spawning ships
Looks like an amazing game
Can you Spawn a Station that does this? Generates pods inside it?
Can you Spawn self generating fleets that grow exponentially?
It's been a few years since I've played, resources slow growth and captive ships don't raise the ship/fleet limit value that much...
I've heard, on the Reddit, that there's been an agent fleet that replicates out of control, somehow, griefing player with computer slowdown/crash.
@@ZeroGravitas cheap ships with factories, know the pain
tried building a test ship with the pods but they keep escaping. is this broken now?
+Sasha Rosenthal Just checked to be sure and the design I showed still works for me. :-) Are you using sentinel, with armored blocks, preferably? You have to be very careful with the design and dimensions, etc, to get the pods to pop into place in the first place.
+ZeroGravitas yes i was using sentinel and the armoured blocks. i wasn't using the mothership just using a test ship so i dunno :P may have been something with the test ship. will have to try more shapes/configurations or something.
Looks like a rad game.
This is a great game and nice vid!
Have you played space engineers?
+Артём Мелик-Шахназаров Yeah, I gave it a decent trial run (when it had a free weekend, I think). It's definitely cool, but (for me) has the same problem(s) that Minecraft has: the 3D element is more 'realistic' but causes unnecessary work and complications. A little too much mental effort, also dis-orientating with the 1st person perspective. There wasn't all that much motivation to build things either, seemed to be no pressing objectives or challenges.
You like Space engineers? Got some good builds to make videos about?... :o)
+Артём Мелик-Шахназаров Really impressive hexapod walker there. That
kind of thing was quite common in my university cybernetics department.
So I'm impressed with the depth of physics and control systems that they
have in the game, for sure! It's a real alternate reality, seems like.
Perhaps well positioned for the first real wave of VR headsets and such.
I still think it will be too involved for me, too big and complex for me
to innovate anything new. My short term memory is so poor I need the
god's eye omnidirectional view of 2D (so I don't forgot what I can't
see). Speaking of Terraria, the 1.3.1 update is under-way, with spoilers
that simple logic gates have already been implemented, a forth wire
colour, etc. Probably a lot more beyond that, as it's aiming to be
focused on being a mechanics update. So might be worth you taking
another dip once that comes out! :o)
*****
Thanks for telling me about it. I think i may take a look at what terraria is nowdays.
why you not making videos anymore?
12:18
Hey that's Camo5's fleet.
heh.
And it got wrekked
Keep up the good work! :)
Great video
Reminds me a lot of Spore.
Wow, this game looked good enough that I thought about buying it on steam instead of pirating it. I thought about it.
+I have 7 subscribers It's totally DRM free, so yeah, pretty easy, I imagine. Maybe if you've enjoyed it and it goes on sale, eh?... ;o)
***** Yeah, I played it for a few hours last night, and there were a few functions (like tournament mode) unavailable. I'll consider buying it if it's on sale before I get burnt out of it.
+I have 7 subscribers Probably an older version then; Arthur's still updating, fixing bugs, etc. Oh, and just to be Crystaline clear on this: I don't condone pirating this game. In fact, I'm a little sad I bought it on sale, rather than full price! ;o)
***** It's been fun so far. I definitely got my money's worth
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
+I have 7 subscribers T'was 30 dollars in early access. Igt's 15 dollars now, so #worthit
looks like this game will have a lot of except if you're a sentinel word
I need commentary in a toutorial.
ur a genius
Are you still here?
+boofhead711 In Reassembly? No. On Earth, yes. On UA-cam, we'll see... ;-)
Thanks for the reassurance.
When are you posting terraria
last video 7 months ago dang you have a lot of subs somehow
SECOND
just to annoy you guys
FIRST
Congratulations, you are exploiting a glitch to circumvent the player's inability to use transients :D
copied your design...apparently the spike armor parts are what keep the ships in place...
+Camden Wallraff I thought that too about the spikes being special, but then the test with a plain block container seemed to firmly contradict that...
Your video is awesome but how to pass through the wall with wath mod or faction?
i was having trouble with a test ship then i added some spikes and it worked fine... think spikes are the answer or maybe multiple layer of different size/types of blocks
