Personally I think this is the BEST video you could have done. It showed the truth, not all these claims of all this magical horsepower that so many ppl swear on 40 stacks of bible's that busa's make. You spoke & showed the absolute truth. You gained a whole level of respect from me on showing the world the truth & not hyped up numbers. I've said for years technology caught up with the busa, it's a hell of a bike once you put money into it like any bike. The top end is monster on the street past 1/8 of a mile. My old G1 w Yosh ST1 roadrace high lift cams, airbox cut out, and Arata 4-1 Ti system made 178/107wtq she was fun. Current G2 w FTECU flash and Brocks Alien system shows same #'s on dyno w stock airbox/filter but she doesnt feel as gnarly as my ole G1

Bought a last of the gen 1 ‘s in 016. So I started doing some mods.First up was a full yoshi 4 into 1 system waked a PC5 and K&N air filter with no airbox mod then got it dyno at Patterson’s Ducati and it pulled 173hp at the rear wheel.So since then I’ve done the usual maintenance check’s valve clearance’s/compression test/ sinc throttle bodies/rev retarder and slightly hotter ridium plugs. So I’ve just done 125.000 K’s and this thing is going like a train.There’s more but it will be to long. Got to be happy with that. Cheers BUSA07

4 into 1 full system imo is the only way to go on any bike slip on as far as I'm concerned are a waste of money for little or no different over stock for most bikes sweet busa👌👌👌👌
I beg to differ with the slip-on not being better than stock statement. I have had 5 different bikes. And replaced the stock with slip-on. And immediately noticed a difference in midrange
I have a gen 1 Busa with k&n and aftermarket exhausts but I'm disappointed at the hp of My bike I believe it probably similar power wise as this one was at the first run.
07-16 are basically the same bike. Minor changes in those years. 2017+ is when they introduced a new look. There’s probably a little bit difference in the motor and what not, quick shifters, but in general they aren’t making much more power at all over the 07-16 bikes.
Why when you test the bike you are not on it? Cause bikes with more hp maybe spin on dyno! And when you testing it you dont let it hit redline! Just a question!! Goodjob btw keep going!!!
No body mentioned this, but the weak link on the gen. 1 Hayabusa are the front brakes. Yes, the newer bikes make much more power, but the worst thing about those 99-07 'busa's are the brakes. I still love my 2007 though, and would never sell it!

If its a Gen 1 with only 4400 miles, it's likely to have some sticky rings, tight valves etc just from sitting for almost 20 years. Needs a good running in to free everything up again like Chris is doing.

@@moorepower13 I'd try running Rotella T6 through it in an attempt to clean everything up and see if that helps. Being a diesel oil, it has a ton of cleaning additives and is wet clutch compatible.
Here is an idea..There is a product for gas and diesel called max milage..Pittsburge power was the 1st seller and its ment for burning exhaust better..Might be worth a look..I talked to them ages ago about useing it on gas engines..

Looks like the valve guide seals are leaking a bit. Right exhaust moves more than left side. Had that on my SV. Why use 5th gear for pulls? Different maps for all gears?

Thsts plenty of HP, have a geb1 with 167, exhaust, K @ N filter and PC5....nothing like a modern 1000cc but still plenty quick with heaps of torque. It's all about getting it running sweet on the Dyno. Love both Generations.. but like the gen1 more. Great bikes, great motors, enjoy.

I ride a gen 1, and it’s no where near jerky. 1300 four cilinder is smooth as butter. Its real easy to drive 40, in anny gear. From 1 to 6.. it all runs smooth.

I’d like to make a trip of it and schedule a dyno and tune apt w you, a we discussed previously, and then do your track class the next day….if possible. My question is are you game to do the tune on the bike after the supercharger install? We are doing a few other mods at the same time and would like to do multiple tunes, one for pump gas and one for MR12

Can an 01 hayabusa be flashed? I think I read something saying they couldnt be. Second question is can you pull a log from the computer or something to tune the air/fuel ratio? I just dont understand how it works with the bike not on the dyno. Just a generic tune maybe?
Do people just buy bikes in America and not ride them? I see all these videos with bikes from the early mid 2000's with less than 10 thousand miles on them. Then anything with 20 thousand miles or more is "high mileage"?
Back in the day mine did 158 hp stock. One night did a top end pull was up around 180 it was still pulling. Ran 1:34@ Big Willow. It was a wicked bike that power to weight ratio crazy

Talking about your numbers on CBR's I'd say you're pretty accurate. My CBR1000rr '16 put down 167hp/89tq. In Panhandle FL middle of summer.

Slip ons are good for cosmetics and to save a few lbs. I've had some workout a tune that made me loose power and caused a rough idle.

Chris why do you and others not have a flash for the 2001 Hayabusa (1999 and 2000 I can see because they were unrestricted)?
It's because they have older 16 bit ECU and it is not capable.

This Busa probably has old fuel in the tank. Replacing it with new fuel and a tune up makes a great difference

I agree but you can get some good improvements with some braided lines plus some better pads and rotors without spending a lot of money. Busa 07.

All Dynos can be very different mate. Up to 3 to 6 hp difference. Just ride and enjoy your steed.

Busa's only. 186 mph limit. 157 hp may not make it though. The 1:1 gear ratio thing. That makes a lot of sense.

all of these old busa's have the fuel filter clogged to some degree by now. bypass mod it for easy gains.

Can an 01 hayabusa be flashed? I think I read something saying they couldnt be. Second question is can you pull a log from the computer or something to tune the air/fuel ratio? I just dont understand how it works with the bike not on the dyno. Just a generic tune maybe?

Do people just buy bikes in America and not ride them? I see all these videos with bikes from the early mid 2000's with less than 10 thousand miles on them. Then anything with 20 thousand miles or more is "high mileage"?
So does that mean the 2018 cbr1000 at 169hp at the wheel is faster than this gen 1 busa at 157 atw?
Considering the 100 lb difference in weight. The CBR would walk away easily.

Back in the day mine did 158 hp stock. One night did a top end pull was up around 180 it was still pulling. Ran 1:34@ Big Willow. It was a wicked bike that power to weight ratio crazy
