This year I decided to completely dye my hair a color I never have before. That happened to be Green/Emerald.
Check out my very honest review of both Arctic Fox Hair Color and Manic Panic Hair Dye.
I think both companies are awesome especially since their hair dyes are vegan, cruelty-free, and super conditioning so you won't damage your hair.
ALSO: As I said, this is a 100% honest review. Please do not give me a thumbs down just because you do not like my opinion on the mentioned hair dyes. It's MY OWN opinion based on the experience I have had with both of these products. Not everyone will experience the things I did. If you had a better experience, great! If you had a not so good experience, I'm sorry to hear that!

I'm a frequent dyer. I prefer using artic fox because it stays in longer (depending on how many times you wash it) and it also gives better color and doesn't wash out as quickly. So Yep there's my opinion.

Just wanna give a heads up for dark haired people like myself: If you have dark brown hair and you use Purple Rain from Arctic Fox, it is still going to be purple in the end :) It's just going to look more like black with purple highlights or a dark shiny purple, which I actually like more. It's not going to be vibrant light purple, but it is still going to show up if you have dark hair. Just a heads up! :D

I used manic panic once, ALL OF IT washed out the next day and there was no trace of ever having used it. Arctic fox stays in longer and covers much more evenly and after the first few days, at least with mine, it only really bleeds for a few minutes after using shampoo. I prefer arctic fox over manic by a landslide.
+Amanda Mays Oh my goodness, that must have been awful! Although manic panic lasted for maybe a month for me, I agree that arctic fox performs a lot better. It's been over 5 months since I dyed with it and my hair is still slightly tinted green haha!
The thing is, you need to bleach your hair or use a primer or semi permanent hair dye doesn't stick.

I used to have a problem with manic panic coming out on everything and I found that online they tell you how to seal in the color, it's something like a mixture of vinegar and water like 1:1 ratio I think it's on their website but it helped it to stop getting on me when I sweat and stuff,and helped the color stay in for almost a whole month longer, I also used to use like the whole jar of manic and now I just use enough to saturate my hair but I do it on already damp hair instead of completely dry. I buy mine from Sally beauty and they're about 9 dollars a jar but I recently found that Walmart sells them online for about 8 dollars a jar. I love the colors and it's my go to brand, i also really love how it conditions the hair, like after I put the dye in my hair it gets softer
I wish I would have known that when I used Manic Panic. But I do understand semi-permanents tend to fade rather fast. I just wish the Enchanting Forest would have lasted a tad longer, because it was a beautiful shade. They do have a lot to choose from though, which is awesome. I never knew you could buy it from Walmart's website. That's pretty cool! I feel like a lot of people have to buy online and there's not many stores (besides hair suppliers) that sell them.

I've never had a problem with manic panic. It didn't bleed on my skin and used hot hot pink, after midnight and ultra violet, the only problem is that the ultra violet dye didn't Rlly show that much but the rest was fine. :)

yeah I always had great results with both if these brands but I noticed people do seem to have more problems with manic panic. I think it's because of whatever I use I keep the dye in overnight so they stick like crazy
When I used MP in high school, I always wrapped it in plastic and heated it a ton with a blow dryer. Then it would only bleed a little when I washed it, and not when I sweated, etc. And I am a super sweaty person. Perhaps the heat would seal it a little, kind of like how ironing or putting something in the drying after using Rit dye sets the dye.

Have tried arctic fox and love it! I love to purples reds and blues I used purple this time. I also noticed the grape smell with purple rain and I love it! My hair was not dried out with the color instead it was conditioned and nice to style after! It was a very easy clean up too! Did not get on anything after I rinsed it and the color stayed and faded to a nice light purple. I love it!
I don't have that problem with Manic Panic staining my pillows or anything. it does come out in the shower though. I'm thinking of going back to a natural black color

Thanks so much for this great video Nadine! You're telling what I really wanted to know since I was wandering how much Arctic fox would bleed. I experienced terrible stains on my clothes with Manic panic even in winter so have been looking for better products.
+MIU H. Thank you for taking the time to watch! I hope Arctic Fox gives you great results. I know some people say Manic Panic didn't bleed for them, but I know many other people, including myself, who had that issue. The only time I experience any sort of bleeding with Arctic Fox is while I'm washing it, some of the color will rinse out in the shower (which is obvious!) That's why I only try to limit hair washing to once a week or less. Dry shampoo is my best friend! :)
I'll have to try artic fox. I've been using punky color but it bleeds like crazy just like how you described manic panic. I've also tried ion color brilliance brights, the color came out amazing but it made my hair super dry and frizzy.
+AshuhLeeVlogs If you do, I'd love to see the results! The AF hair color is extremely long lasting. It's been 3 months since I've colored it and most of my hair is still saturated with a faded emerald color. When I used manic panic there was no trace of color whatsoever at the 2 month mark. Plus you don't have to worry about damaging your hair, because this color is all natural! :)

Hair damage can be tough to reverse! I notice that with Arctic Fox, my hair is super soft after I dye it from all the conditioners. Thanks so much for checking out my video!
Another thing that I found with Arctic Fox was that it didn't wash out easily whether it was swimming in a pool or showering. I have dark brown hair and had applied Poseidon over my hair which I had bleached and dyed a darker blue a few weeks before. Not only was the colour much more vivid and long lasting, I found that it didn't bleed much with straight water and conditioner. It was only when shampoo was used and even then, it didn't bleed that much (keep in mind this was not a colour treated hair shampoo). Plus clean up is sooooo easy and effortless...it's just a really great brand

I once dyed my hair with manic panic hot hot pink and it did stain on my hands if I went through my hair with them, but it didn't really bleed on my skin. It didn't last long at all though, You could really see the difference after just one shower so definitely gonna try Artctic fox next. Thanks for the review!
That was the only negative with MP. Otherwise, the color was beautiful and I didn't even mind that it didn't last as long. I was just super bummed about everything being the color of my hair when my hair touched it haha! Thanks for watching :)
this was a very good review!! I've used manic panic everytime i've dyed and just recently considered switching because like you, I dont bleach (dirty blondes !!!) and I dealt with the bleeding. this basically made my decision. thank you!

I've dyed with manic panic probably 6 times now with dark blues and greens and I've never had a problem with bleeding color on me or anyone I've used it one, not even my dog.

Yup, if you want! Since there are no harmful chemicals, they should be safe. Just be cautious and do a test patch to make sure your pup doesn't react to an ingredient.

Im actually going to look at these hair dyes today. I was just done with manic panic because some of their colors dont show up, and they wash out to early for me. Ill try Raw or Arctic fox! Thanks this really helped.

I've tried MP after midnight blue and enchanted forest: I loved the way these two colors showed on my hair. The colors were bright and lasted very very long. They didn't bleed at all, they only stained on my pillow but not always.
I wanted to try AF because it seem to stain less but it doesn't have the shades of dark blue or dark teal that MP has.
I would have to buy different colors to get a similar color to MP shades.
I'm worried I can mess up the color using AF. Wish they had more variety.
I hear you! AF is definitely coming out with more and more shades as they grow, so they may come out with what you're looking for, but MP does have an amazing variety to choose from. One of my favorite things is playing mad scientist to create a custom color, but I know it's nice to have the exact shade you're looking for without having to mix them!

Fox Lover that's awesome! I used to have pink highlights when I was younger. I do have virgin pink from arctic fox which I've mixed with other colors. But one of these days I'll have to do all of my hair pink :)
I've never experienced bleeding with Manic Panic, I always wash my hair with cold water straight after (I do that with every dye I use) and no bleeding. I really want to try Arctic Fox though since I've heard good things about it.
+Ashley Mey I'm glad to hear that you haven't had any problems! What colors have you used by them? Some people are saying that only certain colors give them problems which could be with the dye/pigments. Whenever I have dyed my hair with semi-permanent I use the coldest water I can and I hardly wash my hair. I know everyone's hair is different, so maybe mine just doesn't hold it as well. I would like to give MP another go down the road!
I've only used Voodoo blue and Sunshine so far, but I've read that you shouldn't apply any extra dye to it, just apply it where you need it and some people have said to mix conditioner with it as well.

I usually swing between AF and MP and as of this writing, AF online had the 4oz price at 7.99 vs going to sally's at 13.99 while MP online is $12 but at Sally's for 9.99. RECENTLY, it has been stated as of 2/3/2020 the 4oz would be 12.99 and 8oz for 16.99. Quality-wise, I find AF to be GREAT in smell AND in terms of durability, it doesn't fade that much.
This is considering that I usually shampoo every other day while conditioning almost every day.
I do the same thing! And also I actually find when I mix hair dyes, I get a much better overall result and it seems to last longer too. I haven't used MP since this, but I do use a combo of AF and IroIro which work very well together. Hair dye is so tricky, because the formulas interact with our hair so differently. I'm lucky, and can get away with letting my hair go for long periods of time without washing, because it's extremely dry with limited oil production, so I stick to dry shampoo. As of right now, I've had my hair a pastel turquoise since October, and at this point I'm actually wanting it to fade :P
I'm going to have to try arctic fox. I've been using ION from Salley's beauty supply and it must be something in the mixture that is in it but it's causing me to break out (and the red bled from my tattoo, so the ink and hair dye must have something in common other than red 40 since nothing else is making me break out.) ION also bleeds like crazy. It lasts me roughly around 4 to 5 weeks before I have to redye it which is crazy good with red hair.
+Alyson Mills That's no fun when you have those kind of reactions. Apparently the Arctic Fox Hair Color is made with all natural ingredients, so maybe you will have luck with that. If you do decide to try it, I'd love to hear how it worked for you! :)
I just recently learned about Arctic Fox hair dye. I only seen it from Hot Topic although I haven't used it yet. I do like Manic Panic but as you said it does bleed but not bad as Splat. Splat hair color is so far the worst type for bleeding.

I agree with manic panic's bleeding. I currently have purple haze in my hair and every morning when I wake up I have to wipe the purple tint off of my face and forehead with a makeup wipe. I love the colors, but maybe I'll give Arctic fox a try next time :)
I know, that is the price we pay with semi-permanent hair color :P I can honestly say the only time I will ever notice any kind of bleeding with Arctic Fox is within a day or two when I first dye it and don't wash all of it out, because I tend to dye my hair late at night and rush to get it done haha! But other than that, I don't have any issues. :)
^~^ just mentioning.. Manic panic actually has smaller bottles I believe.. But they are "amplified" and come in a squeeze bottle

urm when I colored my hair with manic panic, I never had a problem with bleeding. Not even when I got into bad rain. I mean in pouring rain every hair colour gets out but it wasnt that bad.
Lena Kujawa everyone has their own experience with it. I know I did experience a lot of bleeding, but you didn’t. Some have and some have not I’m happy you didn’t have any problems with their hair dye.
I only had the bleeding issue with the vampire red. The atomic turquoise didn't bleed as much, but the arctic fox without the bleeding sounds like a plus. Sally Beauty carries Manic Panic and sometimes there are coupons if you want to buy it there again. You have pretty long hair, how many bottles of arctic fox vs manic panic did you use to dye it?
+Brittnissx3 I think I want to give MP another try, but it drove me nuts! I understand that's how semi-permanent dyes are. And Manic Panic is soo pigmented that it's expected. After I had already ordered my MP, my mom mentioned seeing it at her local beauty supply store and she gets a discount, so that is something I will consider down the road. For the Manic Panic, I used 1 full 4oz. jar, and maybe 1/3 of the 2nd jar. So you need quite a bit. Since I used 2 colors from Arctic Fox, I used maybe like 1/3 of the 8oz. bottle of Phantom Green & 1/4 of the Aquamarine. So there is still plenty left to do my hair a few more times. Yes it does! I was thinking it'd be cheaper to buy MP but since Arctic Fox has more ounces it would make sense to buy it. The prices almost comes out the same with the shipping costs. I'm so conflicted lol.
+Brittnissx3 I know how you feel! If you haven't tried AF, I say maybe just get a small bottle to try and see if it's worth your while. With it being such a new company, I took a gamble but was really thrilled with it. And MP is always there to fall back on. You never know! :)

Sorry I missed your comment!! I would say using the phantom green with a smidge of blue whether it's aquamarine or poseidon should work. I don't know that it would have turned out super bright if you're hair is naturally dark, but it should give a beautiful emerald tint to your hair! :) If you already tried it, I'd love to hear how it turned out for you!

Holly maybe she didn't rinse her hair well enough. I always and a little shampoo while I'm rinsing these kinds of dyes out.
I bought manic panic hair dye. Amethyst and violet. What would recommend the process of dying would be from brown to purple?
Sorry I didn't get to your comment right away! That's a tough call. If you just want a subtle tint to your hair, I would just recommend putting the color over your hair and leaving it on a couple of hours. If you want it super pigmented, you would probably have to lighten it a few shades. It depends how dark the brown is. I'd say just try it on the brown and see how it gets, it may surprise you with how pigmented it turns out!
Loved your video! I have lilac hair right now and I used Punky colours but I've wanted to try arctic fox. I've been wanting to do a teal color but wasn't sure if AF phantom green and aquamarine would do it. Do you think mixing the two would do it?
that's awesome! I used both of those colors and got my emerald color. I'd say for a more teal look put more aquamarine and a smaller amount of the phantom green then do a test patch :)

Did you use the Manic Panic Amplified Dye range? I have used the hot hot pink and haven't had any bleeding or colour transfer. I would be nervous to go out in the rain with it tho. lol.
Kimmi nope just the classic cream formula. If they would have had the color I wanted at the time in the Amplified I would have gotten it because I know they say it lasts longer!!
How often do you have to wash your hair to get actic fox color out? I got pastel pink hair and looking for another product because Directions & Manic Panic don't really work for me any longer. Sure pastel pink will wash out better than green but I still want to know how often you have to wash your hair till it's all out, just to get an idea of it

+anna silbereis I understand what you mean perfectly! I know it's different for everyone, but I've had it in my hair over 4 months and there's still a hint of green left in my hair. I wash my hair maybe once a week or sometimes even less. I can't wash it excessively because I have super dry hair. In between washes I use dry shampoo. I would say if you are someone who washes daily or every other day it will wash out much quicker. Plus other factors will play in on what type of shampoo or hair products are used (Does it have sulfates or alcohol in it) or if you use heat on your hair a lot (Which I do not), that will make it come out also. Hope this helped! :)
Because I have curly hair all I use is natural products, It's almost summer and I live in Florida, I am a natural blonde and I would like to try Arctic Fox I've dyed my hair before but not with this brand! How long do you think it will last?
It all depends on multiple things! Personally, I wash my hair roughly once a week (I have super dry hair and I use dry shampoo when I need a touch up), I use color-safe, natural based shampoos that don't have any sulfates. I don't use a lot of heat on my hair and try to avoid products with alcohol in it. Doing that, makes the color last about 1 and a half to two months! It also will depend on the porosity of your hair and how well it holds onto color. In PA the summers do tend to get hot and humid, but that hasn't really affected my hair color so much. And I'm not sure if swimming in a pool will affect it or not. I feel like the chlorine might interfere with it just a bit, but I have not had any experience with it. Hope this helps!!
Ok, I have been using manic panic for a while, I used it when I did vampire red for 3 years and then I switched to Purple haze and had been doing that for about a year a little over a year. I want to try Arctic fox but I’m nervous to do you have any suggestions? I heard purple rain is a close match. But anything advice is appreciated thank you!
Sorry I am just seeing this comment! I'd say Purple Rain is definitely a good color match to that. It may not be exactly and the formulas are a bit different, but it should still give you a beautiful shade of purple! :)
Yep. Made up my mind. I love the green color. I recently dyed my hair green and was wondering if i should use arctic Fox again, or manic panic. I'll stay with arctic Fox.
Manic panic's color was absolutely beautiful, but I just can't handle constantly having dye all over myself and everything my hair touches!

Yea, the bleeding sounds bad. Even using arctic, sweating does little but not like you mentioned with manic panic, that sounds really bad. I wanted like a bright dark green, your think maybe mixing the two arctic greens? Could that do it?
kari rose arctic fox has never given me a problem, but I’d recommend phantom green and adding a tiny amount of Transylvania. Or mixing phantom green and aquamarine would be a good combo as well. ☺️

I am currently looking at semi-permanent hair color to dye my hair since Halloween is around the corner. I don't want whatever i dye my hair to leave behind this horrible residual color, and I am trying to keep from having to damage my hair since it is natural at the moment. I was wondering if Arctic Fox left behind a really bad residual color. I have heard several stories about Manic Panic, and i was actually looking at the Enchanted Forest color, but I like to get all the facts before i make my decisions.
+Courtney Birdwell I will be honest with you: It's been just a few days short of 3 months since I colored my hair with AF and there is still quite a bit of green in. However, It's a really pretty diluted shade of what I would expect the Phantom Green to be. When I used Manic Panic it washed out much quicker, but the color that was left in was also a really light shade of emerald and I didn't mind. The only thing you can do is maybe just take a chance and try one of them. If you find that it is not coming out or you don't like the color any more, there are home remedies that you can do that won't damage your hair such as hot oil treatments to strip the color out. I will say Enchanted Forest is such a beautiful color and if you truly feel you want to go with it, I say go for it. Again everyone has different hair textures, types, etc. so the lasting effect will vary especially depending on your natural shade/tint, if you use hair products, and how often you wash it (and what you wash it with). sooooo I was thinking of dying my hair green and I've been wanting to use Phantom Green From Arctic Fox butttt Im not quite sure how green it looks like because I've been to the website and the green looks really bright and shiny. any tips on how to make it dark? orrrr is it already dark. hence I have black hair and might bleach somewhat.

+Jaymee Lugo Sanchez I swore I replied to this comment! But if your hair is currently dark, the green will show up dark as well. Like it will just be tinted that shade. It's hard to say how it will exactly show up, because it depends on how well your hair takes color. I have like a deeper blonde hair color and if you have seen my other videos prior to this one, the color was very pigmented. I left it on for a couple hours on virgin hair and that's the result I got. All you can really do is if you are looking to color it, do a test patch of hair and see what it turns out. If you want it quite noticeable, you probably will have to lighten your hair somewhat. Hope that helped!

Ahh I dyed my hair with ion last night and it washed all out. I just got Manic earlier today and I’m gonna try it, but if it doesn’t work my last option is Artic. I had to make a quick decision earlier in the store so I just took some manic and payed. Every single hair color I’ve had has washed out of my hair in less than a month. I’m hoping that manic will work this time. Other then that I just wanna yeet my hair as every single time I’ve dyed it it turns into a different shade of blonde. I dye it blue, it turns dirty blonde, dye it pink it turns light blonde, dye it burgundy it turns golden.
I'm so sorry I'm just seeing your comment now! How did your hair color turn out? It's so tricky. I'm fortunate that my hair grabs on to the color really well, but then that means if I want to change the color, i have to wait or just bleach it out. If you can stand it, try leaving the color on for as long as possible, like a few hours, to really let it color well. I noticed many hair dyes advise you to leave it only for only like 30 minutes, and I feel that is barely enough time for it to take hold and really soak into the hair. Plus you hair gets super smooth and soft the longer you leave it on! :)
Nadine Cheri it turned out pretty good for my luck! It was supposed to be dark blue but turned like emerald green. It still looked good on me and is now a mixture of dirty blonde and green. Kinda like it’s ‘tinted’ green ya know?
I've been dying my hair with Manic Panic for many years now, and I've never had it come out when sweating or being rained on etc. If you follow the directions on the tube, and only leave it in for 30 minutes that may be why. I leave mine in for 5-6 hours (again, it's harmless and conditioning) so when I go to rinse it out with cold water, NO colour even washes out because it was all soaked into my hair really well. Only suds come out!! And the dye will last me 1-2 months depending on the shade. And I shower like normal, washing my hair a few times a week in hot water too. Or it could be your actual hair itself isn't good at retaining the dye?
I did exactly as it stated in the instructions and even left it on for at least an hour and a half. When I dye my hair with semi permanent color, I only wash it about once a week and use the coldest water. I think you may be correct about it not jiving with my hair. The formula just didn't mesh well with it. I think Manic Panic hair color is extremely beautiful and they have some awesome colors. Wish I could have had better luck with it!
Was your hair bleached before you dyed it green? I have a darkish brown hair color and I want green but not sure what to use. I've done it once with Jerome Russell but I wasn't happy with it.
+Emme Fraser Nope, I didn't bleach it either of the times I dyed my hair green and it turned out very pigmented with both brands. My natural color is like darker, almost dirty blonde. Really all you can do is do a test swatch and see how your hair holds it. I know with most manic panic colors you have to bleach your hair, but if you dye with Arctic Fox on darker hair, it will just be that color as a darker shade of it if that makes sense!

Well the struggle is definitely real! It rains quite a bit here in PA too so I know how you feel. It's actually raining right now! :P Arctic Fox has good staying power. I noticed that the first couple times I washed my hair, some color came off, but only after I added shampoo to my hair. I would say as long as you don't get soaking wet, you should be in good shape! :)
Have you tried swimming with Arctic fox? I'm going swimming soon and wanted to know how much the chlorine would fade my hair. it's been on for almost a month now, and i used purple rain. it slowly faded to a light pink, which still looks nice. but I just didn't know how much it would fade within swimming for 3 days.
That's one thing I've never tried! To be honest I haven't gone swimming in years. hahah! I would think the Chlorine may alter it a bit, but I'm not sure. One of these days I will have to find a pool and test it out. Sorry I don't have info on that, but if you do decide to give it a try, please let me know how it worked out!

I'm not sure if you bleach your hair or not, but if you don't bleach your hair manic panic always bleeds. also you have to wash it out properly when you first wash it after dying or else it will bleed.
+CodeMisery I did not bleach it. Mine was actually virgin hair when I dyed it with MP. I can understand what you're saying. I might not have washed it out 100% right when I dyed it at first, but I know that the whole time my hair was colored with MP up until it was almost gone, the color would still stain things (especially my hands and fingernails). I guess that's the price you pay with semi-permanent dyes and MP is super pigmented. Plus everyone's hair is different and holds the color differently. Thanks for your input!

Sorry I didn't see this sooner! If you're looking to see which brand lasts longer, I'd say Arctic Fox. When I used Manic Panic, I loved the color, but the formula stayed in my hair for a month max. But when I used Phantom Green from AF, it lasted months!
+Nadine Cheri ok, thanks! I'll keep that in mind if I ever go green. But I'm not sure if I can wait for the red to fade completely bc it was a month (11 washes) before I dyed it again so it wouldn't get too fadey. And I don't feel comfortable bleaching my hair.

SWEETHEART STACEY if you use either of these hair dyes, you can leave them on as long you want and it will not damage your hair. Now if you actually bleach your hair, that will. But just the hair color alone will not and is super conditioning actually. I prefer arctic fox but the choice is up to you :)
i use manic panic, never had an issue with bleeding. I've been in the rain and sweating at the gym...did they not rinse it out?
I cannot speak for the girl I saw in the rain. As for myself, whenever I dye my hair, I ensure to thoroughly rinse my hair and once finished I run it under the coldest water. Even after a few washes with MP, I found that the color would get all over and sometimes stain clothing or parts of my body so I had to be careful. I've mentioned many times that this is just the experience I had using that dye. Maybe it was my hair, the formula used, or just a rare thing. However many people have reported the same thing happening so I know it is not just me. I'm sure a lot of people have never had issues with it either. Some things work for others while some things do not. Because no one had identical hair, results are going to vary for everyone.
I use Manic Panic and my hands are'nt as colored as you mention it. Just a little bit after washing and just on the nail. Maybe i dont see it because I use Fushia shock color and the pinkness is close to the skin tone. Of course, dont go to the rain with a semi-permanent dye, it's madness with light colored clothes.
You must wash your hair once to have no problem with your clothes and fingers.
+hamehbe I think it may have something to do with other shades of the product. I know the formulas tend to vary, so some may bleed and others may not. I'm glad to hear that you didn't have any issues with it :)

Most likely it won't
When you first dye your hair, when it's wet, some color may run off as this is normal with semi-permanent hair color. And if you're swimming in a pool, I don't know how well the dye would do with Chlorine. You'd just have to try and see! Take caution though if you're not sure!
Will acrtic fox hair die ruin or mess up your natrual hair color when it disapers or will it be pretty normal to what it was before?

I dyed my natural hair and I still had a hint of green in my hair right before I just recently colored them purple/gray, but that's only because I am not a frequent washer. They say the color can last up to 40 washes or so, and I'm not sure if I came even close to that many washes since I only do so once a week to once every two weeks if I can (dry shampoo is the best!). Other than that, my hair texture and quality was exactly the same as it was prior to coloring if that is something you're worried about! Hope that answered your question :)

Manic panic never left traces anywhere on me, but what I did have was more saturation on one side like you are showing and quick fading. Is Arctic Fox Hair Color available at Sallys?
I took this from their website: "Arctic Fox is currently available in most Hot Topic locations, and select salons." You could definitely check Sally's since this is becoming a more popular brand and see if they carry it. And perhaps if you request it, they may get it in stock :)

Nadesha Alves you may see it slightly. It will look like your hair has a green tint to it, it won't be super vibrant as it would on lighter hair. Hope this helps!
Watch out with using brown and black dyes. They are known a higher risk at causing allergic reactions.

+arroma1990 I would say roughly one month, yes! With me it was still vibrant for at least 2. And the color remained noticeable in my hair for awhile after that. It really depends on how well your hair holds the color, how much you wash it, and whether or not you heat style it and use alcohol based products. I hardly wash my hair and swear by dry shampoo which is how I managed to keep it in so long. They say generally the color will be completely gone in 40 washes.

i have medium brown long thick hair. tried manic panic once. made my hair dark brown with a hint on purple in certain light at the roots. every day i would have to wash my neck because it would be purple. it got in the collar of all my clothing. it lasted a week before the hint of purple was gone. they have cute colors but i would never use again. waste of money because it takes 2 tubs and doesn't last long. i had better results with a drug store brand of bright red dye.
That stinks! It's such a shame, because Manic Panic is a reputable brand. I'm actually trying out some of their makeup products right now. I love them and they're such good quality. However, the hair dye fell short for me also. Maybe someday they can switch up their formulas, because the color selection is amazing!
Did you bleach your hair before dying? If you use their dyes you might want to bleach before using it. It gives a better result :0
maybe its because I use a red color from manic panic but I have never had a problem with it bleeding when i touch my hair etc :3 thats to bad it did that for you though!

Next time you use manic panic try bleaching your hair. The lady who did my hair purple for me told me that if you are dying your hair an unnatural color than it needs to be bleached so the color will take to it better.

+Cecilia Vu You don't have to bleach. I didn't, as I applied the color to my natural medium ash blonde hair. The color still came out very vibrant. If your hair is darker, the color will just be darker shade of it. So if you have dark brown hair, it will show somewhat, but maybe not as good as if your hair was lighter. So far I've had the the color in my hair for over 3 months and although it's quite faded, most of my hair is a pretty, light green color. I'm actually planning on filming an update video and then going to try to remove the green so I can color again with a different AF shade :) As with all semi-permanent hair color, it will gradually wash out. It will depend on how often you wash and the kinds of products you use. Lately, I have been using baking soda while washing or shampoo with sulfates and the color has yet to completely wash out!

Manic panic would never stay in my hair. Even when it did cling, it would wash out in like two days even with sulfate free shampoos. I found Punky Color, and that stuff would stay and even showed up on my dark hair. I have yet to try arctic fox though.
I was lucky enough that the manic panic held up for about a month. I know it is frustrating, but with semi-permanent color, it tends to happen. I have never heard of Punky Color before, but that's awesome it worked well for you. if you ever do try Arctic Fox, I hope it gives you good results! :)
They sell Punky Color in some Ulta stores. I don't know if it is cruelty free or vegan but I used a teal color on my dark brown hair and it held up great and didn't look crappy like most colors look over dark brown hair. I was really impressed by the intensity. Im exited to try arctic fox. I just got the bottom of my hair and bangs professionally bleached and Im exited to put some color on it. +Plummie Dear That is a great question! When I used MP, it took like 1 and half jars so let's say 6 oz. I think it was about the same with AF. I used probably 1/3 out of each Aquamarine and Phantom Green. So that's about 5-6oz. My hair is quite long and thick also. My mom is a professional hair dresser, so she did the coloring for me each time I colored it and knew how much dye to use. However, I've recently been doing it myself and because I like to experiment with the colors I just add a bunch of colors and mix them together not really focusing on how much is being used. Although I can say, except the time I didn't know what I was doing and used a whole bottle of Arctic Mist, I still have a lot of dye left in my bottle of Aquamarine and I've been using that color pretty heavily lately. It's the same bottle I used the first time I dyed my hair green, so maybe that gives you a good idea! :)

Which one faded the most on your hair?
Out of these colors, Manic Panic. Even after I was super careful with washing and using product in my hair, I would say it was completely gone sometime around two months, if that. With Arctic Fox, the color just keeps lasting for quite a few months where it is still very noticeable in the hair. For me at least 3!

Artic fox did nothing to my hair I left it in for double the amount of time it said and I have blonde hair and it did nothing to it. But I love crazy colour and comes out on my hair really well
Meeliee 97 yeah I don’t think the formula works for everyone. Have you tried iroiro at all? It’s another brand I started using and love it a lot! But if crazy colour works on your hair, I say keep using it 😊
Even though this is vegan and doesn't harm your hair that much, do you still have to use bleach to lighten your hair?
+Victoria Moretz You don't have to bleach your hair, but it really depends on the effect you're going for. I have like a dirty blonde natural hair color and I put it over that and it was very vibrant. if you have darker hair, it will tint your hair and just won't be as noticeable as it would be if your hair was lighter. +Victoria Moretz Unfortunately to get the most color pay off or when doing a pastel shade, your best bet is to lighten your hair. You don't necessarily need to use bleach. However, it still may take very well to your hair and show up nicely as the hair dye is very pigmented. You just may have to leave it on quite a long time, like a few hours. You could leave it on a whole day if you really wanted and it will not hurt your hair. Typically when I color my hair, I will leave it on no less than 1 hour. I have seen images of people who put it on darker hair and it was still such a beautiful shade. All you can do is give it a try and see how it works for you. The results may surprise you! :)

Probably too late but: I use it with thick conditioner. Doesn't bleed on me, but after 2 washes on me, but that might just be my hair. It starts out as bright pink and goes to rose gold and to my bleached base color :p.
Used Arctic Fox and it ruined my hair. Had to fix it and dye over it with Manic Panic, which still looks amazing.

+Nadine Cheri Tried to do my hair half pink and half blue (pastel using their diluter), and it was extremely blotchy, not close to pastel, and turned my roots orange and green. My hair was extremely light blonde, almost white, so any dye should've worked on it.

They might have given you something to compensate for that happening. I know with them being a newer company, they're still working on the formulas. But I'm glad you were able to fix it!

Never reached out to them directly since honestly I was so upset I just wanted to forget it happened. I wanted to dye my hair those colors for years so it was disappointing when it turned out so badly. Within 24 hours I ran out to Sally's to get the dye to fix it lol. And the dye I did purchase from Arctic Fox came directly from their website so honestly I dunno, did spend a ton of money on it though and it went to waste :/ and thank you (:

+Mini cooper That is a great question! I'm not 100%, but I would think that the pigmentation in the hair dye would allow that. Someone with that color hair would need to try it, because I honestly don't think I've seen any results with that. I'd love to find out!
