- Another video in the "Does It Work On Dark Hair" series!! I got a ton, a TON of comments requesting Manic Panic so I definitely needed to try this on my unbleached dark hair. To add a bit of a twist I decided to try the Manic Panic 40 Volume Bleach kit on a strand of my hair! It was for a previous video but I wanted to show you guys how it did and the results! I definitely wouldn't do it on my entire hair just because bleach is pretty harsh, I'd rather get that done professionally. But it could be cool for the tips since they are easy to cut off! I used the Wildfire Amplified formula! Let me know what you think and I hope you like this "Does Manic Panic Work On Dark Hair" video!!

Rinsing hair story: So you're supposed to wash this out with cold water only. Usually no issue but for some reason that day there was NO cold water coming out of our faucets. I tried the shower and none there either. I was freaking out cause it was ready to wash out and thinking what am I gunna do!! lol Well Bruce was like "i'll help you". He grabbed measuring cups, pots and pans and started filling them with water and sticking them in the freezer! He waited a few minutes for it to cool down and then had me stand over the shower where he poured the pots/pans of coldish water over my head- "Little house on the prairie" style haha pretty much like the power was out! It took fooorever haha probably an hour of me standing over the shower waiting for the water to cool up for another "session" of pots/pans (since i didn't want to drip dye everywhere). Finallly we washed it all out so round of applause for Bruce hahaha smart thinker!

Finally someone with dark hair that hasn't bleached their hair before testing out these products. 👌 I have dark hair and don't want to bleach it, so it's nice to see what might work better.
if you do try it on dark hair, leave it on as long as possible, i've even heard of people wearing it overnight. Its not going to hurt your hair like regular dyes if you do this. It'll make the color deeper and last longer

What I've found from my personal experience, manic panic comes out the most vibrant (even on dark hair) works the best when you leave it for a few hours. This formula is literally like a leave in conditioner. Previously I've left it in for 4 hours and thr vampire red amplified gave me the prettiest shade of burgundy over my dark hair even in dim lighting. Eventually I wanted more so I bleached my whole head and ended up with fire truck red colored hair after using vampire red! I always tell people that I dye my hair with the blood of my enemies as a joke lmao.

Strip your hair/bleach or use color correcter and wait a week or 2 before doing anything (all options can really damage your hair if you decide to dye it completely after) because you can't dye over dye especially black. If you try to dye over it will probably end up patchy or you may have a really muddy color (like mixing red and brown paint) or it won't even take
Josselyn Curotto depends on how long ago you dyed it black! I've done it before about a month and a half after I had dyed my hair black and it came out to a dark burgundy color.
Prislove I used Pillarbox Red. It didn't stay in my hair. My hair was bleachedit did a better job of dying my shower, rugs, and skin. I use Sparks.

Yea, the bleach and dye are both vegan and bleaching my hair with manic panic was actually less damaging than going to a salon and it was more cost effective for me
I just discovered what takes it completely off your hands if you use ur bare hands like I do. Tide pods. Lol! I was desperate and decided to try it! Your welcome everyone! Haha!

I usually scrub my hands with hand Sanitizer then once the alcohol has removed most the colour I wash my hands with baking soda . This also works on bathtubs
I dyed my dark brown hair with the manic panic vampire red and it turned out pretty vibrant :) And you still see it after 2 months!

Please try the Korean brand April Skin Turn-Up Color Treatment! It’s a temporary hair dye that lasts for 2 weeks, it’s supposed to work like hair treatment so your hair will feel smooth n soft right after!

I used rockabilly blue on my dark - ish brown hair and I left it in for an hour and a half I think and it turned my hair minty green

I used to use manic panic a long time ago on I bleached dark brown hair and it worked, try purple.
They work on darkest hair but with developer ,although i didnt want to use one myself ,so your videos are realy helpful as i always wo ndered if any of them will work without developer . Thank you

I have medium brown hair. And Carmel highlights. And about a year ago I used this color. And it turned out really good. Although, I ended up using a stripping product and got most of it out. When I went to the hairdresser I got my highlights touched up. And they turned orange from this red. It took forever to get out. So just beware of that!!!!

I don't like the idea to bleach my hair. I have got black hair too, and some white, grey hair. i was wondering if may work to color the grey hair with deep purple dream? (manic panic)
You should try Da Vinci in whatever red color you like it works for black hair you should really try it and if you do get it. Get the developer with it so it can help for youe dark hair 😊
I koolaid dyed my hair and used manic panic on my roots and it all blended out it lasted for like a year and a half until I cut it out and I have never bleached or prof dyed my hair

I had someone bleach my hair awhile back and it went horribly wrong. They left the bleach in for 1 hour too long. And my hair turned out PINK.

Manic panic has been out for like 20 years. It’s the OG color conditioner. I had no idea there were so many semi permanent color dyes.
I use manic panic and it’s awesome! And if you put your hair in white vinegar, the color is even brighter.if you use it, don’t use shampoo when your washing the dye out. I have light brown hair I just dyed my hair voodoo blue.
How long did the voodoo blue last?
Do you mix the white vinegar into the dye?
after using manic panic does it our hair gets its original colour back?? or not after 2 or 3 wash??
It just sits on top of your hair, it does not effect your natural pigment. Everyone's hair is different but manic panic has always lasted at least a month or more for me.
My hair is jet black. I think it's even darker than yours. I lost all hope of dying my hair without bleaching it after seeing you try all these products. 😭😭😭

I tend to use directions hair dye, I especially love the reds, purples and blues

I'm no professional at hair but I dye my hair pretty frequently, please be carful doing these experiments on your natural hair, a few years back I was so eager for coloured hair so I took it upon my self and got blue hair dye and dyed my naturally dirty blond hair with this colour, once I washed it out it was a faint green colour and it stuck in my hair for months. I'm not sure if this'll happen to you because you have darker hair, but I'm just giving you a heads up.
hearteyeshowell coloring your hair with direct dyes (like manic panic) does ZERO damage to your hair! Obv using lightener (hair bleach) before u apply the direct color, will cause just slight damage...as far as it goes with your hair, most direct dyes need to be applied to BRIGHT blonde hair, so yours being only a dirty blonde before applying the blue, is the reason your hair turned green!! I've been licensed for 11yrs & I've seen it all lol and the only time your hair comes into causing damage is using developer & u do not use developer with direct dyes! If ur depositing color(making your hair darker thn it is) u use a low vol. 10, or if u gave gray u use 20vol.....lightener u need 20,30 or 40vol depending....applying highlights or sections of lightener once every couple of weeks is a ok!!😀
Well your hair was blonde and probably wasn't toned at all and your 'dirty blonde' was most likely a more 'yellow dirty blonde' hence when you put blue dye it turned green. Did u not test it beforehand?
Her hair is a very dark hence I'm sure she knows what she is doing. Even if she would to put blue on her hair it wouldn't show up at all or only make a tint.
Plus she always does small sections when experimenting.
Also almost semi permanent dyed are not damaging per say and almost all fade out into a different colour depending on what your original hair colour was before you dyed it and what base colour the dye was.
It's all about the colour wheel.
I'm no professional but have I did tons of research on this stuff and have dyed my hair about 8 times now no problems cuz I know what I'm doing.
JackieMec143 Well I was only 12 years old when I did this and really had no idea what I was doing. I used arctic fox hair dye which was surprisingly strong and some how stuck to my natural hair with no bleach used what so ever. When I got my whole head bleached the stylist said when he was bleaching it my hair went green before blond and it's because my lack of colour theory. I used to dye my hair a new colour every 2 weeks, from pink, to blue, to orange and so on. It just messed up my hair but I have a lot more knowledge on hair.
I used this on my daughter pink on top and purple on bottom and nothing so I designed to put the purple all through and wait and it went gray😢

I’m just gonna throw this out there that all of these dyes are direct dyes and therefor will not damage your hair. But manic panics bleach kit is garbage.

i wanted to see if anyone else had bad experiences w the manic panic hair dye, i had the purple one, i have dirty blonde basically brown hair, mine did show up but it faded within 2 days. I have super short hair, so its not like its i didnt have enough product, i have like a pixie cut kinda but i shaved all of my head besides my bangs, which were pretty thick I’m suprised at the red, but I wouldn’t do it on my short hair but when i grow it out on my tips.
