  • For whatever reason New Era fitted hats sometimes tend to shrink over time and they no longer fit us as comfortably as they used to on our head. This video shows you how to stretch your hat out in an easy, safe, and effective manner

    Why are people so mad he talked a bit in the beginning? He’s going out of his way to provide a free informational video to the public, not to mention you can just fast forward if you are that bothered.
    Thank you for taking the time to share your methods on UA-cam.

    The easiest & most effective method that is also very efficient is by using a common Irwin Quick Grip clamp that is available at most hardware stores. These clamps are "reversable" meaning they work great as a stretcher; which is the opposite of a clamp. One the stretch is applied, just let it sit overnight. When you try it on on the morning, you will be amazed.

    It took you six minutes to tell people to pull really hard and stretch it. Wow! So this is my black cat it's kind of like my black hat and it has a sticker and I like it and this is in another hat and today I'm going to be telling you how to stretch hats. (Yeah we needed that setup because the title didn't suffice). Before I go right into it though I should probably tell you about my Blackhawks hat.

    You know what's funny, I actually bought a new suit and was measured to have it tailored yesterday. No joke. I was not asked (nor have I been asked before when being fitted) hence why I assumed it may be a regional term, but hey I'll take your word for it haha. Learn something new every day.

    what are the material of the two hats?.. the material or the weave pattern should be an indication of whether it'll stretch or not

  • @EnzoFirrari2k6
    @EnzoFirrari2k6 11 років тому

    Hahaha I appreciate your concern, but I did actually look it up after I posted my last response (I mean I'm sitting at the computer what excuse do I have not to?). To answer your question I'd have to say naturally to the left...but for some reason more comfortably the right ;) I'm sure anyone else reading these comments is super interested lol. I had it tailored just to make adjustments so yeah it was off the floor not custom for me (needed it asap and not too spendy).

    To be honest I highly doubt it, because you are trying to jump 2 sizes. This is mainly meant for hats that are your normal size and they just shrunk over time due to normal wear. That being said, it doesn't hurt to try! just don't get your hopes up
    *Also if you live in a city with a new era flagship store they can stretch it out for your for free with one of their machines. Just go to the new era website to see if your city has one*

    my head, according to the table at the website, measures between 7 1/4 and 7 3/8, where the 1/4 is tight on my head and the 3/8 is loose on my head. So for weirdos like me, buy 7 1/4 and stretch it till you hear a snap or two and boom. Perfect.

    Smiles, Hello. Its a well established tailoring term. Should you go to get a made to measure suit, a quality tailor, will always ask the gentleman on which side he "dresses". Just to insure that the trousers (pants) fit correctly. So no it isnt something I made up.Nor do I have the pleasure of asking a multitude of men which side they dress on. More's the pity :)

    Well the suit you brought yesterday was off the peg? That might be the reason why they did'nt ask the question. However, in my humble opinion they should have, if you have paid extra to have it tailored to your specifications. Feel free to Google the following term: On what side do you dress, Sir? I assure you it is not a colloquialism. Sometimes it can be dangerous taking a strangers word for anything, especially on YT! Euro suits do tend to be alot more fitted that its US counterpart ;)

    For anyone who actually wants to know how these hats keep their form, while this dude guesses, flip up the sweat band. You'll see a white plastic ring made of crosses plastic strings right where the sweat band meets the top of the hat. This plastic ring is what keeps the shape of the hat. When you hear a 'pop' you're hearing the plastic snap. When you heat the hat and it stretches this is the plastic becoming more malleable and stretching while hot.
    There, was that so hard to say?
