It has been my experience that on Ford throttle bodies it's not a problem as long as they are disconnected electrically. (I have done bunches of Fords) Other makes however, I can't say that. I think that Nissans where a little sensitive to things like that though and possibly other makes too.
Will it not put on the check engine light ? Or will it not need re calibrarion using a code reading computer device when we clean it by removing from the engine.
I have the same edge. It is surging a bit at stop lights. About 300-500rpm difference from normal idle. I was thinking might be throttle body? Was this your issue or just decided to clean it?
As far as I am aware, Ford coat the throttle bodies with something "special". I'm not sure if this applies to all of them. Either way, I've been told that they shouldn't be cleaned with the same aggressive solvents that you'd normally use.
Late to the party but a lot of older Ford vehicles that have mechanical throttle bodies had a warning sticker on the throttle body stating something to that effect. That being said the newer electronic throttle bodies are different. I’ve been cleaning MANY of these for years with no issue. Even the older ones with the warning I’ve cleaned. I’ve probably cleaned more of the old ones with the warning than the new ones. I’ve had no issue. However, If your vehicle is equipped with the older design and there is a warning on the throttle body then I’d have to say don’t clean it. That’s my official “safe” answer. Electronic throttle bodies….help yourself.
Nicely done video. Informative without useless info and mindless verbal diarrhea. Thanks !!
Some people say that manually opening the flap by hand will destroy the TB. Whats the background on this myth?

Can I use Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner?

Shouldn't. I've never had an issue. I've done a bunch.
Very detailed explanation, Thank You.
Glad it was helpful!
What about a 2013 ford fusion HYBRID SE
What exactly is your question?
Thank You.

I cleaned my as preventative maintenance..... and of course to make a youtube video. Did cleaning your throttle body resolve your issue?

i dont disconnect negative battery when i do mine because then i will have to do a throttle relearn procedure..which sucks!!!!
On a Ford? I've never had to do a relearn on a Ford and I've done a bunch. You working on something else?
What about the relearn
Ford electronic throttle bodies do not require a relearn.
