The sound is Number Station G04 nicknamed the three note odditty. It was a german speaking number station operated by the Hungarian intelligence. G04 transmitted on two different frequencies every first Sunday of the month at 20:05 and 20:35 UTC, the latter transmissions time being 100 kHz higher. During the winter the times changed to 21:05 and 21:35 UTC. The same transmission eventually repeated on Thursdays at the same times and frequencies. The voice it used was from an early model of the stasi sprach morse machine.
