My favorite mead based cocktail would be the "Old Reliable". Take your favorite Old Fashioned recipe and replace the simple syrup with mead. City Steading's " My First Mead" is a great suggestion, with it's higher sugar content.
I love that you dilute with vodka 😁
My favorite cocktail is my mead spritzer/cooler 6 oz dry mead 6oz of either 7up, sprite, or ginger ale over ice in a frosted pint glass.
im bottling some sweet stout (root beer) this morning... ngl im kinda excited!... gonna give these meadtinis a try with the wife... thanks for another good vid
Oh yeah sounds good even though I'm not a martini guy either. Might try that with my blueberry mead!
Stuff arrives for my prickly pear mead today... woohoo.
Cheers!
Sounds great!
Another great one to try out would be a lemon drop using a sweet mead as the simple syrup/sweetener. Love these meadtinis!
Thanks for this one, my favorite martini is a peachtini: 1 part Peachtree schnapps to 5 parts Tito's vodka. I have some cyser mead that I am not overly fond of, I will try to make a 'tini with it and see how it is.
Very nice im going to play around with some of my meads for cocktails!! I used to be a bartender, you're doing fine with the shaker lol. One little piece of advice though is put your ingredients in the smaller of the 2 and slap the bigger one on top. Ensures you dont put too much in and makes a better seal. Cheers guys!
Thank you! Cheers!
Danger sauce, Will Robinson! I loved this video. Absolutely will be getting the cocktail shaker out for meadtinis: shaken, not stirred. 🤣🍸
Crystal skull vodka is amazeballs and you get really cool bottles to fill up with mead later haha
Lol
Never seen Tito's ever, anywhere so it's Zubrowka Vodka for me. The alcohol oblitterates the more subtle mead flavors but I will try the mandarinmeadtini!
Hell yeah I’m here for it 😍😂
Beautiful change of pace. 🙂
I did your mead that had orange and lemon peel with raisins and it came out VERY orange. I make a drink with 1.5 of it and vanilla vodka shaken with ice. It's a cream sickle or the smoothies you could get at the mall way back when... Lol
Thanks for doing this been looking for ideas.
So I made a lime mead using the simply limeade juice that came to 14.5%. It reminded me of triple sec so I added ice, tequila, and grand marnier and made a Meadgarita. It's delicious!!!
Awesome!
Think I like your hair that way Best Darnica❤
I made your chocolate pomegranate wine but deviated and also used pomegranate syrup which made it way too sour to drink by itself. Instead, I’ve been enjoying it as a cocktail where I mix the wine, Japanese gin and maple syrup to taste, and it has been my favorite drink recently.
What a great idea🎉
Yummmm
I'm like Fred Minnick, VODKA SUCKS. BUUUUUUUUUUUTT, in a MEADtini, maybe not so much!!!! I GOT TO TRY THESE THIS SUMMER!!!! I have the pineapple Habanero mead a brewing and that will be the summer TINI!!!! CHEERS, thanks for the videos and impartation of your knowledge!! How does mead mix will Bourbon or American whiskey for cocktails? Maybe a MEADhatten??? either with a rye or bourbon? Interesting!
A nice change of pace👍
Glad you think so!
Gonna need to get some Shanky's Whip for my bottle of coffee mead. Side note that doesn't impact you in any way. Shanky's Whip has given me the ability to enjoy alcohol in coffee.
I am with you Gin sucks
Luksusowa is best vodka :-) The best vodka for the money imo.
Actually, my choice of Vodka is перепелка. I brought it back from Ukraine and I never tasted one better. That is no cut down to Tito's because that is a very good one too
Good morning guys !!!
🥇 First.
I m HERE🎉
The rice and raisin wine I made a while ago might be better as a cocktail. I guess I will find out when ever I open up a bottle and taste it again at some point. It was good just a little too sweet, because it did not ferment as high as I was hoping for. I think some sort of horchata inspired cocktail with rum would work really well with this wine. I think I made it and bottled it six or seven months ago? I am kind of curious what it taste like now.
Derica 😂❤
Congratulations on 6 yrs with the channel. I'm glad to have found you 2. Brian I have a question. Will you please direct me to a video to watch so I may learn how to calculate ABV. I had an OG of 1.104, after time it was 1.000. I added honey. so then get 1.020 .. and so on I recently watched a video where you did this.. You did a few additions and had to calculate the ABV. I can learn from that video if I knew which one to watch..
We have many... ua-cam.com/video/xNwNZgeTtIE/v-deo.htmlsi=_KFY6sBwYgsTw8Eg
@@CitySteadingBrewsThanks but not what I'm looking for. Wanting to add multiple readings. On same Batch.. You have an OG of 1.1000, wait after time take a reading it's .999 That is Aprox 13.6 %ABV now add honey to it, Because Yeast can go to 16% after adding honey take a reading and get 1.030. Wait 14 days (APROX) and get a reading of 1.000. That is 4.05% ??? Do I add 13.6% + 4.05% Is it 17% ?? ABV, (APROX)
A mead based mixed drink i made was inspired by Shaun of the Dead. I call it "You've got red on you"
1 oz of vodka
2 oz blackberry syrup
8 oz basic mead
Shake and pour over ice
I also hate gin bryan lol 😅
Tell me you finished those drinks off camera, LOL.
Yeah... wasn't that much really. We do a video for our VIP club and finished them during that.
Next Episode: Lets make Meadizzas
Pass. 😎
so, this comment had nothing to do with your video, but I didn't know where else to ask, what am I doing wrong with the math? 1.08-0.08x131.24=131.24 my abv can't be 131%
Subtract the numbers first. (Og-fg)x 135
Hi Brian and Derica! I received an email that your Meadowfoam honey was delivered. I know you have a forwarding service, but I wanted to let you know it arrived. All the best to you both!
Thanks! I just had it forwarded yesterday.
@@CitySteadingBrews I hope you enjoy it! I wanted to make sure you had enough to back sweeten so I got 4 lbs. 😁 You are awesome!!!
@@stonerainproductions Thanks so much!
Tito's is ok. But Belvidere, Chopin, and Grey Goose are better.
Did you guys finish the Meadtinis??😊
Yeah, during our VIP wrapup show.
Every time I hear a reference to Groundhog Day, my brain flashes to the scene with Bill Murray saying, "Don't drive angry. Don't drive angry."
Now I have the mental image of Derica with a much smaller Brian on her lap holding a shaker as she says, "Don't mix angry. Don't mix angry."
Yep, gin is gross. I like an Absolute martini, on the rocks, dirty.
Shaken, not stirred!
how to say you own a kilt without saying a word about it.
I do not own a kilt.
No Vermouth .... what are we doing here
Replacing vermouth with mead.
@@CitySteadingBrews Noooooooo!
