Just got the STI ones for my Rex 23… it looks good and the quality seems good, they are flexible and not hard, which should wear good in the sun over the years
Hey Ron. So here’s an update for mine. I got my GS back today and the leak still persists… Meaning they either didn’t think that is was a leak or they didn’t fix it. Right now I have Teflon tape just because my tuning date is soon and I have to get my inlet and everything on.
@@ronfromportland I think it’ll be fine. I’m putting it on the GS turbo inlet and putting teflon tape around that as well. I won’t know until I got get tuned to see how it holds up
@@ronfromportland Not an update about mine but on tech group page guy also sent his bpv back to GS and got it back and it was still leaking. His words exactly ‘it seems like they just opened the box, closed the box, and sent it right back’ Which is kinda how I feel about mine. I haven’t seen anything negative about the sti bpv so it seems to be only the wrx one. No clue why and don’t know why GS can’t fix it..
@@ronfromportland **Update** Just got dynoed today. Car ran really good despite the heat. So no boost leaks meaning teflon tape on the bpv worked well. It sounds absolutely amazing.
They look pretty good, it breaks up all the red with a different color….I like it. I thought about adding something like that but it is tasteful! Good stuff my guy!
I got those hooks too, so I need to get mine installed as well cause I don’t like mine taking up space but just nervous about them staying up, but the extra guard you got figured out sounds like a good plan so I will get down on that! Thanks for the idea and sharing!
Yeah man, that was my main concern! Just need to make sure that the frames still touch the ground while mounted. I’ve seen others who hang them up completely so the hooks seem to be more than capable 🤷♂️
Look’s really good. I have the oem door handle cup. Love it since I don’t have to worry about any scratches being made when opening the door’s. All comes down to personal preferences/ taste at the end of the day. Either you love it or hate it kind of thing
@@ronfromportland can’t really tell about fitment since everybody have to eyeball it before laying it down completely. I paid close to $25 for mines from dealership 😅
@@ronfromportland they for sure do. Now if only I had gotten the handles PPF'd I wouldn't have to worry about people with sandpaper for hands getting into my car! Lol
Nice just found your channel and I have a 2018 wrx limited too so getting ideas on what to do I just got bc extreme low coil overs and Cobb access port and a few other stuff as well it’s my first wrx and I love it
Welcome to the club! Lots of possibilities with this platform and it’s easy to make power. Thanks for checking out the channel! I really appreciate it.
Almost positive its your GS bypass valve, mine lasted about 900 miles. My car did the same thing, now it won't even idle. Leaks like crazy where the threaded bottom connector is.
@@ronfromportland Sorry just saw this, nah it's defective can't be used, maybe if I put some sort of seal on the inside of it. I had to just switch back to my OEM one. But that was the cause of me getting +30% on af ratios. Still haven't heard back from grimmspeed
@@joshuac6296 I already put an update on mine but teflon tape around the threading worked really well. I put teflon tape around coupler as well just to be sure. My tuner said no leaks were present and my afr is holding nicely after getting dynoed. GrimmSpeed said they pressure tested it when I sent it back but they sent back and it was still leaking when i tried it without teflon tape. If do decide to keep it try teflon tape and you'll see how well it holds. Regardless it does suck that this is happening.
All good, man! It’s an oil filter cover from Perrin. Still a prototype as of this day and no eta on when they will be available, sadly ua-cam.com/video/rQ7ksYREAaw/v-deo.html
My dislike for the Subaru version is the "STi" logo (logo is white; why??) . Why do all Subaru accessories have to have "STi" plastered on them....for me, clear ppf is plenty.
I think they add nicely to the other carbon fiber/black accents you have done so far 👌🏽I might pick a set up myself. The Quick Jack mount setup is spot on, I have a set of those for my B18C swapped EG6 that I bought from Costco on sale a couple years back. Every car enthusiast should have a pair of these. I'm digging the GS decal, it's not vivid but adds character- I'm thinking of slapping the dark chameleon type one on they sent me with the GS turbo inlet since my wrx is dark grey. They also sent a custom sticker that says,"I waited months for the GS turbo inlet" it had me rolling laughing- they're cool for that and they also added a $25 gift card. I'm forever a customer with their quality of service. I'm curious to what your issue is with the stall on WOT. If you have any ideas about custom visual simple add ons for the WRX that could be 3d printed, or even decals hit me up homie!
Agree, they are super useful! Glad that Grimmspeed is offsetting the long wait times, they are awesome for that. Thanks, man! Will definitely take you up on that! 🙏🔥
nope, they do not look good. on a black car in a instant, but not the right place for color contrast. i have a red 2019, and love black contrast elements, but that isnt the spot.
I have the OEM STi ones. I removed my Xpel clear film and applied them. My only gripe is that the coverage isn't as good as the xpel door cup films. I got it to complete my OEM add ons and I like the look. - @nostalgic_sti

These things are made pretty well! I ended up putting them on my Outback haha
@@ronfromportland my Rex came with a few scratches on the door handle area from the dealer, so I think there were worth it for the longevity
I have some on my black impreza...they work great...IMO they look good on your car because the contrast...better than scratches there.

In my opinion they may grow on you, but if it was me the clear paint protection would be the winner in this case. Car is looking good man keep it up.

I like the look of the covers. It matched the fender vent inlay also.
Thanks man. They’re pretty subtle overall.
I run these black on black either way it’s nice man.The black underneath the handles contrasts well with the sea of red from the body
