Everyone starting off with Insta pot should watch this ! Takes all the trial and error out of it and completely and clarifies the process for first-timers.
Since NO RECIPE BOOK came with my Instant Pot DUO Crisp, finding recipes like this is wonderful. Thank you. I will probably use this same technique with chicken, turkey, etc.
Thank you so much for this helpful video! I picked up some duck legs from the supermarket tonight, typed “duck leg instant pot” in, & here we are! This was my first ever instant pot recipe, I’d never used it before, but it worked so well! I don’t have the air fryer but the grill in my stove worked fine for crispy skin. I did have a lot of liquid left, so I guess I’ve still got some things to perfect, added a lil more salt, is lovely! Much appreciated:)
Oh thank you so much for that lovely feedback. The meat just falls off the bone doesn't it, and putting it under the grill is great. Well done! You can do something similar with chicken portions too. I hope you enjoy your Instant Pot - it's such a fun machine to cook with and will save you some money on these 'long cooking' recipes too. 😊
This is great I am going to make this for my family! I think they will all like it. Your clear presentation makes it look so easy. I also make UA-cam videos and I feel so lucky to be able to learn from other talented creators like you! I look forward to watching your future videos
I was concerned about all that liquid in the pot once the meat was done, but using the fryer lid really eliminated a lot of that. Plus you get the nice crisp on the duck legs. Wonderful! I sometimes think that there is too much liquid at the end of instant pot recipe videos I watch. But we're lucky to have that air fryer lid so that it can be reduced. :) Can't wait to try this recipe with some pork I have in the fridge.
Glad you like it Kit! Yes I love that lid. In general I take a 1/3 off liquid in converting recipes, and sometimes more. Sauté great for reducing liquid too. Good luck with your recipe !
Looks lovely, Susan. I’ve never had duck and am curious to try it. I did a filet mignon with bearnaise last night that made me pretty happy. I like your chopping gizmo. mire poix can be exhausting sometimes with chronic pain and fatigue. I’m always looking for ways to make that easier. Thanks 💗
Oh I do really like duck - definitely give it a try if you get a chance. It's very expensive here so I tend to stick to duck legs which I really enjoy cooked like this and it's as simple as you like for cooking in the IP or in the oven. I am definitely in agreement re: all that chopping. On a good day I enjoy it, but this little gadget is the best I've found for the bad days. Unless you have any tricks up your sleeve for dicing? My food processor doesn't do it. I've not made béarnaise sauce for years but that's making me want to and that sounds delicious! Quite right to feel good about it. I'm going to try and master making hollandaise more easily in the vitamix soon as we love poached eggs and it's nice to dress them up sometimes. I never do it because of the stress of getting everything ready at the same time but I'm going to try a chef's trick of trying a vacuum flask for keeping the sauce hot :) I hope you all safe and well over there. I think of you all when I see the fires. Poor Mother Nature. Keep safe.

Thank you so much. I'm really pleased that was helpful for you.
Good to see a relaxed approach to cooking and your thoughts , look forward to more recipes , kind regards Tony
Thank you so much Tony! I like the kitchen to be a happy place 😊

Thanks so much Richard - yes once you've cracked the methods you can adapt away. The instant pot is very forgiving
Very gold Susan 👏
thank you so much !
Really appreciate this - I was wondering how to combine the two functions of this Instant Pot - You explain it all so well. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!

Looks divine.
Ah thanks 😊. One of my faves for sure Helen - whether it's my version or the original oven braise
Well... I need to get myself a pot!
Every home should have one 😉👍
Can I double the portion?
Yes that should work just fine in the 8L IP Duo Crisp. Oh you've reminded me how lovely this dish is- I need to get some duck legs in! :)
Looks great. Hope we can be good friends.
Hi Rupanjali. Thanks for watching
Try adding the excess duck fat to your mash. It really gives it a lift!
I save mine for duck fat chips :)
