This isn't Irish Jig Dancing, it's looks like a blend between that and Highland Sword Dancing.

It's not meant to be true Irish Jig. It's a Scottish dance parody of an angry Irish washer woman . This and the Sailors Hornpipe are part of Highland Dancing competitions

I hate seeing this dance. It's a stage representation of an Irish character and as such it is insulting and racist. Time it was abandoned.

You clearly don’t know they story behind it then. All highland dances have a meaning and I would know that because I am a highland dancer. This a story of a specific Irish woman who is angry at some little boys who stole her laundry. It’s not racist towards all Irish people. It’s simply a dance with a story behind it. Please do research before insulting us highland dancers by saying we’re “being racist”.
