Thanks for this vid, Kelci. Some thoughts:
    1) Have you considered using master pages in Affinity Publisher? If not, you should. You could for example, configure a master page with margins, rulers, headers, page numbers, etc. and apply the master page to some or all of the project pages. This would save you a ton of time.
    2) Have you checked out using Affinity Designer and Photo for drafting your artwork? Serif has done a brilliant job of integrating these programs with publisher. You can, for example, have a page selected in AP, then click on the Designer or Photo buttons at the top, and the page will instantly open in that program. When done editing, just click back on AP and resume layout work.
    3) Have you considered farming out the layout work for some of your books? I'm thinking especially of books like the first one you demoed, which involves the placement of many strips on many pages. I should think this could be tedious when you could be spending your time doing the skilled stuff (drawing).
    Just some thoughts.

wow, I don't know how it took me this long to reply, but here we go:
I don't use Affinity Designer or Photo because all of my drawing of comics is in Clip Studio Paint. CSP is THE BEST for drawing comics and, at least right now, I don't feel like learning 2 brand new (to me) programs to do the same thing that CSP can do in half the time Photoshop takes. I get that there's potentially some handy integrations with Publisher, but my experience with app integrations has never gone smoothly.
Re: master pages, I'm still fairly new to Publisher, but I'm willing to try making one. Eventually I'll figure out how to do that.
But no: I don't have the budget to "farm out" book layouts. I'm an operation of one.
      I appreciate the comments!

How could you use the Serif tools if you hand draw on paper? I'd like to use them to create comics made from my teen's artwork.

I know Affinity, who makes Publisher, also has a photo editing application. Maybe give that a try? I haven't used it, though, so I can't attest to the quality of it.

Thank you for saving me the time of watching this tutorial. Master Pages is essential for creating a book.

Oh wow, sorry I took so long to reply to this.
When you open a new document in Affinity Publisher, you can set the margins in the document setup.
