    I bought a same rice cooker in China and carried it to Australia. It works perfectly in Australia because both countries have the same power 🔌. I love the rice that cooked by this rice cooker, yum . And I also make yogurt with it 😋. Hey mate, why don’t you just input a Chinese city 北京 it is a bit annoying that pops out each time you open the app. Did you spend 130 dollars on it? Wow, kinda expensive to get it huh? It cost me only AU$80 when I bought in China. Anyways really glad to watch your video. Cheers

    Making a cake is not gimicky side. We make bread in them. We make toast in them. We make bread pudding in them. We cook pancakes in them. We boil eggs in them. We make omelette in them. We steam fish in them. We make soup in them.
    A rice cooker isnt just a rice cooker in asia.
    It's basically a steam oven with better design.
    Honestly its a waste if you only use this xiaomi cooker only for cooking rice.

    Hi! Great review! I also feel that there is not enough reviews of this rice cooker. I have a question to you :) In my place I can see only 1L version but on Chinese stores I can see 3L version. I check dimensions of both devices and they are the same. I'm confused right now. During movie you said that you have 3L version, which allows to cook 3L of rice. Is it true that your rice cooker can fit 3L of rice and water for it? Or this is just 3L capacity in total? Can you confirm that your device have 25.00 x 20.00 x 30.00?

      @@TooManyGadgets do you know how faster the pressure model is? And one thing I noticed is that there's only 2 graduation in the bowl? On other rice cookers like Zojirushi or Cuckoo, there's at least 4 I think... to best match all type of rice.

      Hi @@BC-st7je the model I have will at the fastest take 40 minutes and using the normal programs take 60 minutes. There are 5 marks within the bowl (a little unsure if that's what you refer to as graduation) to assist you in how much water you pour into the bowl. Please ask again if I misunderstood your question :)

      @@TooManyGadgets My mistake... bad english :-D! I was talking about "scales" (?) available in the bowl. Like in this Zujirushi bowl: images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/81TX9jy1BBL._AC_SX522_.jpg there's 4 different scales available depending on what you're cooking. Anyway I ordered the Xiaomi YLIH02CM (with pressure) can not be worse than my on-off rice cooker :-D and the price is OK compared to Zujirushi/Cuckoo rice cookers.

      Navid Soltani - not that I’m aware of. But bowl is really sturdy and the coating seems very thick. So I’m expecting many years of faithful service 😉

      Navid Soltani welcome 😎. I believe it’s received one minor update. But to be honest it’s still very much the same. But I don’t find the software part problematic - you get used to it super fast, and I really appreciate the better quality rice I feel I’m getting now. Especially the texture is very noticeable.

      @@TooManyGadgets thanks for the review, I went and ordered the 3l version because of it on amazon. What I received was the 1 liter version but that's beside the point here) The FAQ for the IH rice cooker in the app warns you not to use the bowl to rinse your rice in because the coating would wear off too quickly. Seems bizar. It implies the coating is actually quite weak. It also says no soupmaking with any bones not to scratch the liner. :-/

      LH yes. But you have to wash and let the rice soak for several hours before cooking them.

    This is not a good comparison, your old rice cooker is really the lowest quality you can purchase so no wonder that the new one is performing better. Also I question why you would need an app to cook rice 😂

    • @TooManyGadgets
      @TooManyGadgets  3 роки тому

      Hi Gregor. So the old one I was using is pretty standard for many. The point of this video is to show what you get if you consider spending extra money on buying a smart rice cooker. You can cook rice without it - but it gives you some options that are not possible with traditional rice cookers. Like so many other things it's not need to have, but nice to have.

      @@TooManyGadgets I am just saying if you compare with a decent rice cooker from Japan or Thailand then is might be more difficult to see why you need to buy this particular model but I agree that they are quite hard to find and not cheap either.
