Proud owner of a marathon arctic GSAR. I got it as a gift to myself for qualifying my warfare device. It has seen every type of wear and has a storied history with all of the nicks that it has.
I just bought an early century GSAR issued from fort Bragg. It saw combat in Afghanistan and it has an incredible state of wear that only makes the watch look more robust and more stylish. Cant wait to put this thing through another adventure. So far its lived a more interesting life than me!
Congratulations on 80 years Mitchell! I rotate through four Marathon watches and have gifted three more. Two clocks in the house as well. Like so much of my old military kit: durable, reliable and sharp looking!
Proud owner of the Red Maple leaf Jumbo Search and Rescue or "Le Grand Plongeur" Only 1000 made, so it's already a classic and collectible item. I've deployed with it once on a NATO Op & it's served me well during two domestic operations. It's going to be my heirloom piece I gift my son when it's the right time. I'm glad Marathon is a part of our family history too. 🪖👍
I have bought and sold many Marathon watches. They are built like tanks and keep excellent time. Too bad that they no-longer use the ETA movements but the clone movements like Sellita work almost as well just without the cache. Thanks for the memories Marathon..........
Weldonr completed 80 years....Congrats you......Even my son completed 4 marathon n now.....let see ....kahan tak karta hai....My blessing always with him...
Proud owner of 41mm GSAR, 41mm GSAR Anthracite, 46mm Yamam ( sons Queens U graduation gift) and 41mm pilot, two Jumbo Wall Clocks, and two alarm clocks, and keeping a close eye on the 46mm Chronograph...... And now the video teases (watch what's next)....
I’m a long time owner of both. Everyone in the watch community me included love the automatics. I’ve been wearing a Marathon watch on my wrist since the late 70s. Being honest I wear the quartz versions most. And I’m a watch enthusiast. Reason why I wear quartz watches more is that they are far more antimagnetic and shock resistant than their automatic counterparts. I don’t worry about the accuracy of quartz movements nearly as much and they can withstand the most abuse of Marathons watches. Hope this helps.
@@michaelmyers4176.... I'm curious as to why The infatuation with Automatic watches?.. I'm just starting this whole watch thing.. And it seems to me that a quartz watch is not only more accurate, and less expensive. Has The same features...why buy an automatic?... All my research says that everybody likes the automatic..so I just ordered the GSAR... But I'm wondering if maybe I made a mistake? Should I have bought The quartz version, probably a stupid question.

Does marathon manufacture their own cases, or buy blanks?
Marathon will be my next purchase, looking at the TSAR and GSAR now, probably the Automatic GSAR.
Quartz isnt worth it just hold out a bit or find an automatic on ebay
