- A full review of a Lakeside Apartment at Whinfell Forest Centre Parcs in Cumbria. Plenty of tips for the first time visitor and a walk around the park, showing all the highlights, outdoor and indoor activities, shopping, eating venues and the massive indoor swimming area. That looks like a great park with so much fun stuff to do! You've been coming here for years , so you must absolutely love it! The surroundings are really nice with the lake and the trees. The ziplining and the indoor pool look really cool as well. It's definitely fun for the whole family , no matter what the age.
We have had so many good times there over the years will all the family at different times, so always enjoy a trip back. If you like outdoor stuff this sure is the place to come and I would be there every year if I could. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
I agree it is a lovely place to stay Alan, we have stayed twice. Our first time was our honeymoon, me and my son had a go at scuba diving in the outdoor pool. That was good fun, I'm sure Hucks used to be a Hard rock cafe when we visited. Looks like you all had a lovely time buddy family time well spent 👍

Hi Alan, we used to love going to Center Parcs back in the day. Your room looked spotless, stylish, and modern. The forest is glorious and the swimming pool area is spectacular. What a great apartment, it looks great and very well equiped. We stayed in various Centre Parcs around the UK when my daughter was younger. It must be about 15 years ago we stayed at Whinfell Forest, a beautiful park, but we made the mistake of hiring Centre Parcs bikes ....... they had no gears and certainly weren't man enough for the many slopes around the park. So we just walked lol.
Yes, we learned very early to take as much stuff as we could and we only used to eat out there once in the 4 nights we always stopped as everything was always so expensive. Still at the end of the day we have had at least 13 visits there and always had a great time. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan

Nice bathroom, shame the bubble bath didn't work.
The pool looked amazing, think we would spend a lot of time there too. The cabana looked great.

Hi Alan. It would be nice to spend a few days here. Very nice apartment, it has everything you need for a short stay. Swimming pool, playground, sauna, adventure park everything perfect for kids and adults. Surrounding is also beautiful, hope you enjoyed 👍🥰🤗
its nice and local for us, just over an hours drive and we have spent 13 holidays there over the years and always enjoy it. It is also a great way to introduce the kids to the outdoors as well. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan

Centre Parcs looks great. I loved the apartment. Off season would be my preference as I don’t enjoy large crowds of people. Thanks for sharing the video.
I totally agree, it is a bit quieter off season and the price is much better too - when the kids are off on holiday the prices go through the roof. The apartment was perfect for the two of us, we really enjoyed 4 nights there. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan

Wow.. it's changed beyond recognition since we went there back in the early 2000's..
I remember our eldest daughter Lucy was petrified at the time of the scale and noise of the indoor pool.. 😆 So one morning we decided to put both our girls Lucy & Holly into the kinds club while Sue and I enjoyed the spa. I remember the spa being out of this world... it was wonderful... well..... for 20 minutes it was, as we got a call from the kids club staff that Holly wasn't happy at all so we had to cut short out spa morning 🤦🏻♂.. Great memories though.. Thanks for sharing.

It was about 2008 we first stated going, always at the beginning of March to get a good price, especially as I was still working the so paying for us and our kids/grandkids to all go but we had the best of times there. We went for about 13 years in a row and I always started the day off at first light, walking around the park by myself, remembering the different lodges we had stopped in and the great memories that were created in each one. Real nice to go back again and get time to spend with our youngest son and youngest grandson again. Real good of you to watch, cheers Alan
Ohh cush cush! Its sounds and looks cozy with the birds singing so💜I also enjoy compact spaces, no issue😂 have to lving in our van😅 cozy tho!! The outdoor area looks nice and private. Lovely to walk around the lake in the morning. Wow, I mean the place is gorgeous and looks like all the amenities a family could enjoy! I like only the bikes on campus. Thanks for the review. Centre Parcs always look very tempting until you see the cost 😮. Those facilities don't pay for themselves, though, and it does look good. I'd be tempted to have a go on the zip wire, it's been a few years since I was last on one. A good tour and review, Alan.
So true but if you go out of season you can still get a canny deal but if you start adding on all the extras the price soon starts to rise. It was great when all the grandkids were small as all they wanted to do was go swimming and walking in the woods lol. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
Hi Alan, great review video as usual and very comprehensive. The apartment looks lovely and clean and fine for just two people, we would all love to stay in the big fancy ones but you pay big time for them. Great facitlities and things to do in a beautiful setting, something for everyone. You are right to point out that most things are quite expensive so not a cheap break if you are eating and drinking out all the time but it certainly looks a great place to stay. Yes, if you can go off season, the prices are still very reasonable but if you have to go when the schools are off - yikes! We have never had a bad holiday there, always had fun and I have some amazing memories from the many years we have stay there. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
Nice review and that place is big enough. At least for most of things. The first flat Trevor and I lived in together here, was smaller than that one! Plus in Sweden you most of times only get shower.
Awww... £7 isn't expensive for beer and cider, at least not in Sweden! 😆😆🤣🤣

Depends were you go but I have paid under £3 a pint before in a local club here, so there was no getting drunk in Centre Parcs for me lol. Always plenty of things to do there mind, indoors and outdoors and we have always had so much fun there, just wish we could go back and do it all again. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan

Hello Alan. A nice apartment just for the two of you. You have all the amenities you would need. Nice and clean too. The bathroom looks very nice too. The lake looks lovely. Nice to have the indoor swimming pool and adventure play park. We have Centre Parcs 10 mins from us only been during the day though to use the amenities. Great that there are trails to walk and cycle on. A really good review, take care x Julie and Tony x

You can lift the curtain pole and move the last eyelet to the other side of the holder. On both sides. That's how I have done with our curtains at home.

Love centre-parcs, kids at school priced us out for a few years but they're growing up fast so when we can go out of season I shall be going back for sure, nice video. hope you and family are all well squire. xx
Very well - thank you and totally agree with you, great place to spend a holiday with the family but it has to be outside the school holidays, otherwise far too expensive for us. Wonderful! Think I could live there full time...and may just downsize to something like this in the future! I'll leave the high wire act to you. It seems that no matter one travels to these days the prices are sky high...nothing like I remember even to go out for a little drive and an ice cream cone. But really, it is all about taking advantage of times together and making memories.
Always a fun place to visit and we always stop 4 nights but I could sure stop a hell of a lot longer, we always love a visit there. Yep, nothing cheap now days, dam shame too. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
Wow wasn’t expecting that, opening shot is incredible! I like the access key! Lovely use of space with inner and outer eating areas. Nice touch, checking the cutlery, no water marks either. They have a great cleaning team.great place for accessing the Lakes, wonderful fun for the family. Our friends who have three kids go every single year without fail. Wow great shots of the tree walks and zip wire! Yikes pricey drinks but nothing stopping you stocking up before you arrive. So many activities and things to do. I bet it’s crazy busy in the summer holidays. Luxury pads can park right up. Some great memories over the thirteen years. Red Squirrels too. Mmm, pizza delivery? Sold. Bet the neighbours love you spotting wildlife at night with one of your powerful torches, especially if they have gaps in the curtains! 😂 the perfect spot for a family or friends get together ❤
Pre Covid we went for 11 years in a row and one year we actually went twice, including a winter break which was amazing for the kids and me too. When the schools are off the prices are crazy but off season you can still get a great 4 night break and that is what you usually always went for. A very good comprehensive review Alan.........You were very honest about all aspects of the experience, apartment was smart and well equipped, nice little breakfast terrace there too..............They really dont need to charge that much for a pint and essential shopping items, but as you so rightly advised ''bring your own'' very smart tactic.........The facilities were superb and a kids dream/big kids too ha ha(as grandparents like you two we love seeing them happy and enjoying themselves)...........The curtain issue(bothered you, me too) if only they moved that curtain-pole bracket 6inches across, problem solved, anyway mate a small fault we could all live with..................overall it looks a fantastic place, loved the surroundings.........bet that video editing took you a while, very good Alan.........Stu/Wendy 👍👍.............Hi to the Mrs...😊😊.......PS your channel keeps disappearing from my subscriber list..................could you let me know if you get a new subscriber alert...........it'll be me again even though I've been a subscriber for years...🤔
I have had that problem before, with channels I have subbed to for years and then out I was not subscribed - crazy. That curtain pole was an issue as the bed was right next to the window but like you say, a 2 minute job to fix it. We love going to Centre Parcs and had some brilliant memories there over the years. Afternoon alan. Lovely place that. We used to visit many years ago when my now 31 year old son was little. Its changed alot but we always had a house, bet the price is different nowadays 😅. Hi Alan so good to see this review as we have always been curious. Your apartment looked good, nice and clean and with just what you would need, and the outdoor area was pretty and private. Shame the bath didn't work but at least you had a shower. LOVED the location at sunrise where you walked and that indoor pool looked great, especially for when it's raining. The outdoor park was great for the kids too, I would love that zip wire over the lake 😃
Seem to be a lot of activities you can do like football etc and cafes, and nice that the sports bar is next to the playground.
Love the sound of the sauna and the soft play is great too. That's definitely a place for all ages, shame it's all over priced in the supermarket so you gave good advice to bring own food.

We have enjoyed so many good times there over 13 years and if you are able to go out of season you can still get a real canny price but when the kids are off, it's not cheap at all. Nice walk around here alan always liked centreparks mate but agree on site shop and beers prices are extortionate 😂 so yeah try take your own class there you and the grandkid blasting the zip line looked like you were going some speed lol great familly holiday spot the quad bikes are good fun class mate and as always enjoy nothing better than fam time cheers ....BUTCHY

Looked OK that apartment Alan, do you know in all my life I've never been to a Centre Parcs even when my children were small, I don't know why... although I do really (preferred guaranteed weather in Spain, Greece, etc ), I just never fancied it, but it looks great 👍
Curtain problem easily solved... raise the pole, slide the curtain loop one over, drop the pole 👍

He designed every one himself and then got the tattooist to do them for him, God knows what they cost mind. We tried it for the first time over 13 years ago, got hooked and been back just about every year since, always have a great time but you need to go outside the school holidays for a canny price. Apologies for my belated comment. I had spend some time with in-laws for Independence holiday last week and came back home late last night.
We have been going there for years with different members of our family and always have a great time, no matter what the weather. One of the best times was when we went at Christmas time, as the park was really well laid out with so many Christmas decorations and a great Santa Claus for the grandkids to visit. Great review Alan, seems to be a great place for kids and grandkids with lots to do and new things to try out. Was a lot of it included or do you have to pay extra for things? Always good sign when everything is clean and tidy. Loved seeing the Red Squirrels run about though all those topless shots of you made me think was he back in "naked hiking" mode again?!! I think the park is close to Penrith, so did you sneak out a few times and do some hiking in the Lakes? All the best, Ashley
Yes, its only 5 miles East of Penrith and I did go out one morning and drive to Buttermere to do Mellbreak and Hen Coomb, which was the start of me being poorly. Always had a real fun time every time we have been and the swimming is free but all the other sports are extras, so it soon mounts up. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
