  • First downwinder on the new KT Ginxu Dragnfly. Super light conditions but the board worked great.

    Hi! Would you recommend the 7’7 or 8’2 for a complete beginner on inland lakes? (65kg)

      Hi, for a beginner I recommend the Dragonfly Surf. The 7'8" would be perfect for your weight.

      @@KomninosDimitris Thanks, did not consider that option because it has “surf” in the name, but it actually looks like a good plan! But I want to use it on inland lakes with wind chop and not in the surf…

      It's called the Surf, and it is purely a downwind board, designed for short-period swells and having heaps of fun carving the bumps. Check out this video: ua-cam.com/video/qkNjDjpKvYg/v-deo.html. If your run consists of short-period bumps, this is the board you want. Otherwise, you can go with the original design. For your weight, the 7'7" would be fine. Keep in mind that the original design with the round bottom is a bit more unstable than the Surf. Both boards are awesome!

    Do you like larger or smaller tail for DW?

    • @KomninosDimitris
      @KomninosDimitris  Місяць тому

      Generally, I prefer small tails for more efficiency and speed.

      @@KomninosDimitris Any point of using a large tail? Been wondering if it helps with paddle ups in the end

      @@rmoisio A larger tail definitely helps with quicker paddle-ups, smaller one requires more speed.

    How much do you weigh? Did it take long to get used to the width/how it doesnt like to turn when in the water? Are you happy with your choice now you had it for a while or prefer a smaller one? Super cool videos man

      I weigh 80 kgs and I found the board very stable from day one. It feels much shorter than its length. Best purchase I have ever made. Thanks, man

      @@KomninosDimitris sounds epic. Now youve had it for a while do you wish you had a size down or this is the sweet spot for excess volume to stay high enough on water and have solid paddle speed?

    • @KomninosDimitris

      Hm, tough question. I have used the 7'4", which was fine, and the shorter length felt nice. However, when you step down in foil size, stability and take-off become more difficult. Now, I can take off on the smallest and weakest bump without any doubt.
