This is brilliant! I've been bitching about my little 8" snare pad ever since I bought the kit. Instead of searching for a larger compatible trigger pad, I'm going to convert my old beat up Peavey snare. Immediately!
not even pressed play yet.. but omg cheers man, I've been looking for EXACTLY this for ages! You Mission starts tonight (if the tutorial is good haha). Legend mate nice one, from one frustrated Alesis owner
Thanks man and good luck! This helped so much with my left wrist. I've broken it badly years ago and the small pad hurts my wrist and just feels better witha full size snare!
Cheers bud. I know the feeling. My plan is to convert my floor tom pad to a snare using an old Premier Cabria 14" snare I have laying around, then using my bigger 10 inch snare pad as my floor Tom. Fingers crossed!
For 2 of my toms on my conversion kit I took Roland pd120 trigger bars out of damaged toms i found on ebay and installed them in my toms. Plug and play on my td20. My snare I made with a Convertible Percussions trigger which works great.
Nice man, my kit has seen many, shitty DIY stages but I finally got it to where I like it. Having a full size snare to play is so much easier on the wrists too! Thanks for watching
Yes it is! The nitro pads would be okay if the rim wasn't so much higher than head. Much easier and enjoyable to play on, wish I would have done it sooner
On the alesis nitro, yes and no. It only supports dual zone snare. But if you're crafty and know how to set the triggers up and willing to buy an extra trigger and the cables, you could probably take a tom input( all tom inputs are dual zone capable) you could probably make it work.
I did this on a snare and 2 toms and I can’t get it to not trigger both the drum and the rim. At this point, it’s not playable through ez drummer. Really bummed out.
@335dan it would be under pad settings I believe, I'm sure someone has a video on it somewhere. I haven't touched my settings probably since I made this snare. Or Google the user manual, I know it's in there.

I did it!!! Works Great, Thanks!!!
Thanks so much for this video. Because of it I’m about to do the same conversion
Thanks, just bought a snare and stand on Amazon for $85, will go nice w/ my Alesis Nitro

Really helpful detailed video - thanks! 🥁 😎
Thanks man it was a fun little project!
i'd be very tempted find a really cheap drum set and convert the whole thing
That could definitely be done, it'd be expensive for good triggers and a module to run all the triggers into though
Well that makes more sense then making the dual zone thing and just keeping the sensor for Rim shots
but for deeper tome like 10x8 there may be a little buzzing.i have mesh head on top and regular resonance head one on bottom
Nice job. Bet it’s a lot more enjoyable to play

@@WhiskeyDrums keep on rockin. Makin some good progress with mine after I ditched my acoustic setup
are the foam touched the head? and can we convert 3 zones electric snare to accoustin shell?

Amigo me ajuda com a placa do circuito. Onde voce comprou?
Can you translate to English I tried to translate Portuguese to English and it didn't work well

That sucks dude! Have you turned the sensitivity down on the rim trigger and turn the threshold up as well?
Hmmm. Any idea how to turn rim trigger individually? I haven’t been able to find that! Thanks for the response!!

Put some socks on , man
