To be fair, cats are really well suited for this kind of apocalypse. If he were a dog I'd 100% agree that it's plot armor, but cats are SO well suited to stealth that it's pretty easy to imagine large populations of them persisting after day one.

My family members didn't want to see the movie based on how badly Lupita looked. I told them her character was sick. She looked the part. Her cat would have scratched his eyes out from being submerged in water like that. I was glad the vat lived and she wanted to die on her terms. Her pain was unimaginable and she knew she wouldn't last much longer.
This drew a tear to my eye, as my name is Eric and my car was an emotional stress cat. He helped me through a very abusive verbal relationship with the ex wife. I’d never trade anything for my Salem cat for what he has done for me.
The funniest thing to me about these movies is what the hell do these creatures do about insects? There are like a million cicadas around my house, i can only imagine these creatures going ham on crickets and other noisy bugs that you don't see in any of the movies.
Yeah I totally agree these movies are absolutely absurd! There's all sorts of things in nature that make noise even just the wind so what are they going to cut down every tree? It literally makes no sense at all. I feel like the concept behind these movies could make it scary but the application is horrible. It's almost as if they assume the audience doesn't think about anything in relation to what these creatures are capable of are not capable of.

They are not native, every sound to them would be worth attacking atleast once, vitally this includes the sound of running water (they don't know what running water is, their rock had none of it).

As the creatures successfully navigate buildings without falling off and city streets, we assume they don't need canes to know when the ground drops away. They may also have super fast reactions and strength, to be able to pull up even from flat out the moment a foreleg hits empty space.
The more they develop these movies the more the monsters or aliens don't make any sense. I mean they run after a car alarm I get it. But then he knocks an empty soda can over and they all shift to chasing him down and can hear him running even though they themselves are making wayyyyy more noise and commotion than his footsteps. I just don't get why people don't throw rocks to distract them and crawl or move quietly while throwing things and making noise elsewhere?
hell he bumped into a car which would have made noise as one ran past him and it didnt notice same with just before that he was breathing hard when one was next to him

The death angel that went in the water the second movie was because it killed them 3 men & drowned . The other death angel stayed on the boat until it reach the island where the people were.
My bet is that a group of em drowned and the rest were like "maybe we should stay away from the big echoey area over there." But the Death angle in Part 2 was probably not very bright lets be real.

Neither Eric nor Frodo appear in the second part. Hopefully they're both still alive and we'll see them in part 3.
