- On time Labour Party MP now independent Jeremy Corbyn on winning his seat and giving the Labour Party who kicked him out of the party, a good a good kick up the arse. And then goes ranting about his favourite issues of Muslims.
Recorded from Channel HD, Britain Decides, 05 July 2024.
Harriet, nobody is an establishment stooge.
Jeremy took his case directly to the people of Islington.
They choose him in there thousand, the arrogance of the Queen of sheeba is breathtaking.
She’s pretty horrendous
Rory is the only one that actually asked a question.
Yes he rose above the shit of the other 3-one a war criminal
Such a weird time we’re in; the ex-Tory and the socialist, 2 currently demonised groups in the media, are on the same level and being the most reasonable talking about what’s best for the people of the country.
That Rory bloke was actually in the Conservative Party 😂. He’s further left that Michael Foot.
i noticed that too! that says a lot about the state of the current labour party.
No Alistair asked a good question about the rise of Farage
Harriet Harman came across appallingly. Graceless.
She's also a genocide supporter, only to be expected!!
Especially her past with P I E
I warmly congratulate Labour but I also didn't think Harriet Harman came across at all well...dull, graceless (as you say) uninspiring...and really a bit of a square.
@@jake751 Good memory!
Especially, to lamabast him for standing against labour when Jeremy wanted to stand as a Labour mp and only stood as an independent at the last minute because they blocked him and imposed a candidate.
Harman seems to be saying to a man who stood as a Labour MP since the 80's, and who expelled him, 'you shouldn't of stood as an independent, you should have been loyal to the Labour Party' Wow!
@@martynhanson Why not? Corbyn was never really loyal to Labour, just himself. And yet when it came to loyalty when he was leader, he expected 110% and when he didn't get it, had a hissy fit. He then got to feel how having him on the back benches all the previous Labour leaders must have felt, and he didn't behave with good grace!
They still can't let him be . Disgusting people
Well of course during the campaign they were campaigning against each other. That's how campaigns work. It's not Labour's fault he put self interest over the interests of the country. And they haven't wasted any time worrying about him since the election
He's talking about after the campaign, after Jeremy won. The line of questioning from the interviewers was out of pocket.
So interesting how Rory, a conservative, and Jeremy Corbin both understand the structural issues besetting the country.
Look at Rory's voting record over the last decade. It's not their ability to recognise structural problems, it's their choice of solution. Rory skipped along while singing the austerity song and still does as far as I know. He's a neo-liberal through and through. Just because he comes across as a nice person (which he does) doesn't mean he isn't a scumbag.
Didn't insult the TORIES ! STEWART IS AND NEVER WAS A TRUE TORY ,STEWART LIKE CAMPBELL IS A SELF SEEKING EGOIST
Jeremy handled harman and campbell with class.
Jeremy is a total *ucking saint ! God bless you Sir !
Yepp, He's a trucking star 🔴🟢⚫⚪
Harnans comments are disgusting her party refused to let him stand so why should he support them he would have won the seat for them it was her and her leaders choice she is the problem with labour with their present policies it will be a one term government they only won because people wanted a change but they will soon discover there is little difference
100%, she embarrassed herself immensely and showed what a two-dimensional party shill she is and has always been.
She’s utterly toxic, like hodge and plenty of others.
JC was expelled from his own party, and Harman is castigating him for having to stand as an Independent.??!!
I think she just has it in for him. She wasn’t making any sense.
Tony Blair's war propaganda minister.
War criminal questions Corbyn 😂😂😂😂. These people are never made accountable-is it any wonder the turn out was so low.
Campbell isn't a war criminal. He didn't make any decisions as he was never an MP. He was the PR man
The guy who was cleared of any wrongdoing?
Congratulations Jeremy Corbyn
The f-ing gall of these people, victim blaming Corbyn like this.
They are ghouls
Harriet Harman could not win as an independent in the way Jeremy Corbyn can.
He is beloved by his community.
Correct. She wouldn’t have a chance.
Jeremy, you have and always had my full support !
Didn’t take long to shut them up
I used to agree with Harman -she’s a disgrace
She was atrocious
She’s bitter. She was actively campaigning in Islington North to unseat Jeremy 😂
She is pathetic
Harman shmarman.
Why have people forgotten that she was a high profile supporter of the Peadophile Information Exchange in the 70s?
We dont want Starmer the Red Tory we want Jeremy ,Labour is now a branch office of Tory HQ.
The red Tories lost in 2017 and 2019.
@@jamesandmikey32 true and they still got more of the vote share than Starmer LOL
If the people wanted Corbyn then they could have made him PM in 2017 or 2019.
They didn't.
The corupt media and the oligarchs and big corporations done everything they could to stop Corbyn becoming PM. They created the false naritive that enabled the Millionares and Billionaires to rape our economy. The big lies being Brexit and stopping immigration which they only pay lip service to . As a result the Nation is impoverished by the Millionares and Billionaires who are now moving out of the Uk to the next country to rape. They have bo allegiance to a country the wrap themselves in the Union flag but their true loyalty is to their class.
The level of contempt they show to JC, while sitting comfortably with a massive liar and war criminal, astonishing. Utterly horrid people.
Yes. Not far off being little minions questioning a man who has goodness in his heart - even if he sees wrongness in folk who don’t want so much immigration.
Campbell isn't a war criminal. He didn't make any decisions as he was never an MP. He was the PR man
Corbyn should be in number 10
I expect there is a gardening job around the back if he wants it
He's to good for this rotten country 😢
@@jake751 yeah, the guy that wouldn’t answer a simple question about responding to a nuclear attack with the same. The guy that thinks Venezuela is a shining example to the world. Yup we dodged a bullet with cob.
@@martynanstis1620 unconcious
@@martynanstis1620He did answer. He said we should never use planet-destroying weapons. He was correct.
Harriet you need help lady.
I know, she’s so salty.
Labor is Labor just in name.
So true. There needs to be new Labour movement, because the Labour Party we have now is an absolute joke.
They tried that, it didn’t work…
@@rare6499 Yes, and we must not try again. Ever!
@@nickxcore74 Same with the Tories, they have become very woke.
Starmer treated Jeremy disgustingly. Jeremy is right to stand for true socialism. Unfortunately, labour is not socialist under starmer.
Labour also won under Starmer
But they're in power and able to affect change, rather than impotently shouting from the sidelines. I like Corbyn and wanted him to win, but sadly we don't live in a country where that was ever going to happen.
That's why Starmer won and Corbyn didn't
The Tories lost, and Starmer got lucky.
Stood out as an individual Because he represents the 100,000 members you lost when you took away his whip.
Jeremy is not standing as an individual Harriot Harman. He represents us.
Love you Jeremy! People like yourself make UK great!!
Harriet H sounded like a bitter, and twisted! JC won - grow up, accept and get over it!
Harriet Harman showing her true colours, conveniently forgetting. that it was Starmer who kicked out JC , for reasons which are far too clear, and not those that they state, and left
him with no choice. He has represented Islington North with integrity for nearly forty years, which is why he was returned. I wonder
if she or any of her ''Labour' colleagues can look at themselves and find any principles within, other than a self-serving one.
Harriet Herman's remarks were an absolute Joke. Jeremy actually stood for real Labour values. Whereas Keir Starmer is a sellout. Krishnan should also be ashamed of himself
Yes used to think he was OK. Goodbye chanel 4 news I'll stick with aljazeera uk. 😊
I'm with JC I think local people should choose who they want to represent them. he's fought for them for many years and Islington North remembers. What he said about stop blaming migrants for social situation was refreshing and he's right about the rise of the right ar well. I wish Harman had taken the opportunity to ask him a serious question rather than scolding him. But typical JC he thanked her and responded.
Great to see Maitlis seething.
Didn't look like she was seething to me.
@@Altolinoh she was, think you need to go to Specsavers. Many people noticed her scowling sour face.
@@Altolin She was literally turning away and side-eying him as he discussed the plight of the Palestinians.
@@Altolinoh yes she was. Cry more Emily 😂😂😂
@@MrMamooshkanah i think she was looking at the the production team behind the cameras
Victory for Jeremy which has absolutely made this election - great! I can only put up with Labour with Jeremy as the opposition. We will get better with politicians for the people. Thank you, Mr Corbyn.
I’ve suddenly got some respect for Rory Stewart because he absolutely got to it
Jeremy Still tha Man
Corbyn always talks so much sense with great sincerity. No wonder he was ousted from Starmer's Labour party.
Seems like Emily has a problem with Jeremy's answers, particularly on Gaza! I thought she was a journalist who could do a good job of acknowledging both opinions. It appears she's not. Welcome back, Jeremy. we need people like you to challenge this new goverment and these biased journalists!
A bit of background about E. Maitlis which probably accounts for her disdaining J. Corbyn. She is Jewish herself and among British Jews JC is persona non grata.
She was literally turning away and side-eying him as he discussed the plight of the Palestinians. Shameful.
@@MrMamooshka Maitlis is Jewish.
Well done Jeremy 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Lol They're so salty!
It seems like Jeremy is friendlier towards Rory than Alastair
Rory is politically unchained from any party now and does not have close social relations with senior Labour members that Alistair has. So he can speak clearly and independently on what he thinks without concern for partisan backlash.
Totally disagree with Harriet here. The party kicked him out and he stood as an independent in an electorate that had previously voted for him. Attacking him for standing is ridiculous.
Starmer has treated this man absolutely appallingly!!! Love him or loathe him, Jeremy is a Man of Conviction and Conscience... But unfortunately, we are living in an Age in which our politics isn't built upon such High Ideals and Values. People are Hurting!!! Thanks to 14 years of utter chaos! And so, I guess, those noble concerns of Human Decency and Dignity, seemingly has to wait until we can all heal again.
And heal we must! Because many in this country, are already falling prey to Xenophobia and Racism! So I wish Starmer ALL the Best Luck in the World, to turn our country around... So that we CAN start thinking about the Bigger Picture! In which folks, like Jeremy, have made their home.
Jeremy, and other conscientious politicians, are a victim of the Times I'm afraid! Because it's difficult for people to develop their sense of conscience, if they're struggling to eat and pay their bills...
❤
God bless you.
This guy is gonna give allucinations to Starmer and company day in and day out. On behalf of working people. Can’t wait. Wonderful stuff.
"for example Bangladesh" was the most subtle roast i've ever seen jc do and i'm so here for it
JC is the Man
Emily's reaction said it all about her feeling on his win.
😂😂😂. Made my day. Jeremy corbyn was the overall winner of the night.
Gutted 😂
Love Jeremy
Rory was the only one who asked a question.
He won his seat because he is recognised as a man of known integrity and honesty.
We ❤ you☮️✌️🙏 Jeremy ..
Jeremy you legend! Calm, collected and a winner ❤
A voice of people’s prime minister #JeremyCorbyn
disgrace, the lot of them.congrats Corbyn.
Jeremy not taking the bait 👏👏👏
Jeremy Corburn is not a hypocrite and believe in humanity .. democracy... and the truth not propoganda
utterly disgusting what the labour party and the media did to this man
Pity he didn't get to be labour leader in this election. Given that he got more votes in 2017/19 than starmer did in this election (and still won). He would've wiped the floor with the tories in this election had he been leader. At least the tories still got crushed, and so many greens/left wing independents won their seats too.
JC is the king. I hope at least the Christians agree with me.
I'm not Christian and I agree with you. Peace.
@@user-ui1df8ed1t Same as you. Making it about religion is moronic.
@saysayeed Why on earth you say something like that? It really does speak volumes about you.
@@kennycube5126 , Jesus Christ is considered as a king for Christians . Jeremy Corbyn is the king of Islington North. Both are men of the masses. They stand for the oppressed and the downtrodden. JC is a play on their initials.
@@kennycube5126 He is making a joke about the fact that JC could mean Jeremy Corbyn or alternatively could mean Jesus Christ. So to say JC is the King has the ambiguity that enables him to say that he hopes that christians agree with him. As a christian and as a socialist I think it is quite a funny joke.
100% respect to
Jeremy corbyn 👏
The voice of truth
Oooh Jeremy Corbyn, ooo Jeremy Corbyn! Dah, dah, dah, dah! I hope he proves the biggest thorn in Starmer's government. A pity George Galloway was not elected, then the two could have collaborated on attack and with their oratory skills make mincemeat of Starmer and Starmer's lackey MPs. Starmer has got no chance with Trump when he becomes regrettably the next US president in November. Remember PM May whom he humiliated holding her hand treating her like one of his conquests, and then asked for Boris. Trump will only deal with his friend Nige (Boris?) and will seek to dethrone London Mayor Sadiq Khan. By the way, will we see disgraced ex MP Truss part of Trump's campaign? So great they slow handclapped her at the count!! I'm not sure what he thinks about her but if she's available then that will swing it for him if you know what I mean. Trump and his alley cat morals!!
It's noticeable that Rory Stewart is the only member of the panel to address the most important point. You can just see that Harman is seething because she knows that the labour party threw the kitchen sink at Islington and still lost. Corbyn is simply polite and intelligent in his responses when faced with vitriol from Harman and questioning from a war criminal.
Corbyn gave some very good answers and I'm glad he won. Never really liked Harman, saw a lot of her on Question Time. Talks a lot but says very little. Now into Lords. No principles.
Look at her past about P.I.E.
Made abundantly evident from her ridiculous statement. “Integrity must be put aside for zee party…!” Unbelievable.
Congratulations to the great people of Islington and to Mr. Jeremy Corbyn. Mr. Corbyn is the most decent politician in UK history.
Typical ch4 gutter synpe. Well done Jeremy!
Anti-Tory vote.
When Rory and Jeremy spoke, it was two sensible people having a respectful, productive exchange of views. I hope Rory cements a place in the ‘commenterati’
This is absolutely disgusting. The display of contempt and disrespect on show from Channel 4 and their guests is utterly shameful. You showed us just how much you hate Corbyn and you hated his time as leader, and how much you really worked to destroy him. Maitlis is a disgrace, that is disgusting behaviour in any context. Harman, absolutely breath-taking arrogance and contempt. Labour kicked him out and parachuted a stooge in. Harman showed utter contempt for the people of Islington and their rights to choose just as Labour have shown utter contempt for their members, and voters. Corbyn got 3 MILLION more people to vote for him than Starmer did. If anything this clip shows how underserving Labour is of its power, and these journalists of their position.
I'm not with you here. Krishnan is the host here, and his questioning was perfectly respectable. The other people are guests on election night coverage, and are there to speak for themselves and their parties - so Harriet is allowed to put questions pushing a partisan viewpoint since she's not there as a journalist. I thought what she said was horrible, and mean-spirited in the immediate aftermath of Jeremy Corbyn's win, but it's within the bounds of political debate on these kind of shows.
Emily Maitlis is a talented journalist but let herself down badly. Harriet Harman was graceless and frankly extremely rude. You may be disappointed in Jeremy but not as much as I'm disappointed in you Harriet. At least Alistair knew how to behave. Well done Alistair and congratulations Jeremy. Politicis needs you more than ever.
And in no time at all, suddenly Jeremy is the new Dennis Skinner - veteran OAP MP with over 40 years' service, renowned for saying what he thinks and sticking by it come what may, universally acknowledged as an honest politician even if most don't agree with some of his beliefs.
Maitless is graceless.
Also talentless 😊
Congratulate Starmer is his first question. What a piece of it
I can't wait for JC to stare down the Traitor Starmer, from the opposition benches,
Maitless is awful.
How can it be that Rory Stewart, a Conservative, is sounding fairer and making more sense than both the supposed "Labour" figures on this panel?
Not surprised at what that snake Alister Campbell has to say but, very surprised that Harriette Harmon would say that a man should put “a party” before integrity and morals…! He was kicked out on a false charge and represents rightly or wrongly what the Labour Party originally represented. Shame on you Harman. Congratulations Jeremy.
Harriet is out of order, disappointed and disgusted with you Harriet. JC is amazing
Harman and Campbell. Corbyn didn’t want to leave Labour. He left on moral grounds because he wasn’t allowed to stand as a Labour candidate.
Well done Jeremy. Good question by Rory Stewart.
Is it my imagination or is Campbell trying to offer Corbyn an olive branch (I don't think Jeremy isn't looking to continue being foes with Alastair but I don't think he wants to be allies Either don't blame him)?
Harman, petty as ever.
We Salute you Comrade Corbyn . We know who Starmer is .
Put aside for a moment Harmans appalling authoritarian critique of JC's fabulous win. Believe it or not Harman thinks her and JC are ideologically aligned and that the only distinction between them is their chosen methods of "deliverability" - She believes in dancing with the devil rather than fighting it tooth n nail. I can't say who is right or wrong but i do know this.
JC stood as an independent and won. This alone got Harman mad because SHE KNOWS!!! the people of N Islington need a Labour MP to represent them. She believes this so strongly that she'd conspire in preventing a free and fair election where the people choose from whomever wants to run. That is anti-democratic and there comes a time when you have to look yourself in the mirror and ask if you have become the baddie.
Congratulations Jeremy, You Are Simply The BEST!
One of the most significant results of the general election was former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn’s victory as an independent candidate.
After the effort Starmer went to to rid Labour of the ‘left’ in Labour to supposedly clean up and change the Labour Party, Corbyn’s victory defines everything that’s wrong about ‘changed’ Labour’s new government even on its outset.
I sincerely hope Corbyn’s continued presence on the opposition benches, albeit as an ‘independent’ MP will cause as much havoc as possible for Starmer’s right wing Labour agenda for growth which will never work anyway.
They can’t stand the truth. Lol
It’s called democracy luvie well done Jeremy. What is that little hypocrite Rory doing there he was conservative now he wants Labour. But Jeremy is far left isn’t he? But that’s ok then I thought communism failed
Some people really need to let it go with corbyn, they’ll still be mentioning him 2000 years later.
Harman is a total pratt!!
Really surprised an shocked at Harriet's abillity. Is that what she could come up with? Just criticise the man??She is overrated and very lucky to have been in such high position in her party.
We love you Jeremy always and forever ❤
starma's blair's lovelies still at it as they were mascering iraqis and afghanistanis
Mateless can barely contain her disdain.
Shame on Harman, what a horrible person
As a 30 year old who has lived their entire adult life under the tories who lives in bristol north west, thank you too all the voters in islington north, voters of other independent votes, the green voters, and those who tacticallv voted labour or lib dems, thank you, for the first time in my adult life i have hope, and while we have to be aware of the far right at least we have an opportunity to potentially put forward more progressive change in this country.
It wont be easy the political system is rigged against implementing progressive policies that will actually improve people's way of life, us centrists and of the left need to unite and say its okay to push harder for better, cleaner, more reliable and cheaper utilities, fixing our healthcare and social care system. If we have to do that the people with the "broader shoulders" (millionares and billionaires) should pay taxed on assets
Harriet "I can't believe you've done this" Harman
Why is Corbyn independent all of a sudden, he was Labour for a while
Labour didn't allow him to stand for the party in the election. When Corbyn said he would stand as an independent instead, Labour kicked him out of the party.
I assume that’s a joke.
Ask the Labour Party, who treated him shamelessly!
Harman showing a distinct lack of class here IMO. I watched Ch4 all night and thought she was generally OK but if Starmer and his goons hadn’t been such SNAKES JC would have won his seat with a Labour badge and not an independent one. Campbell who I assume is probably no fan of JC either at least treated him with the respect his win deserves.JC is 100% bang on the money on the Far Right, sees and understands the threat better than any of them and is best placed to communicate that danger.
Maitliss too, someone I do really like and rate couldn’t have shown more disdain if she tried, very, very disappointing.
I don’t like Jeremy’s philosophy but he means well and I’m sure he’s a lovely person. Harriet is angry but needs to realise that people voted for him!
Harman's done some genuinely incredible things, especially in leading the way to increase diversity in British politics (alongside Diane Abbott, of course). But she's also very capable of being profoundly stupid, as was on full display here.
I've always liked Rory Stewart, even when he was serving under Theresa May and the election night coverage only increased that. Alistair Campbell even managed to claw back a shred of respect from me as the night went on, especially here.
Yeah, it's pretty rich of Harman to call Corbyn out on "collective endeavour" when it was all the centrists who wouldn't get behind him when he was leader. And after the party kicked him out you can't really call him selfish to stand as an independent in the constituency where he's been the MP since the 1980s, and is clearly personally loved and respected by those voters. It's the current Labour leadership that is responsible for how that situation turned out.
The only politician with any dignity
Far Right or Right of centre ... let time tell.
the overton window has closed so much over the last 45 years, that sadly nigel f***** will be considered a moderate in 10-20 years.
ha ha haa couldn't interrupt him because of the delay!
Good luck islington, you going to need it
He's been their mp for 40 years you melt. 😂
They seem to have been doing ok for the last few decades mate…! Is it difficult for you to understand that people would vote for a man they have grown to trust…?
4:40 wow Rory what a tough question
