Did you happen to test the range on the Wi-Fi? If the range is good that would eliminate those mornings of collecting memory cards before I go up my stand and looking at them on my card reader.

I did not.. Now that you mention it that would be a good test. I suspect you would have to be pretty close to the camera for it to work well. Maybe within 10 yards or so.

Does it send you an alert on the app when motion is detected?

It does not. It is Wi-Fi only and not Cellular. Meaning you have to be pretty close to the camera to be able to connect.

Can you mount the solar panel separate from the camera?

Nope. The solar panel is built into the camera.
