This kid did what so many of us did. Started off as Scene kids that wanted shred and play progressive heavy tunes, but slowly evolved into hipsters that want to play tracks with more feeling in some type of new way while still holding onto that progressive flair.

God I wish I could afford a Larada, it’s such a nice a guitar, ergonomically, sound wise, everything, its beautiful. Hopefully they’ll be a giveaway at some point, because damn. Also I love how he makes an 8 string guitar, something made for metal and aggressive type music, sound like a Kalimba, that takes some serious talent

My dude Roopam, I've legit followed this guy for a long, long time now and I've never heard the guy speak lol. The surprising thing is that through his music, I was instantly drawn to follow the guy everywhere. Noww that I hear him share his philosophy on guitar, I realize that it's EXACTLY my feeling towards the instrument since I picked up the damn thing and never knew how to vocalize it. Also, I've said it like 500 times on your videos now but god darn son, RELEASE THOSE TRACKS ALREADY! Every bit of a new riff you write is one too little for my taste, insatiable appetite for those out-of-the-box ideas bro!

3:45 Small nitpick here, but a harmonic is done by separating the string into N even parts, where the frequency of the note is going to be the fundamental times that N, so in order to get a fifth you're dividing the string by 3, and the frequency of the note playing would be 300 Hz instead of 150Hz. Also, he's right about harmonics not falling in between frets because the rate of growth between harmonics is much less than that between frets for guitar.
I love his playing and his songs are pretty sick, but I still felt like it was worth pointing that out.

Christ, what a unique artist. Some effectively create a soundscape rather than a song. For as long as I’ve been listening to ambient music (Stellardrone, 36, Aleks Michalski, etc.), I’ve been seeing it slowly trickle into many of my other favorite types of music. Nothing has so closely resembled its fluidity as The Surrealist.
