A novel and refreshing interpretation of this lovely lyrical work, well worth our attention. The orchestra sounds rather muddy - perhaps mic placement, hall acoustic or both? - but Ms Fischer is a treat to hear, as always. Thanks for posting.

Schumann wrote this thing in Dusseldorf in less than one month but it remained almost completely obscure for more than 80 years thanks to Joseph Joachim. What a shame. Julia plays it very nicely although my favorite player for this is David Grimal.

....It's a pitty ,that finals tempo is pretty fast---all violinists play in that tempo....& no Robert Schuman metronome with mysterious result ,sorry....

Going too fast, doesn't allow for the emphasis on phrases that make this concerto so great. The Sayaka version has got it right.

Apart the solist the orchestra is not..conducted...musically I mean,they just play the notes...without breathing,some dotted notes should be more long and the shorts more short..Is not give any character the orchestra!Ridicoulous

Ich bewundere Mme Fischer, dass sie mit diesem Orchester noch ein recht musikalische Interpretation zustande brachte. Schade...

Ja, bei diesem Konzert ist einiges schief gelaufen, aber das ändert nichts an meiner Bewunderung für Mme Fischer. Das Orchester war mit dem gewählten Tempo im ersten und dritten Satz hörbar überfordert, was natürlich für die Solistin ein Stimmungs- und Konzentrationskiller ist. Generell sagt dies aber nichts über die Qualität der ausführenden aus, wir kenne ja die Umstände, unter denen das Konzert zustande kam nicht.
Also ungeachtet der kleinen Gitches: Bravo :)
