Why would he expect to be paid when walking into such a place? He was clearly doing it out of a civic duty. Four months late now, but sometimes fast-forwarding causes the "you stood me up" timer to go down before the taxi can show up. Playing at normal speed after arranging a date/outing might avoid the issue, but some people reported it still happening because of other issues like unpatched games (back when patches had to be done manually). I recommend getting the comm-skill mod. For some reason skill points can’t be made on community lots. Which makes libraries and gyms kinda usless (which is why there’s not really a gym in the neighborhoods so I would make a small one in the town you are playing. - good for regular gameplay also. I’d recommend a small library too)
There is also a mod to allow sleeping on community lots too. These will probably be the best mods in general to get ESPECIALLY the comm-skill mod. It’s cool because any npcs and townies will gain skills at the gym too or whatever they are doing on the community lots. At my library I have some chess boards and townies gain points also.

It also went by flying. It feels like its really to get a good house out of nothing in the Sims 2. He didnt have to scam anyone out of their money (outside of wrok at least) or get a particulary rich spouse (she just have more money than him, which is not saying much) to get to where he wanted. I guess pets being able to work helps a lot. That his dog was way more sucessful that him probably helped more so. We can all aspire to have such a hard working dog. One may even say thats the moral of the story.

@@vivusthevivusthing6182 Honestly, absolutely yes. Theres a reason why all this memorable sims are one-offs. Cause we all know, surely he does too, that Kevin will completely destroy their lifes if there ever was a return engagement. Its just that Noah feels a little more especial cause he didnt end up becoming a kidnapper or /and murderer. Wich is all the more reason to left them be.

This looked fun, so I wanted to give it a try but I only have the Sims 4. It is crazy how much easier it is to start off with nothing compared to what Kevin went through. It got me thinking, for the Sims 4, to make it a challenge -start off the same, but try to earn enough for a premade house and surviving by using only using public facilities or going to other peoples houses (without becoming a roomate). Shower at the gym, sleep on benches, cook on the grill at the park.... those kinds of things
