If someone failed in high school can do a carpentry job, and have almost 15 yrs of experience in their native place( India -Kerala). But no poof I have. you can make some practical exams for making sure my skill.
I don't know if it is the same in America but at the drop of carpenters could of been due to them splitting the trade into different parts. Framers were made into a separate trade than Carpenters

Haha wouldn't count on that man! I believe this concept of a robot that can do anything a person can do is ridiculous at this point in time... the human brain is very complex I don't think we will see carpenter robots anytime soon.
@@clay7182 exactly plus even in the future once we start getting too ok use robots for carpentry someone will still have to maintain AI and look after it and that will only make your work easier.. but I doubt that will be anytime soon so I would say don’t worry about it plus carpentry is a good gateway into construction.
I strongly believe that carpenters is the highest self employed trade because they dont get paid enough to be an employee. Could be wrong but that would be my guess.
I've thought about decks, in bigger cities I've found companies that specialize in decks, and I think that's what you got to look for, I was kinda thinking of cabinets myself because I always wanted to stand back to look at a finished kitchen. But I'm probably condemned to continue being a truck driver until I'm dead

@@amazinglats6020 coming from the military were pretty numb to BS so you can probably take it, but there are sides of it that suck. Because drivers deal with lots of BS, but not office kind of BS most people deal with. Aside from the shitty parts, you never see a boss, you're left alone alot. You get into audio books when driving and video games when you're not than you can really enjoy yourself. Do flatbed though, van has way to much BS, long wait times, appointment times are all around the clock. Flatbed has more normal hours because usually where you load/unload works from like 0500 to 1700, so it's easier to maintain a saneish sleep schedule. Also the bit of physical labor involved in securing and tarping gets the blood flowing. Also you get yourself a induction hotplate to cook with and you can eat well. I used to have a small propane camp stove and have sat on my flatbed cooking a steak dinner before. But the induction hot plate is better if you got the inverter to run it but most trucks got them these days along with refrigerators. Not all do but many do. For cold weather make sure you got some good base layers and look up neoprene sauna wear on Amazon, like wetsuits. The tank top and leggings under jeans and jacket keep you warm when untarping in really freaking cold weather. But yeah after listening to a couple of those videos of other people talking about their jobs, trucking is tough, but if you can deal with the BS, after 10 years I think it's better than a job dealing with people everyday. And if later you want to get into local, fuel hauling is where the money is at. I'm hauling crude oil now, there's money out here in west Texas, but it'd dirty work and I'm getting tired if it. Actually miss spending 8-10 hrs driving listening to an audio book all day, also miss hauling fuel because it was cleaner and fewer hours. So In summary, go flatbed, try to stay away from the mega carriers to avoid corporate politics. And don't be in such a hurry, you can hustle, but it won't get you much more. Working at 75mph isn't going to achieve much more than working at 65mph if that makes sense. If you can survive the first 6 months than you can survive. And if you take this step remember these two pointers. 1st: when backing, turn your steering wheel towards the mirror you want your trailer to be in. 2nd: don't turn your steering wheel faster than your tires are rolling. I'm slow as f-k in reverse, but I usually nail it the first time every time. And I've been doing crude oil for 5 years now so I can't recommend any companies because I just don't know any right now. But I'll answer any questions you got I can. This is the most I've typed in a while lol
