Your explanation is really great. But in CNG retrofitting, as per the layout plan approved by testing agency (ICAT, ARAI), we have to fix the filling valve in front side only. If you fit the filling valve backside, the RTO inspector is rejecting the vehicle by citing the improper layout of components.

Thanks for giving us better awareness of cng kits and also provide good knowledge we should be trust on aftermarket cng fittings. First of all you are using aftermarket cng. Once again thanks for best complement.
I have driven both external CNG kit suzuki and company fitted cng. The difference is in valves and distribution of CNG fuel supply is anytime good. The after market cng starts knocking/missing which never happens in Company fitted CNG. I drove after market fitted CNG of Lovato in Dzire ZXI but the performance was big issue. While when I drive Company fitted CNG in WagonR I drive my car on ghats on CNG itself.
Sunil Narsinghani I absolutely agree with you sir. But for an aftermarket fitment, you need to be an aware customer and be sure of the brand. Maruti cars give no problem with BRC CNG kits. This is because BRC is the one who supplies the company fitted kits too. Considering that Dzire had Lovato, the problems could have arisen because of compatibility issues only!

Yes u can....I hav fitted cng in Celerio AMT.
BUT personally speaking CNG suits good for manual vehicles bcoz in manual vehicles u can compensate the less power + cylinder weight issue, u wud get due to CNG by using clutch which in AMT u can't specially considering if u wanna take ur car in hilly areas.

Cng car running only on petrol gives less mileage ??
Had an 2008 Hyundai Santro Xing Automatic which was a good city car for my wife, converted it with aftermarket CNG kit and also endorsed it on the Registration Certificate including the kit even in insurance policy.
Difference is that performance is real low as the car just doesn't pick up from stationary position with AC on (had no problems like this with Petrol) so all I do is keep AC off whenever starting a trip and turn on AC once I gain speed, also at signal and speedbreakers need to switch off AC to move forward. But all this seems small niggles as nothing to beat th convenience of an Auto Transmission in a city like Pune and although CNG hampers performance hugely it's got a decent mileage (not in the league of manual though) I drive my car with AC always on and it gives me a mileage of 11km/kg in city and 14kms/kg on highways which I find decent for an Automatic in Pune City Traffic! I'm satisfied over-all!! But for people who'd like to fit a CNG to their Auto Cars please note that the drop in pick up etc is a huge so only if you can live with that you should go in for a CNG conversion. My Santro Auto is mostly used by wife and within city so it's all ok, I drive Fiat Linea Diesel which is fantastic for me and still going strong even after 10 years with zero trouble yet....!

@@ameyagundale yeah it sure is, built like a tank with all features that weren't even standard in 2010 like two airbags, Bluetooth, alloys, etc. Never liked the audio quality though which I took care by changing into some great component speakers and a JBL Enclosed Woofer with air dam and now the car rocks the way I want 🙂 and best part is even with that big woofer there's still so much room in the boot. Well I'd also gone in for the revised and raised suspension set up which Fiat came in with in 2012 (for Indian Market only) with ground clearance of 180 like a crossover.

I want to fit cng kit on my ertiga zxi+ 2019. Qk all over average srf 12kmpl ka mil raha hai mujhe. Maruti walo ne bhi bahot galat kaam kiya hai. Cng variant ko 6 month baad launch kiya
Same with me hv new ertiga zxi+ ,did cng fitting fron outside as maruti launched cng variant late, milenge and rest all is doing good, but check engine light came twice and had to go to fitter garage to reset it...

1. Petrol fill lid main cng fill: look good and clean .
But cng atn par ek perticular direction se hi ja sakte.
Sabhi passengers ko cng stn par itrana hi hota hai.
2. Bonnet filling. Looks not so cool , but that is not a fashion contest.

Bro, I drive CNG car and auto cut and ecu are only available in company fitted CNG car in case of any impact this becomes life saver. This is why factory fitted CNG is more expensive...
ECU is available in aftermarket sequential aftermarket CNG kits too.
ECU is the main difference between the old manual CNG kits and new sequential CNG kits.

It is easy to get filled cng in case of after market cng as you can choose cng machine on any side whether in case of company fitted, you have to put your vehicle in queue having machine on left.
All company fitted cng has option to be filled from left only. So we have to wait for in case of company fitted cng.

company fitted cng is always better for your safety and performance and overall long term milage, in this era of competition why the companies like maruti are doing research on cng fitting, if its so easy to install why not the hired some educated mechanic to fit those kits in ANY MODEL not only some particular model, if they are able to install in any model their sell will increase day by day.
the only problem with company fitted is, its cylinder get fills less quantity fuel which is only due to the better heavy quality of cylinder.
pls dont prove that u did the best thing by applied after market kit, it may be your choice, but if u have taken lxi cng and after market accessories like touch screen for making it comfortable as vxi, it will reduce your tension in long term
Hi Nishi Did you know Maruti sources kits from BRC themselves? Also, brands like Lovato and Tomasetto have got engineers who do research. Developing a universal thing that fits any car is a greater achievement I guess because you can cater larger audience with that :)
OEM like maruti will do a thorough testing even years of research... Then they will come up with a product... Y u don't see electric wagon r in showroom bcs testing is going on for years and years of testing.... Finally they will put a product on the table ...

Sir first of all it's not a good decision to fir CNG in an automatic car. This is because CNG reduces the power and then the gearbox will not be able to shift gears properly by itself. If you want to get CNG fitted I will suggest a manual car for achieving better performance and a long engine life. Please don't get into the words of the dealerships who fit CNG with AMT! They just have to achieve sales
