Another thing people do that causes them pain is trying to give people reasons for WHY they’re doing what they’re doing.. if someone does something that HURTS you, they hurt you. Why they did it is a secondary issue whether they knew or not is besides the point . If you point out the hurt and they give excuses or justifications learn to understand and empathize with people while taking steps to protect yourself from their actions. If you had an employee that was a single mother with financial problems who stole from the company, you can understand why they did what they did but would you go on trusting them with money? No? Exactly.
