if a school is only good/viable because of a card they cant even learn that comes from a pet...... then its prob not in the "healthiest state it has ever been" but idk
I had made 3 different death pets about 3 years ago and each time i finished one maycast balance blade got nerfed, my cards got banned, or something else would happen. i haven't played pvp since.
Honestly IMO 5th age was the worst thing to ever happen to this game, and I don't say that lightly. I could spend forever listing awful changes and updates but this one has to take the cake for me. It feels like the PvP community shrunk by like 80% since 5th age, the barrier to entry is so much higher now, schools are way more unbalanced, everything is determined by matchup, the only league that anyone actually plays is max, any unique strategy got killed stone dead, everything is unbelievably pay to win (ESPECIALLY at lower leagues). Any advantage that a school has a premier league is magnified a hundred fold at exalted or grandmaster. Like I've tried to get into modern PvP but it just isn't fun anymore.
Roshambo seemed like a cool system at first but I feel like it needs a rework and should be simplified more. The game definitely needed more utilities but as it is, a lot of games are determined by matchups since schools are now just designed to have an inherent advantage or disadvantage against others. Dual schooling was supposed to fix that apparently but it hasn't really been implemented well at all yet. I'm not sure what the developers are planning for roshambo and dual schooling, I feel like they're just winging it and letting the players figure it out for them
kinda sad to see storm getting nerfed so quickly after just reaching the top of the meta (besides balance), the first time in 5th age, but i do agree that it isnt sticking to its roshambo with overtimes and blade counters.
I just got back into the game 2 months ago, i roll a death to learn peev again then it gets nerfed (needed). then I was like ight whats kinda mid grade at the time and storm was so i was like okay surely that doesnt get nerfed so i rolled storm and now im sad again.
Y’all aren’t with the prism tech. When storm elf is banned im going to be running glimpse and prism. Glimpse off the set shields for myth traps, then just prism all the future set shields until you can shrike, and the glimpse traps will buff you

@@Kithara- That's comparing Apples to Oranges, drains were 113 DPP and Death's DPP is designed around 85, so that wasn't really a "nerf" it was just making the school what it's designed to be.
The problem was never how annoying the pet was, it was the fact that the spell wasn't being applied to school identity. You projecting your lack of skill because you can't be bothered to learn how to play around a schools strengths says more about you than the game. Disliking beetle pet just shows that you have no idea how to play the game you are commenting on(5:10 in the video above) because beetle as a spell follows storms identity.
