Moreover, they kept the Double X somewhere safe until they have to use it again so yeah, Mighty Strike Freedom would probably be kept either in Freedom's old hanger or in the Morgoenette underwater facility so Erika Simmons may make a nuclear fusion reactor for Mighty Strike Freedom anyway.

Eventually losing the Freedom only to have it replaced by a far more powerful Freedom! Same with Athrun and his Justice

So, I don't think it's wrong to say that he won't get involved in the frontline fights. Sunrise said that this movie was the conclusion of Kira and Lacus story. Plus we got a perfect ending scene with the sunset and the song. Although I don't know what Mr Fukuda is planning, if he brought back Lacus and Kira as main protagonists again, he would ruin their characters. I am not sure that fans want Kira and Lacus to come back as protagonists again.

It's okay, they all could've, and probably have happened: 1. Old Minerva crew paying respects to their lost. After that, Shinn and Luna fondly recall academy days and Rey. After Luna questions him on letting Agnes walk all over him, he explains he doesn't want to be angry anymore, (still haunted by his actions) admiting she was right about some things. After Luna consoles him about those miserable affairs, further delibarates on his uncomfort in Immortal J and his uncertainty whether he is doing the right thing right way. Then they are called for the trip to Foundation. 2. As the Milleniums pilots get ready, Agnes tries to pick on Luna, who is the only 1 being left behind, to went her frustrations over Kiras rejection, taking more jabs on her relationship with Shinn, even going as far as to mention Lunas ex. Shinn then pulls rank and sends Agnes away with an angry look. He then tries to apologise for the other night, but Luna says they'll talk later. Shinn and the Harkeen Team then go, with him promising to be back. Movie really needs more scenes. It's not well balanced and put together like all the other Gundam movies. Honestly, at this point, I don't see how they could continue to develop the story of SEED without it starting to feel repetitive... unless they go and change the cast of core characters. The Millennium team is already so busted (and have all undergone so much character development at this point), that focusing on them again wouldn't really bring much new to the story. I feel it'd be better to skip ahead to the future where maybe the main cast are older and serve like mentors. I could see a new protagonist be like a rookie squad member under the command of an seasoned version of Shinn or something like that. They probably won't do it, but it'd be a welcome change.

As a long-time gundam seed destiny fan, this movie felt... "Off." Like it was more of "soft reboot" than a sequel. There's plenty of " inconsistencies." And the plots was basically Destiny in a 2 hour form. In my head connon, this happened in a "parallel universe" from the original seed timeline, and we have yet to see the real sequel to Destiny. Which I would imagine would be very born because everyone is at peace. And you can't sell peace with the mobile suit gundam franchise. Even the upcoming "Netflix gundam" feels like a parallel from 0079. It just gets me thinking.🤔🤔🤔
I personally felt that both Kira and Lacus retired from compass duties and won't fight on the frontline in war again. However since both of them are young, I feel like Kira would be involved in programing and gundam creation with Erica Simmons in secret. Lacus with the help of the Clyne faction could investigate Matters of other countries in secret and send the information to Cagalli. The ending of the novel gives the impression that Kira and Lacus are now important background characters (in the shadows). Cagalli and Athrun are now fully in the limelight and the frontline of matters. Kira gave the responsibility of Millennium to Shinn. So, they too will continue to work in Compass. Hopefully, it is as I think. I feel that if a sequel is created and Kira comes back as protagonist again, it would ruin the perfect ending of GSF for them. Instead, I would prefer that the studio explore the relationship of Athrun and Cagalli and their future together as well as that of Shinn and Luna. Those 4 gave more blank spaces in their pasts and futures that can be used for a sequel.

I find this movie so disturbing tbh. Idk how everyone is just ok with it. This entire time, since gundam seed, i never understood what the main cast is trying to achieve. They are essentially back to square one. Nothing about the state of the world changed, they still hate eachother to the point of wanting to commit genocide and the first villain since gundam seed predicted everything that's happening to them rn. Everything happened exactly as he said, down to his very last word. If anything, this movie proves both villains were in the right when it came to the reality of their situation. Everytime kira and lacus was confronted sbout this, they would spout idealistic nonsense like they did in this movie. I remember that final conversation between orphee and kira/lacus. The dude was straight up spitting facts but they never actually countered argued him. Their responses were basically, "that's not true", "humans are not born out of necessity but out of love", can you be anymore incorrect than this? This entire time, i was just hoping they would lose because the main cast is so dam blind it hurts. The ending is basically fk everyone, we had a happy ending. There's gotta more to just music and cringeworthy scenes that makes a good movie for you guys. The success of this movie speaks volumes about how shallow the audience is.
Is there any confirmation that Cagalli's aide is a new Carbon Human of Prayer Reverie representing the clones of Librarian Works&Mars colony thru their connection with Orb. The aide looked like a younger version of Mu La Flaga. Like all of the La Flaga clones, they have an expiration date. So there could be an adult Carbon Human in the Mars colony while a younger version is in Orb to represent the interests of the colony on Earth.
The Al Da Flaga clones has a shorter life due to a problem with the cloning tech shortening the telomeres. This damage retains to carbon humans if the base, like Prayer, have these shortened telomeres. The carbon human process seems to be a rewriting of another human's DNA and altering that persons memories. Touya Mashima, Cagalli's aid, doesn't seem to be an Al Da Flaga clone as his hair is too dark and I doubt Cagalli would be okay with any of that especially if it involves her friend Mu. Also Mashima is one of the 5 noble orb families. Why Touya looks so much like Mu... No idea.
