Hello everyone, this is Japan Sci-Fi. We now know a new movie, Gundam Seed Freedom, is on the horizon. However, a burning question remains: What mobile suit will Shin pilot? Although there hasn't been an official announcement, I have managed to deduce the identity of Shin’s mobile suit through a frame-by-frame analysis of the trailer, and from a comment made by Director Fukuda. Cutting to the chase, it appears Shin will be piloting the Immortal Justice during the first half of the movie. In the second half, he will transition to piloting the refitted Destiny Gundam, which is derived from Heine Westenfluss' Destiny Gundam. This speculation is based on a particular scene in the Gundam SEED DESTINY remaster. Allow me to elaborate.
Shin Asuka, our favorite hothead who seems capable of destroying everything around him, is an emotionally charged yet likable character. He even once defeated the almighty Kira Yamato in single combat. Though initially the main character in the narrative, Shin's spotlight was stolen by Kira Yamato in the latter half of Seed Destiny, relegating Shin to a less flattering role. It's a harsh reality, but such is the whimsical world of the comic era where fairness is a rare commodity.
Being a Shin’s fanboy, my hope is that Shin will get a chance to shine in SEED FREEDOM. The question remains: what will be his mobile suit in the movie? There are three possibilities: Immortal Justice, Impulse Gundam Spec II, and Gyan Strom. The first candidate, Immortal Justice, appears to be a successor to the Justice and Infinite Justice Gundams. Shin may pilot the Immortal Justice, as close quarter combat is his forte. Equipped with a plethora of melee weapons like the beam shield with a huge beam stinger, beam boomerang, foot beam sabre, and the Griffon beam blade, Immortal Justice aligns well with Shin’s close-quarter-centric fighting style. The next possibility is Impulse Gundam Spec II. Though its appearance in the movie is confirmed, the Impulse Spec II merely sports a color change from its predecessor. Ah, classic Bandai, tweaking the color scheme slightly to market a new Gunpla. The third candidate is Gyan Strom. Trailers indicate Agnes will pilot the Gyan, and with two Gyan Stroms confirmed, it's plausible Shin might pilot one.

Obviously ZAFT still uses the Hyper-Deuterions power capacitor to power their high performance MS like the Impulse. Out of the most powerful MS that's not nuclear powered is the Legend Gundam if its dragoons are hard docked to its backpack. The problem with those MS is their capacitor's operational time. IMO, Orb is close to developing a GN drive if they modified the Neutron Jammer technology.
How would Ord develop a GN Drive?

Since the 3 ships alliance shared tech including the NJ/C tech, Orb can control the alpha/beta decay of atoms, technically it could go both ways with step1 being the Minovsky Fusion/MegaParticle technology or go a step further into developing the GN drive. As for the MegaParticles, it's likely a very heavier Helium isotope molecule as it's the primary fuel for the UC era M-Fusion process&byproduct is the MegaParticle. ZAFT is already using the HyperDeuterion technology as an energy capacitor. Instead of Deuterium, it contains MegaParticles. Take that one step further and turn that MegaParticles into something bigger&manipulate it so that it's a massive baryon molecule that can be manipulated using the NJ/C tech. The GN drives decomposes baryon particles and store them into GN condensers. Overall it's the Hydrogen&Helium elements being manipulated by the NJ/C tech into its component particles like baryons and being able to store them.
@@jonbonda1917 GN Drives uses Baryonic Decay as an energy source and is wildly different compared to the fuel source used by Nuclear Fission Reactors. This is a pretty big leap in logic in terms of a Nuclear Fission Reactor, it'd be far more believable for Orb to develop a Nuclear Fusion Reactor first and then possibly a Minovsky Ultracompact Fusion Reactor second with the development and use of an I-field as a containment field within the Reactor itself.
@@thegamingdemon4788 True but the Fictional NJ/C tech manipulates the fundamental universal forces like the Weak Nuclear, Strong Nuclear, EM. Don't think the NJ/C tech manipulates gravity. Since NJ/C tech is more of a weak/strong force, it's not out of the question that by developing the tech further especially with its weak force manipulation of the baryon particle decay, it will lead to the development of the GN drive. To contain the decayed particles requires the manipulation of the strong force with the NJ/C tech. Same goes with the Megaparticle, the strong force manipulation for the heavier Helium isotopes into forming into a helium molecule.
@@thegamingdemon4788 As mentioned earlier the Minovsky/MegaParticle tech is the first step. For the GN drive, it's a couple generations later from the Minovsky but the principle is that the NJ/C tech manipulates the Strong&Weak Nuclear forces. That baryon particles has to come from somewhere and that's where the Minovsky tech has to be fully developed first and its particle decay byproducts from the fusion helium reactions are going to be hydrogen&helium isotopes that are considered to be baryons.The MegaParticles will decay to baryons of protons/hydrogen nucleus. So it's multiple steps circular process from Deuterium/Helium to MegaParticle to Hydrogen/Baryons that could be refined with the end result as a GN drive.

I gave up on this series mid first season due to various reasons i cant remember, but i went to see freedom yesterday out of curiosity, ... i cant say i liked it but it was enjoyable. i got a bunch of mixed feelings about it overall and it definitely put me off watching the original series (also pleasantly surprised that see-saw made the ending theme).
But this is most likely because i didn't have any previous background knowledge or attachment to the characters, i guess.
I was so curious about the background conflicts and plot points tho, and this does explain everything going on.
Tbh my japanese is not that great so half the faction's names and locations went over my head lol so this video helped a lot whit this too. so thank you

I can’t believe this much lore (like a textbook’s worth) was in place before the original Seed even started, and I only heard of very little of it even after finishing Seed and Seed Destiny.

I can't tell with half the pronunciations if narrator is doing it on purpose to avoid being censored by youtube, but it's off putting and the subtitles make it worse when you're reading it correctly and hearing it wrong. Lacus => Lucus, Gundam => Goondum, Athrun => Autroon, but later says Gundams as Gundoms, so at this point consistency is all over the place. The question that is being raised is has this person actually watched the entire SEED/Destiny timeline or are they just spitting out facts and using pics/scene grabs for the sake of putting this video essay together.

a weak, helpless and pathetic Cagalli is a crime. Shame Morosawa for destroying what would've been a great sequel. We got like 3 episodes in and the entire cast of characters are already doing 180 of what they were supposed to be and without any reason.

@@Nataku302Actually no..Shin's character bound to fall because of its initial plot..Also Cagalli's VA complains, further set Shin's character to fall...As in the first part.Cagalli/ORB was the antagonist/enemy side.. Athrun on the other hand fells in a difficult situation where his lover and his subordinate bound to kill each other..Shin set was initial protagonist, but since the plot is difficult to continue, it was slowly shifted to Athrun's, but since it's not enough they make the return of Kira, which helps to make Athrun's character stable and finally Shin's character..
