Great review as usual. The nicest Days Inn I've ever seen. Not exactly a high bar but this one clears it. I so need to get to Fiesta Texas at some point.
There's a Choice hotel just around the corner from that one. It's a couple blocks off the interstate. About ten years old, my wife and I stayed there a couple times a while back. A tad nicer than the Days Inn. Of course, it cost a bit more...
My first choice was actually a Sleep Inn a few exits away, but they were asking a huge premium for refundable rates. This trip was a bit shaky with COVID so I opted for the refundable option here.
That stained sheet would still bother me. Depending on what the mattress looked like I might have to rip it off the bed and throw it onto the floor. Or take it to the front desk and ask for a clean one.
I normally tell people to avoid Days Inn like the plague, but it seems this one is an exception. That said though, I do kind of get the feeling that the reason your room was good is because it was close to what you said were the living quarters of the owner, and with that said, it's probably more well cared for than the other rooms here. This place doesn't seem too bad, but personally, if you can afford to stay somewhere nicer, I would. But I know that isn't always an option.
Wow! That's amusing when you open the bathroom door and the door hits the toilet!😆😆. Hope no one squeezes through that bathroom door when you gotta take a dump.
Great review. Glad to see you keep coming back to San Antonio xD. I would suggest if your in the mood for plane spotting to head to SA Airport because they are alot of planes parked (AA has a maintenance base with VT SA). Ive seen an AC 787 parked there too.
@@TheElevatorChannel Yeah I'm thinking Air Canada is storing some of their planes in the area because of the pandemic. Nice to see it is still there cause I havent been out there in ages.
That bathroom exhaust fan is inexcusable, you can get a whole retrofit kit on Amazon for $50, it includes a new fan and cover with light fixture and light cover, you don't have to remove the old fan casing, just remove the wingnut above the light bulb, pull down the old cover, unplug the light and fan, pull down the old fan, usually there's a single hex head screw and it just levers down and pulls out, and install the update kit, which is the inverse of removal, the new cover should be as large or larger than the old cover, it can be done in under 10 mins by a housekeeper with an instruction sheet
@@TheElevatorChannel Probably because they would need to patch in some new drywall or cut a larger hole, as that size of exhaust fan is largely NLA and has been since the late 90s
Seems like you found a hidden gem in the Days Inn system. Very good bed, the bathroom door made me crack up laughing. But that desk, I'm sorry but there's no excuse for it to be that disgusting. Still, I'd pay $50 a night for this.
The stained sheet killed it for me. Either some coke had been spilled on it at one time or worse..... Nope, not sleeping on it. Amazing that when changing the bed linens that wasn’t thrown out. Disgusting.
It's a nice looking hotel besides the uncleaned desk, the not plugged in alarm clock, the cigarette burn in the blanket, the worn towels, it's a nice looking hotel, and I have been to the park that this hotel is nearby
I used to do the same stuff man lol and then go through a period of guilt trip. I often get very upset with Hotel owners minutes before checkout standing at my door banging / YELLING "You've got five minutes to vacate or we're going to charge you for another night"
Wyndham is actually rolling out a new decor package for Days Inn that appears to include more modern bedding. Not sure how long it will take all the franchisees to get on board though.
Thanks! Yeah, Days Inn is all over the place. Locations range anywhere from run down motels, to nice ones like this, to more upscale (similar to Comfort Inn). I don't think Wyndham knows what this brand is supposed to be.

That's a REALLY good room for $50. I've seen some baaaad roach motels for 50 bucks and this one looks pretty decent.
Awesome video! I've really missed your travel/hotel videos!

yes i am a Choice Hotel customer.

Better than one would expect from Days Inn.
Yes! I absolutely love his hotel reviews.
Thank you so much for the heart!!!
Jacob glad to still see ya around. I love the hotel reviews. Keep up the great work.
Not to bad for a Days Inn, I like those LED lights on the front
they help you find the place.
The days inn logo looks amazing!
That stained sheet would still bother me. Depending on what the mattress looked like I might have to rip it off the bed and throw it onto the floor. Or take it to the front desk and ask for a clean one.
I was thinking the same thing.

The elevator channel you’re in San Antonio! I live in San Antonio!
@Aryan Adhikary no I’m not doing that. Don’t say that to me.
@Aryan Adhikary it’s ok

Thank you for the video
I styed at one Days inn before. Never again! Bed was so firm I woke up with A backache!
Did you ever consider to use a U.V. light throughout the room during your room inspection?
You do not wanna do that
Is there an elevator?
Who needs an elevator? It’s pretty small, but nice!
@@evanholloway1692 I dunno maybe SOMEONE IN A WHEELCHAIR?!?!
@@Ih8kone The hotel offers downstairs rooms for wheelchair support. As the hotel is relatively small and only 2 floors.
Great to see the videos coming back! (Great video, as always)

That 787 is still there--spotted it on my way out of town.
@@TheElevatorChannel Yeah I'm thinking Air Canada is storing some of their planes in the area because of the pandemic. Nice to see it is still there cause I havent been out there in ages.
It's not bad, I like that there are a lot of power and USB outlets on the lamps.

he (Jacob) should tell the hotel about the retrofit kit.
@@SamSitar They probably wouldn't listen, typical of corporate hotels
Funny how they seem to be taking so much care with maintaining the outside, yet let something like that slip in a room.
@@TheElevatorChannel Probably because they would need to patch in some new drywall or cut a larger hole, as that size of exhaust fan is largely NLA and has been since the late 90s
Whadya expect? It's a $50 room at Days Inn! 😆😆😆😆
That's pretty good for $50
YAYYYYY UR BACK‼️‼️‼️‼️
yes i enjoy his videos as well.

I dig the goofy 70s colors! 😂😂😂😂 Overall I guess it's above and beyond for an economy chain.

Really not terrible for a Days Inn! And I actually have that same shower control in my basement
I really love this hotel I would love to go to this one when I go to San Antonio!
I love hotels so much. Don’t know about you, but I always take whatever is free in the room (soap, coffee, etc...)

That overstuffed chair looked dirty on the video
Clean the desk and supply ample towels and I wouldn't complain if this was $100 honestly.
I had the sanitizing wipes they passed out on my flights so I just used those to wipe down the desk :)
@@TheElevatorChannel That works... as long as you didn't have to use sanitizing wipes to dry off after taking a shower too. 😆
This hotel looks a lot better than Tamworth, NH where I stayed for the night.
Jog my memory! Have you and DieselDucy ever made a review video together?
Have you ever encountered bed bugs at any of these budget properties?
Do you know when this hotel was built?
7.5
Not a bad room Jacob. That bed spread has got to go however. Just says 70s or 80s.

I spy a missing air filter on that PTAC unit there.
I would go to the menger hotel
Would you recommend to check out a Day’s inn in your opinion?
