I'm glad you did this video! The consistent spacing is great! Also, one of my great frustrations with G scale is the inability to run certain locomotives and rolling stock on anything less than a 10 foot curve.
Great video . I have a platform 24 inches wide , what’s the width of the v5 inner track I can’t find the proper specs online or I’m looking at the specs wrong .
Hello, Thank you for running this test using the 4014 Big Boy on the inside track. After seeing this video I'm a little confused about something here. I'm interested in trying out my 1st N-Scale Double TrackLayout and I think the Set is from the Kato V11 Please correct me if I'm wrong about this information. What I would like to know about this particular set would be if the 4014 Big Boy could run strictly on the inside portion of the V11 Double Track Set running with Maxi Containers going alongside the outer radius Track using basically the same type of cars either in the same direction or in the opposite direction. I'm curious as to see what happens 😊in the final results.
The Kato V11 is even wider radius, the outside is about 16 inches the inside about 15 inches. So any n scale train layout will run great. It has the super elevated curves. it is the only track I ever put together I had to read the directions. The cures have small arrows underneath, so arrows hook together and no arrows hook together.

Kato m1 is 12 3/8" and v6 is 13 3/4" radius. The big boy is supposed to be able to handle 11" according to Kato.

Kato 11 inch radius will lay inside the M1 at the same distance the M1 is from your outside track you have in your lay out.
Nice video 👌 friend 😊
In real life the Big Boy did overhang around curves
V5 is tighter
