2023 Genesis G90 Review: ua-cam.com/video/tmDqZWK31js/v-deo.html
Kevin
I truly enjoy your precise yet engaging manner of speaking.
Been toying with idea of getting an Equus after seeing it here. Now the K900… Mind blown seeing how cheap they are! I’m cool With it I have nothing to prove. But my question is how does one find a. “ good Hyundai dealership mechanic”? I live near Philadelphia. Respect Kev
So I would personally just try to find a CPO Genesis G80/G90 or even a Lexus ES that’s also CPO all of these cars will pretty much get the job done and will be under warranty as long ash it’s CPO. Best way to find a quality dealership is to use Google and find the largest dealers that have 100s if not 1000s of 5 star reviews and only go to them. With Hyundai it’s easy to tell if they are a good dealer because if they sell new Genesis cars that means they have proven themselves to be a great Hyundai store so they got certified to sell Genesis. But don’t touch any of these luxury cars without a warranty
I bought one from carmax for the price of a used camry. 22k or so with 35kmlies. I had it since 2018, and the only issue has been a battery change. Runs excellent and just over 92k as of now. Anyone who has rode inside is always impressed. The leg room, and overall luxury cannot be beat for the price.
Was gonna get one from Carvana two years ago but the Mrs. wanted the 2014 Lexus LS460.....happy wife happy life.
I have it too. The only thing I don't like is the suspension. The car is way too bouncy for me.
How is it with performance? Obviously it’s geared towards comfort and luxury, but is it a vehicle that you could have fun with, even with it being 4500+ pounds?
@@Dlow2 It's not a vehicle you can have fun with. It's made for comfort.
It rides smooth at high speeds. Yoi foeget how fast you're going. It's rwd so I burnt some rubber before I swapped my tires out. Did some donuts in the parking lot at work.
I had one with the V8. I had zero problems out of it the whole time I had it. I did oil changes and had a ac refill. Only thing I ever did to the car the whole time I had it. Car was surprisingly quick once it was moving huge rear seat. I would constantly hear "this is a Kia?!Wow" The exhaust also sounds quite mean with just a muffler change which added to the "wow this doesn't sound like a Kia" remarks.
I’m the owner of a K9 2016. I have about 48,000 miles on it. I love it I would like to buy the 2023 I know they’re not importing them anymore. I’ve been the owner of a seven series BMW, E class, Infiniti, Q 45, and my wife drives an Audi. I love my K 900 and will look for another one. Thanks for your review. It was really nice. Got kind of tired of those high repair bills, my K 900 has been solid with no problems to report other than hitting three raccoons. On my way from Oklahoma. Keep up the good work.
RIP 🦝🦝🦝
Thank you for sharing this!
Cool 😎
I really like them and not only the looks the whole car stands out and seems to be a good solid vehicle.
a lot of luxury for a very low price 👍👍👍, thanks Kevin.
For sure my friend!
I brought a 2015 for 17k with 52k mile and I love it
This is a very nice vehicle for the money. We had a couple for sale at my dealership and they seem to be a reliable quality vehicle. I seen a couple of guys switch the Kia emblem out for the Korean spec emblems, it gave the K900 a more unique look. I would not be surprised if this car and the Equus becomes a collector item in 20 years due to their limited production numbers.
I agree!
It's a bad sign when people are replacing the name brand of your car to a blank emblem !
When I was considering this car, I googled KIA replacement emblems and I was shocked to find that there were a lot of people who wanted to cover up that Kia badge !
They would have sold more cars if they removed the Kia name from the front and especially the steering wheel !
On the steering wheel you can never escape the fact that you are driving a KIA !
Wow!
Is The Hyundai Equus A Decent Reliable Vehicle?
I Constantly See Negative Articles About Them.
@superdude7459 I owned a 2012 Equus awhile ago and it was a reliable vehicles for me. However I only had 50k miles on it when I traded it in. I am not sure about long term reliability.
@@350zlover2
Well yeah!
I'm seeing where the air suspension on them go out faster than people expect them to along with a few other issues.
Very nice vehicle though.
If I could drop a Toyota or Honda Engine in one I would and ride along smiling. 👍🏽🙂
This is the best review about the K900 that I´ve seen. Also called Kia Quoris in other markets. I own one, I love it, I've been trough every brand, and let me tell you guys, this car has nothing to envy a 7 series or an S class. In fact I say as a funny quote that this is a 7 series that never fails. It takes some of putting the ego aside, no need to show off with a badge, and make a more mature buy. This is a fantastic car. Drive one and notice that it´s not just the gadgets, it´s the way this car rides and feels, like the best.
Thank you for shedding light! Bought a 15 k9 v8 w 74k mi on Carvana for 22k in Nov after losing my beloved 12 5cyl Passat to a drunk driver in Nov. Drove it 4 hours to vacation at a triple digit avg speed just minutes after signing delivery. Having rented an M5 in between and at the time skeptical of Kia brand (at first looking at a 15 A8L W12), took a jump and absolutely love this car. The VIP/elite package combines 7 series and A8L features save air ride, carplay and massages. All but the last I didn’t even want, and preferred naturally asp anyway. It is a beast to drive and so very comfortable. Great value and trouble free today 8k miles in 4mos later. Lmk if you would ever like to film with it!
5 -8 years ago a 6 Cyl. BMW 3-series or Mercedes C-class with a few nice options had cost in Germany $ 70 - 80k and the K900 cost +- $ 60k, no more to say.
I just bought 2015 yesterday and I’m in love😈
Nice!
How’s it holding up now? I’m looking to get one
I always considered the Hyundai Equus and Kia K900 as pretty much equivalents. Prior to the automarket insanity, both were some of the most incredible pre-owned bargains around, especially for a luxury sedan. Now that the market has started to calm down a little, they will probably start dropping in $$ again.
Definitely agree, I purchased a Equus when they first came out and I can honestly say it was favorite vehicle I have ever owned. I have owned 35 vehicles in my life so I experienced alot of nice vehicles. My Lexus GS350 is a close second and my Acura Legend Coupe rounds out my top 3 favorites!
@350z Lover
You have good taste in vehicles. The Legend Coupe is one of my favorite automobile designs of all time. Such a timeless design.
Thank you my friends for stopping by! I believe the Equus is slightly above the K900 but for sure they are very closely related but they are def some great value products probably best to buy CPO tho if possible
I have a 2014 Cadenza SXL. I wanted a K900 but i started looking when used car prices started to skyrocket. I had my eye on a K900 and saw it go from $16K to $24K in a weeks time. And it sold! I scooped up my 2014 Cadenza which has all the same features of the K900 in a slightly smaller car and i love it. People that ride with me are always impressed.
Had both. 2015 VIP and now a 2019 AWD. Absolutely love these cars. Better have an aftermarket warranty tho
learned that the hard way 3.5k to fix the EPB module, and how u liking the 2019? I have a 2015 and want to upgrade but heard the 2019 is more performance oriented versus comfort like the 2015, comfort is most important to me
I own a 2015 K900 and it has held up very well. With only 48K miles still drives well.
I saw on of these on the road the other day with the V8 badge in the back and was so curious about what it was cause it was really moving lol
😅 nice!
I had it and miss it.. only issue was the left headlamp got stuck on the down position.
i was waiting for a video on this particular car cuz recently i’ve been interested in it to and for $20k used from 3rd party sellers, its alot of car for the money🙌🏽
For sure! Just be sure to get a warranty if you go through with it
@@MeynMotorGroup
And a 🔥 extinguisher.
Definitely worth buying!
Man, I loved these too!
Nice!
Got mine straight piped everybody loves my k900 😊
This vehicle is really cool to own if you don't expect much and have a great warranty. The V8 and 8 speed transmissions definitely aren't great, and the air suspension was extremely unreliable. Rattling timing chain on the V8 and the trans made of glass were the downfall of this vehicle.
Edit: Air suspension was Equus not this vehicle.
Thanks for sharing this!
Kevin never mentioned that the K900 was air suspension.

i remember when the telluride came out the msrp in all dealerships in nyc was wild we talking like 10k over msrp
Great pick, Kevin... Hyundai/Kia knew it would take a while to get into the luxury market. I moved to Korea in 2010. They had the Equus, K900, Cadenza, and Genesis for years in South Korea. It was difficult enough to get buy-in from Korean executives.
The Hyundai Group is huge and it became common to finally see their own vehicles used as limos at corporate headquarters when I was there in 2017.
American luxury buyer: "What do you think I rap for, to push a Rav4?"
😂 yea they definitely had to overcome that brand hurdle but they’ve definitely done it now especially with the Genesis brand. Hyundai is def rich af with all their steal and wealth management businesses they have
Actually thinking about buying the 2015 V8 model, every review I've read concludes that it was a really good product.
I love mine just watch out for the EPB module issue, costs me 3.5k to fix a lot of models have them. If you can find a 2017 I think that will be better. Theres a lot of parts that are falling off the car, I love it tho mechanically it has been a beast
I have a 2014 Equus but have been eyeballing a k900. These Korean luxury cars are a steal
I got a k900 and been eye balling the Equus lol, maybe we can switch lol. I want that air ride
I'm one of the 300 that purchase. 2019 k900. Could have got a base 5 series/ e class for the same money. I made the right decision. The vehicle is the best I've owned. The dealer is the worse I've had
Thanks for sharing!
A small note, the kia borrego was actually the first v8 kia in the states, also a sales flop and pretty rare.
Yes my friend you are correct, someone else had commented this as well Borrego was the first V8 Kia
Cool 😎
Should I go for one? Or
Nissan Altima
Toyota Camry
Hyundai Sonata
Used Lexus IS
Volkswagen Passat
Kia Optima
Honda Accord
Kia K900
🤔
I was in high school at the time when the first gen came out and have always wanted one. Sadly now that I can afford it, its no longer being made
Yea def a cool car
The Kia/Hyundai dealership experience is trash 🗑️. Crazy markups for Hybrids at least $3K in the Austin TX area. The company really needs to do something about this.
Well it’s not trash because of the markup every one is doing that you just gotta learn where to look for the deals
10:24 edit: The Kia Borrego was the first Kia with a v8 Tau engine offered from the manufacturer.
Yes you are correct I mis-spoke, I meant to say the K900 is the first Kia Sedan to use a V8. First Kia in general to have a V8 was the Borrego thank you.
I love my 2015 k900 👀
We never got this car the best we got is the Optima, but some great news Kia will be releasing their ute/truck next year in single and dual cab with three power trains, a 2.2 turbo diesel, a 2.5 turbo from Hyundai's N cars and an electric the puts out 800Nm of torque! here in Aus, hopefully you'll get them in the States too.
Oh wow that is awesome and those are some great powertrains. Since it’s a Kia I’m sure it’ll look great as well do you know what it is called? Would be super popular if they made it for the states
@@MeynMotorGroup I don't know what it's called yet, but I suspect it won't be too long before Kia announce it.
Only problem here in the States is dealers have lost their minds and are charging crazy markups. Their products have gotten really good tho looking forward to seeing what it is
The Tau v8 is a great engine
Pretty vanilla design though. Imo, Kia never should have discontinued the Stinger, that car actually made them look like a competent company.
I wish they put more effort into the Stinger but to the eyes of the public yea Stinger was a good look for the company
For some reason my K900 has the normal shifter in it. I don’t have the BMW-styled shifter.. Would you happen to know if this was an option of some sort? I feel like something happened and it was swapped
The "BMW" style shifter was part of the Luxury and VIP trim. The premium trim came came with the regular styled shifter
A regular shifter is much better than those electronic BMW shifters !
@@crabby125 thank you for the info on that. I wish I had seen this sooner😂
Kevin can you do q50s hybrid review?
I don’t think Infiniti has them in their press fleets anymore
Will this car be a collector’s item?
Theres one at my local carmax with 20k miles for 25k.. tempted to go just to look at it lol
Hey do you remember what model year?
@@MeynMotorGroup 2015
I’ve never even heard of this car . I will say it’s a very nice looking car , but, like you said that damn Kia badge, It won’t be stealing any customers away from Lexus. FYI, I wouldn’t drive a BMW if it was FREE !
That’s too bad my friend
You wouldn't drive a BMW if it was free ? You are definitely not a Real Car Guy ! You're one of those Punks who only goes by Reliability stories from other people !
BMW makes some of the Best Driver's cars in the world ! 🤡 🤡 🤡
great car but good luck getting insurance, Progressive and State Farm have said they're no longer going to write new insurance policies for Hyundai and Kia models models from 2015-19 since they are twice as likely to be stolen as similar models from that time period, as they weren't built with important theft prevention technology. Probably start seeing massive discounts on those cars.
This is so funny to me 😅because I’m literally in the market for a2015 Hyundai Genesis sedan and I’m currently with StateFarm ins and have a 2011 Hyundai Genesis sedan
Great point thank you for sharing this I had no idea!
I got one and I only see another one every third month
The laugh 💀
"Glossing over THAT... " [engine fires]
"Their products are pretty good."
😂
@@MeynMotorGroup keepin' it real. Gotta respek it
Completely forgot this thing existed, and it has a v8? Some obscure cars are worth digging up, I guess.
Haha yea my friend
@@MeynMotorGroup if I’m being totally honest though, I’d like it 5 times more if it wasn’t so damn ugly lol
I’m selling a 2025 k900 V8 premium in perfect condition with a Nader 70k miles so lemme know
Ups, Kevin what happen to that what i´m wrote?
You never see these on the East coast because they're not AWD
Yea this generation never came with it had to get the 2019-2020 generation with TT V6

Yo bro
Hey bro would love to know if you would rock this big body Kia 😅😂

I have owned both VW phaeton and now I own the kia k900 which is 8 years old now but both were purchased new and lovingly cared for. I had to let go of the phaeton because its engine started developing leaks the electronics especially the navigation pretty much stooped working and needed constant repairs which always cost me a couple of grand each time.. I loved the phaeton for its sheer stealth opulence and superior performance. However, the k900 is a different experience. It is soft and silky and has all of the phaeton opulence (but not performance). However, the big change is the reliability. So far one seat sensor and one of the self-adjusting headlights blew. Other than that the car is eight years old and rides like a new car. Both cars have an eight-cylinder engine but the Kia one is more powerful but less torque. The phaeton is awd which is a must where i live. You can see both cars here K900 is in the garage photos.app.goo.gl/LaTWsdKk533RQwhL8
