I ended up buying a Certified Pre-Owned Lexus GS 350 with 8k miles instead. But kudos to Kia for this amazing vehicle. I even like the 1st generation
KIA doesn't expect to sell many K900's in North America. Its target market is Korea and the huge opportunities in other Asian countries, especially in China. In the US the K900 is meant mainly to be a model that draws customers to showrooms where they can see Optimas, Cadenzas, Stingers, and Tellurides. And while the image of KIA as a budget brand has been declining for the last decade, the K900 is meant to bury that image once and for all. It has been extremely successful in Korea since its introduction (where it's called the K9 and jokes about it being a "canine" aren't likely to be prevalent.) Chauffeur driven vehicles with large, well appointed rear seats are much more popular in Asia than in North America and in the first five months after its introduction in Korea sales of large sedans from Mercedes Benz and BMW dropped by over a third. All in all, the K900, much like the Stinger, is a halo model that suggests what KIA can accomplish.
This is a much more substantial car than the 5 Series/E Class. In fact, this car is bigger than the swb 7 Series. It's really a gorgeous car. I don't know if you can buy a more luxurious car for 65K.

Happy that I was wrong and I see both Kia and Hyundai stepping up their game. Only thing I ask is that both Kia and Hyundai increase their dealership experience as service is everything to me.
The Korean brands have done an outstanding job in the last several years with their luxury cars! I wouldn't pass on one because of its country of origin. And with that warranty...a winner.
That gauge cluster is awesome. The blind spot cameras with turn signals is genius! I saw K900s all over while in Seoul,no doubt these will sell very well....just maybe not in the US
Many people thinks Genesis and this Kia K900 will depreciate hard but they don't. Germans and Japanese depreciate just as much or lot more. You can check.
This is beautiful! I'll wait a couple years to pick up a low mileage one in the $30k range lol if it depreciates anything like the first gen this will be a steal in the used market.
KIA's reputation for low resale is old news and rapidly changing. I traded a 2012 KIA Sorento for the 2018 model last year. The dealer gave me within $800 of the KBB estimate of a Toyota Highlander with comparable trim, mileage, etc. Considering I had paid $6000 less for the 2012 model than the best offer I received from a Toyota dealer for the Highlander, I made out like a bandit.
Everybody and their granny has a S class or a 7Series but when they get tired of $500.00 batteries and $300.00 oil changes they smarten up and at least look at this car.

The upgrades they made for this have truly made it a great looking vehicle. The front end on the old one looked bad. This new one all around looks like a true luxury car, one that it is not. I just found a 2019 with 15k miles listed for $40,000. So a few more years on the used market and they'll be a steal of a price. For $40k its still a steal, but would still be a hefty payment. I would never choose a German luxury vehicle over something like this. Just not worth it for value.
They improved from the 1st gen and it shows across the board, the front end looks Klassy and I really like the tailights as well. The finish on those wheels is oh so nice, no cliche' gloss black wheels either, THANK GOD. KIA, Hyundai and Genesis aren't going anywhere but UP, get used to it. It will be interesting to see the 2020 Cadenza. I looked at a 2019 version last year but even as a KIA fan I was less than impressed compared to the Honda Accord 2.0L touring model.

I like that is not just another Mercedes, BMW, Lexus, etc. Something about having a bit less common vehicle. Matt...on your price comparisons, as you point out the Kia warranty is much better. Agree G 80 looks a little more muscular and K900 has a more mature look to it........just realized model discontinued, there are 3 new ones left from 2020 at dealers in my state....doubt I will go for it.

honestly they should make a coupe version. something like a q60 but with a way better interior and a v8, or something in the shape of a cheap mini s class coupe. also they need to take off that chrome/metal on the door for me shit looks cheapish. sick car though
Is Hyundai/Genesis not worried about over saturating the market with similar large cars that look the same?? It seems they are competing with themselves!!
It's not unusual for a manufacturer to offer a pair of vehicles that are similar at the top of their mainstream brand and the base level of their premium brand. The Toyota Avalon and base Lexus models are similar to the Hyundai/Genesis approach. Likewise with Ford and Lincoln brands, Chevy, Buick, and Cadillac models, etc.
This car is sick as fukk. The front end looks amazing, the interior is awesome and the turn signal cameras are next level tech(I know there are a couple of companys that did it before KIA, but KIA/Hyundai did it a lot better than them)
BMW interior more than Mercedes. Audi steering wheel. Vw profile. They’re really nice though and nicer than Germans in many ways since luxury cars are full of plastic
BASITH PH bmw is a low class pseudo luxury car. Way too many 3 series, or even less now. I saw an x1 sitting ar a light beside a mazda 3. They looked comparable in size and price.
Interesting that Kia still sells this after they cloned this model and now sell it as a Genesis G90. They also took the Hyundai '15/'16 Genesis Sedan and cloned that to become the G80. Hyundai stopped selling the Genesis sedan when they launched the brand but I guess Kia did not stop selling the K900. Very weird strategy going on with these brands!

@@redrock861 Like many items you buy, cars include an intangible emotional component. So when you say the "same shit", it's really not the same shit to many Mercedes, BMW or Lexus buyers, because they want the intangible component of owning a luxury auto marque with a long and storied history, and whilst that feeling is intangible, it is absolutely quantifiable from a financial perspective because people are willing to pay for it. To these people, the badge is equally if not more important than the metal parts and engine that physically make up the car itself. Case in point, is a non-branded handbag made with the exact same materials, in the exact same way and comprising the exact same design as a Chanel handbag, the "same shit" as a genuine Chanel handbag? Physically yes, emotionally no. And since people are emotional beings, that's really what matters in the end.

Car is on my short list; I currently drive a luxury car that is 17 years old which I might miss, however this car is very nice.
Video idea! if you’d think it’d get some views, at the end of every month or every few months do like a best 3 or so vehicles from each class that you reviewed for the month, I would definitely be interested idk about anyone else
If there was a hand talking competition, I would want Matt to enter it and see how he does.
honestly they should make a coupe version. something like a q60 but with a way better interior and a v8, or something in the shape of a cheap mini s class coupe. also they need to take off that chrome/metal on the door for me shit looks cheapish. sick car though
Jesus wtf why is this car so badass, great job Kia and great review!
I love this K900 but just imagine a E43-like variant of this vehicle for like 70K... That would be amazing!
How would you compare it to a LS 460?
This is a very nice Kia no joke
Kia needs a lux brand called Notkia.
and start selling phones under the same name XD
Like Genesis for Hyundai
NoKia
Kia pro, kia premium
I don't care about badges. These sell for 54 to 58 thousand. It's worth it.
how many speakers total watts? thanks
900w
17 speakers, 900 watts.
Matt, k900 or Volvo S90
Is Hyundai/Genesis not worried about over saturating the market with similar large cars that look the same?? It seems they are competing with themselves!!
It's not unusual for a manufacturer to offer a pair of vehicles that are similar at the top of their mainstream brand and the base level of their premium brand. The Toyota Avalon and base Lexus models are similar to the Hyundai/Genesis approach. Likewise with Ford and Lincoln brands, Chevy, Buick, and Cadillac models, etc.
This car is sick as fukk. The front end looks amazing, the interior is awesome and the turn signal cameras are next level tech(I know there are a couple of companys that did it before KIA, but KIA/Hyundai did it a lot better than them)
Is that a casio clock?
I wonder what this is worth in about 4 years.. 20k?
2015 models are going for around that. 4 year old 5 Series and E-Class go for about 20k too.
Great review!
Milky is an interesting descriptive word ;)
BMW interior more than Mercedes. Audi steering wheel. Vw profile. They’re really nice though and nicer than Germans in many ways since luxury cars are full of plastic
The 6 dislikes are from people who own BMW 6 series, that just so happen to be in the repair shop. Lol jk great video Matt.
8:40 Heavy Metal.
The canine hundred! 🐕
Interior looks better than the 7 series
When you want a luxury car that’s not a BMW
BASITH PH bmw is a low class pseudo luxury car. Way too many 3 series, or even less now. I saw an x1 sitting ar a light beside a mazda 3. They looked comparable in size and price.
Much better than BMW or merc or any German brand or even Camry and Accord. $60k!? That's d price of a Camry or a base level bmw here in india!!!
Get a second hand one after two years for $30g.
A bargain at 65K, no. But at half-price after a year of depreciation, yep. I'll be waiting until then.
Your going to be waiting a really long time. Its 3 years later and still not half off for a fully optioned used model.
Canine Hundred?

You need a new camera my dude, footage looks kinda dated for 2019 no offense
I agree, hoping to upgrade cameras later this summer.
Kia K900 has a BMW-style cockpit
The Hyundai Equus is an even better bargain
Considering that Hyundai ceased production of the Equus three years ago that's not surprising.
I prefer the G90 over the K900.
17:42 😎
nice
Interesting that Kia still sells this after they cloned this model and now sell it as a Genesis G90. They also took the Hyundai '15/'16 Genesis Sedan and cloned that to become the G80. Hyundai stopped selling the Genesis sedan when they launched the brand but I guess Kia did not stop selling the K900. Very weird strategy going on with these brands!
Kia needs a complete rebrand
Yeah because asking what they are for this car the big K I A reminder can give someone buyers remorse.
Riiigght....All those customers on waiting lists for Tellurides and the strong sales of Stingers don't count, eh? You really need to spend more time out from under your rock.
@@stephenhendricks103 go ahead and buy one. Nobody stopping you, is that correct? You are defending the brand so you must love them. You'll see over time.
Pulling up next to a top-of-the-line Lexus, Mercedes, BMW or Audi and feeling your inferiority complex blowing out 😂😂
RedPanda or superiority cuz you didn't have to spend 100 k to get the same shit. This is a car for real people who care about impressing themselves, not for phony people who are trying to impress those around them. There was a guy a few weeks ago now that was totally impressed with my car...until he saw the badge(KIA). Then he turned his nose up and got into his Mercedes. Haha, I love when shit like that happens. I started up my car, opened the pano roof, hit the rear sunshade switch, turned on the ventilated seats and fuckin laughed at that guy.
Dummies like to be financially raped.
Hell no. Maybe a year or 2 old..
If it wasn't for the horrible dual clutch trans in my Kia Soul, I'd be tempted (if i could afford it). But the trans in that Soul put such a sour taste in my mouth, I don't think I'll ever consider a Kia/Hyundai again. But that's just me. As always, great review Matt.
65K? LOL. No thanks....
I can get a 2018 Lexus LS with a bit of mileage for 65k. Not sure who in the right mind for buy a Korean car for that kind of money. Also, what will be the resale value and reliability of this car with 80-100km miles? $20,000 car 3-4 years from now? No thanks.
A facsimile of a E63s 😳
I love it
Needs a muffler delete
I have a 2015 Genesis 3.8 Ultimate. I would purchase a pre-owned Mercedes S Class over this or a G90.
One thing about kia is their resale value is atrocious
tommieboi707 same with any other luxury brand
@@alexmorangelli3319 kia is not luxury.
Kia soul has best resale value in its class.
@Nai `Son you really trying to compare kia to lexus and acura? If so then thats a fail right there already.
