My cello was made in Germany at the turn of the century. I have small hands and have always had problems with the pegs. After I've tuned and pushed the pegs in as hard as possible, one or two of the strings often unravel. Very frustrating. I've tried many types of string- gut, steel, with the same result. I've played this cello for many years. Maybe it's time to buy a second cello.
I took a used instrument that was impossible to keep in tune in to get set up and found out about the chalk. It went from slipping to being just great! Hopefully you can get service you need as well.
Thank you so much really jargon free and to the point. Very refreshing thanks again.
Very informative, thank you!
