- We’re back at the 2016 Tri-Cities Huckfest and SupaTim Hanstine takes up one of several Legacy Aviation 84" Turbo Bushmasters that were at the event.
This awesome plane is proving to be a pleasant diversion from the big 3D gassers and as you will see, it can be flown from mild to wild and is a great STOL aircraft.
I hope you enjoy Tim’s flight!
Here are the specs for the plane:
Wingspan: 84 inches
Length: 64 inches
Wing Area: 800 sq. in.
Weight: 7.5 - 8.5 lbs.
Electric Power System
Electric Motor : Torque 4016T/500 MKII with 6S 3300-5000mAh, 16x7 prop
The battery used on this flight was a Pulse 6s 3700 60c lipo
Electronic Speed Control :Airboss 80
Note: Due to the location of the ESC in relation to the battery, a battery lead extension of 8-10" is required.
Note: A separate Rx battery or independent Battery Eliminating Circuit (BEC) must be used. The BEC on board the Airboss 80 is not sufficient to power six servos. We recommend the Castle Creations BEC (10 amp).

Happy to see a huge, scale electric that can do all the tricks! Thanks Bob 👍🏼😎
Great filming and flying! Fun to watch - thanks for posting!
Many thanks for the kind comments!
Thanks for watching and happy flying!

Supasweet by Supatim! He was definitely feeling and flying alright... I can fly with a little help from my friends! You know me a electric planes and performing along side of the gassers... awesome! Excellent camerawork, editing and video as always Commender Bob, A1 eh! BIG thumbs up! Cheers!
LMAO, thanks for your ongoing support and awesomeness Freddy! Don't think I don't know how hard it is (no pun intended) for you to put your "special purpose" aside for a moment to watch and comment on a video that is legal in all 50 States. I'm proud of you for getting the musical reference and I hope that you're feeling alright, uh-huh. By the way, this was the Huey Lewis version! Thanks a heap for watching and your killer comments. Please accept my best wishes for surviving your election. We already have a dickhead in our
highest office and here's hoping you fair better than we do!
Cheers, CB
LOL!!! Like others have said... with 350 million people in the country, and this is the best we can do!!! I'm no Trump fan (was a Ted Cruze guy) but you would think that the other party would nominate someone who at least supports their own country and it's best interests! Sorry to get political but seriously lol! How about you Bob, either apply for a U.S. citizenship or maybe run as the first illegal immigrant for U.S. president? Vote Bob for president, that's it, I'm writing you in on the ballet! Cheers Commander Bob... sorry "Commander and Chief" Bob!
LMAO. Sure, I'll take the job as long as the Secret Service don't mind hand launching a few planes for me now and again. Hey, I just thought of something! If I was POTUS, I could fire almost everyone in the FAA and put in some "drone" laws that made sense. And then I would fix domestic terrorism and most immigration issues by making it mandatory to eat bacon and pledge allegiance to the flag every morning. Yes, I'd say I have a good chance in the election. Let's do it!
Thats awesome, I'm on board, lets see, raise hundreds of million of dollars to campaign... check, platform planks, on the economy... establish an IRS IRS and take all the revenue... check, immigration policy... build a wall keeping everyone in and move to Mexican resorts... check, national defense... nuke Russia, NORKS, Chinese, mideast (not Israel) make into parking lot... check! Is that what you were thinking?
More or less. We can improvise further on week two. I like the idea of the wall and as a Canadian (for now at least), we'll build a wall to protect Canada as well as Mexico from 'muricans and pay for it by using all the money on the Clinton Foundation that was supposed to be spent in Haiti.
Nice model and flying very well Tim 3D monouvers! Nice job as always on video Bob!
:-) Bye
Awesome, thank you Davide!
Ciao!
Wow!! Tim flys that Bushmaster like a 3-D plane..
He sure does Pat! The Bushmaster was designed with 3D in mind (as well as scale of course) and it sure shows when Tim flies it! Thanks very much for watching buddy!
cool looking plane and some nice flying again.
Thanks Luke, your comments are much appreciated!
Cheers!
Great flying, I like this plane
Great comments! I like this plane too ( a lot ). It seems to do everything well without any bad tendencies. Thanks for watching!!!
Love this plane! Good vid Bob. :)
I like this plane a lot too! Thanks a heap for the kind comments!
Cheers!
Awesome video, Bob! Love that sound :) Big like!
Thanks Mylos!
Wonderful video;)
Thank you very much!
Incredible to see a plane like that doing such nice 3D flying, mustn't be as easy to do as it would be with a purpose built 3D plane. The pilot must be a Supa genius (0:
Tim flies It well, doesn't he Jax? Actually the plane is a sneaky design and although it looks like a high wing scale plane, it was designed very much with 3D in mind. It has much larger than normal control surfaces that allow it to fly the way it does. Many thanks for watching my friend!
*****
I see quite a few new high wing planes coming out now are 3D capable
:-)
Fantastic plane and awesome flying as usual from SupaTim!
I'd love to put one of these on floats but shipping a kit this size to Brazil is unbelievably expensive.
It is awesome on floats! It's too bad that high shipping costs can take the fun out of a hobby. Thanks for watching and happy flying!
Totally AWESOME!
awesome!
Thank you very much for watching!
Nice flying. Could this plane accommodate a 35cc gas engine?
Thank you for the kind comment! This plane is built light and is designed around an electric motor. Here's a link to the product: extremeflightrc.com/84-Turbo-Bushmaster--Yellow-Black-Scheme_p_2295.html
Thanks for watching!
Cheers, Bob
Fantastic plane, great pilot and even better pix!!
Many thanks for the kind comments Dick!
Happy flying my friend!
Outstanding video! Are those 5" or 6" wheels?
Thank you for the kind comment. The wheels are 6" Kavans which are super light (especially as compared to Du-Bros) and add virtually no weight to take away from performance or flight time. They are available from Sig Mfg.
I hope that helps. Cheers, Bob
Awesome flight, beautiful field what field was that?
Thanks for the great comments!
This flight was at Higgins Field in Richland, Washington.

Happy flying to you!
Nice
Thanks!
what battery was used on this particular flight?
Tim tells me he used a Pulse 6s 3700 60c lipo. He also said that he still uses this battery today and it's got just as much go juice as it did when this was filmed back in 2016!
TripleThreatRC thank you! This helps a lot! I am running a 5000mah on my TBM and I think it’s just too heavy for this kind of maneuvers! Gonna try his bats out. Thanks!
Best of luck, happy flying to you!
Es electrico muy bien
Many thanks for your kind comments!
Cheers, Bob
What is the c.g. of the Turbo bushmaster???? ,there is no data in the manuel.
Hi Paul. Actually, if you look on page 61 you will see a recommendation to start experimenting with the CG by balancing the plane on the wing tube and then adjusting it to your preference for future flights. If you look on page 59, you will see where Tim places his 3300mAh pack. His preferred CG is slightly aft of the wing tube because he likes a slower plane and to make messing around with STOL maneuvers easier. The plane in the manual is actually Tim's plane. Have fun with your Bushmaster, it is an awesome plane!
Cheers, Bob
Thank you very much,
My pleasure, thank you for watching the video!
Cheers, Bob
