Looks fantastic Tom!!! What amazed me is when you picked it up at the beginning. It's very light! As big as it is I thought it would have some heft but you one handed it.
Love your work, you have inspired me to hit the simulator now before I head to the farm and take about 8 of my planes down. I might even get the 1:1 Jabiru out of the hanger and do some air work around Orange on the way to the farm.
epic flight, one more mix to try for shitz n gigglez flaps down, elevator down & spoilers up elevator up, gives stupidly slow ass inverted flight and insanely fast backflips.
Hoi Tom, die van mij komt dinsdag aan uit Zweden. van europe.rc. Verheug me op de bouw ervan en zeer benieuwd hoe hij vliegt. Ben niet echt een 3d vlieger maar meer schaal. Grz, Ronald.

Oh man. That is amazing. You need an onboard camera ;)
Kotten Jönsson I know, after posting this I saw a really good description in one of the first pages in the TBM topic at rcgroups! I’d highly recommend you look that up, it will help you with the entire setup!
Thanks man! It has been a funny exxperience so far. after my initial enthousiasm I was strugling to understand the flight characteristics, it's just so f-ing light. Recently I have stopped fighting it and accepted the way it flies more, and now the flying has a really nice flow to it! Thanks for the add, more new HK new releases and other vids coming up!
Oh just what ever you feel comfortable with at the time would be great, I'm just a begginer learning on my own as I go, I don't even have a Sim because I don't have a decent computer to use it on, thanks
Hi Tom, Did you in between create a video with the Transmitter settings? Would be very interesting for me, as I will use a Futaba FX22 for the plane which has the same Software... Thx, Jan
Hey Tom, found out about your channel through the RC Coffee Chat with Matt and subscribed right away! She's a beauty! I was amazed at how short of a "runway" she needs to take off... Also, it must be hard to get yourself ready to loose such an amazing model, as you explained in your chat with Matt. How long did it sit on the shelf?? Hahaha Prachtig vliegtuig & ontzettend goed gevlogen!!
Hi Alexis, To be honest there is no mental barrier for me with PNP and ARF models, if you crash you can just get another one in the sky within a week. It's the scratchbuilds that aren't easily replaceable that require courage to maiden and fly!
Tom De Weerdt Well, you are in a different league, so i can understand that you feel that way with PNP! I am still a beginner and i get attached to my RCs way too much... Don't get me wrong, i fly the hell out of them, but when they crash, and they often do, my heart sinks and i rush home with all the pieces and watch the footage to understand my mistakes. I have got the basic flying down now, and i am attempting 3d; sometimes specific figures, other times, like you i just put the sticks in awkward positions just to see how the aircraft reacts... On that note, I too would really enjoy some tutorials on 3d from an experienced pilot like yourself (as somebody else suggested in another comment). My preference would be for outdoors, ideally with 2 viewing angles; one for the aircraft and one on your chest pointing at the tx to see realtime your inputs and the resulting effect on the aircraft.
Don't get me wrong, crashing will suck with any plane, it's just that in my mind the period of grief is directly related to the build time I've had to put in. As for the tutorials I'm considdering doing an in- and outdoor mix. On the SIM i can set the 'puter to display my inputs in any mode I want.. I actually fly mode 4 with throttle reversed, almost nobody seems to agree with me that this is in fact the only correct way to fly :)
Sharad Mathur I use 3300’s, 5 min flights, you can easily go to 5000. The battery is smack on the CG so that is no issue. If you look at my other video with the TBM you can see that on 3300 it already doesn’t have a very quick pull out of a hover, so if you want to do a lot of 3D the 3300 will propably be the better choice. Hope that helps!
Very brave to maiden a plane in such windy conditions. Well done, the TBM looks like a winner.
Thanks! I figured it was the perfect weather for a slow plane with giant flaps :s

Lauren Robison oh yes, it's only about 8 pounds...
Nice flying Tom, I look forward to the next videos.
Thanks!

AustNRail thanks!
Sim does help, everyone loses some in the learning process though...
The TBM is now flying with it’s second fuselage lol...
Big pilot. Awesome...
Peter Lukáč thanks!

And more insanity I would imagine.
Might try that by the time I need the set-up for a next plane :)

I do !!!
Great video :) But…..I kinda miss the Futaba Setup video ;)

Cool looking forward to it and the last weekend of this month of course hahaha
Excellent Tom she looks amazing,I wish I had your skill, how about some 3d lessons
That's actually a fun idea!
Might do something like that in the summer.
Would you rather want to see outside flying, Sim or a combination?
Oh just what ever you feel comfortable with at the time would be great, I'm just a begginer learning on my own as I go, I don't even have a Sim because I don't have a decent computer to use it on, thanks
Tom De Weerdt both please! I'm an expert at inverted unscheduled landings but the bit between rake off and #landing? well, I suck.
LOL Don't you just hate it when you run out of altitude, airspeed and ideas all at the same time?

Can you share the 18mz setup file ? thanks !
Hi Amit, I’ll have to look for a card to export it, I’ll let you know!
"Audiojungle" ;)
What size is your 6s battery?

ALWAYS LIKE YOUR VIDEOS....THIS ONE...music sucks...!!!...aaaahhhh SECOND HALF WAS MUCH BETTER....NOT MUCH FOR THAT "HEAD-BANGING" STUFF...
Oh haha, sorry 'bout that! Always looking out for copyright stuff to use...
Thanks for the feedback!
