I totally agree bro that ep is absolutely great! Love it, especially forever marked and feel the same, these 2 are one of my fav currents songs too! But imo their best album/Ep/record whatever overall, is "The Way it Ends", bloody hell that's a good f*cking album! The whole thing just blew me away the first time I listened to it, til this day I still love it and come back to that album
Favorite Currents song would probably be Forget Me. Another Life is a close second though. Those songs just hit me on such a personal level.

Really love this song! The great heaviness and vocals of 'The place I feel safest' and 'I let the devil in' combined with the full, rich ambiance we got with 'The way it ends'. I can't wait to hear a full album in this style! My favorite Currents song has to be Forget Me. Hbu Metalbirb? Got a favorite?
Into Despair!
The latest Currents songs have some of the best mixing I've heard in a long time. Everything is loud as fuck and full of gravity, but also quite clear and everything is audible. It's beautiful execution. Hope some others take notes.

Love this track, every single track that is just insanely heavy by Currents is an instant banger for me 100%, we absolutely need a deathcore project for Brian, he’s such a talented vocalist and human being. This is an unpopular opinion but Poverty of Self is my favorite currents track. The first breakdown in that track is one of my favorite breakdowns of all time actually.

Ryan Leitru is also killing with the production. I think The Death We Seek might be my favorite song of theirs to date
This song kind of reminds me of when Volumes released their song "holywater." It took me a few listens to really enjoy 'holywater' so I might be doing the same for 'Vengeance.'
I think the lyrics are a huge selling point for the song personally. Favorite Currents song is Apnea or Split but it’s really hard to choose

I personally enjoy the lack of clean vocals in this song. Sometimes their clean choruses can be a bit generic for my liking.
I like the song but man, I feel like the songwriting has taken a small step back.
This song rips. And all you haters need to shove it. You try writing for two bands consistently for multiple years. Chris said he wanted currents to get softer, but hey, I guess he changed his mind. My disguise is probably my favorite currents track. Can't wait to hear more

I fucking love currents but I hate the drum mix. The cymbals. Especially the hi hat sound like a tambourine.
This song is mucho boring. So monotone
I agree, i like the previous single more, but even that didn't hit me nearly as much as any song off of The Way It Ends. I feel like it lacks the super catchy choruses, ambience and bouncy and techy lead work.
Currents always have a couple mindless heavy af songs on their records, on The Way It Ends it was Poverty of Self. Here is the new one from the new record

I personally have zero issues for this song because my thing is, they make something like they usually do then you have ppl saying it’s boring they are not switching it up.
@@trampledunderfootvid Yeah but poverty of self wasn't JUST heavy, it had some really good and bouncy grooves and a way more dynamic structure.
This new one is a lot more repetitive and follows the same tempo and groove pretty much the whole song.
I find that metalcore bands that make these types of songs nowadays are such a miss. If I want to listen to a heavy song, I‘ll listen to a death core band. My favorite Currents song is forever marked.
As a single it could feel out of place but I’m sure it will make sense in their next album. Just like in “The Way it Ends”, poverty of self was that heavy quick thrasher that felt off as a single but in the structure of the album, it was perfect.
Nah it feels so good to hear something without the forced cleans in it, very enjoyable
@@lars9764 yea same here. I’m not really sure why all these djentcore bands force in cleans where they’re not needed. It’s not like metalcore always had those super clean choruses. Old Converge and Norma Jean were just unrelenting heaviness. It also just seems lazy since some of these bands don’t seem to know how to write something catchy without souring clean vocals.
And I don’t hate cleans. A lot of the choruses just seem like bands following a formula even when it doesn’t fit the song
@@phaaaze9984 Yea same, i love well used cleans like in The Plot in You or also Currents but a lot of bands nowadays do clean choruses just for the sake of having a clean chorus and not because it suits the song well imo
Literally is like The Place I Feel Safest but with a sprinkle of The Way It Ends! God those low vocals from Brian are outstanding!! 10/10 song! Might be my favorite heavy song of the year.
My favorite Currents song is a toss up between Into Despair and Forever Marked. This song was sick, but idk if anything will ever top the I Let the Devil In EP for me personally. Good shit man!
Why can't people just enjoy a good heavy song? Like God damn not every single song has to be super technical.
