I switched to a Fatboy in 22 and haven't regretted a single moment of it. It is THE Harley ride I expected when I got into riding Harleys. Power. Performance and Presence. A few customizations (new exhaust, saddleman seat, etc) and I can't imagine riding any other Harley for my main ride.

I’ve got a 22 fatboy and consider myself a novice rider.. I was worried about all the videos of people saying how hard they are to corner etc… I’ve never had any issues, beautiful bike to ride and handles very well

I'm glad to hear that the Fat Boy was maneuverable at slow speeds. I could also see that the bike looks planted on the roads which is a plus in windy conditions! I'll need to test one at the dealership. It wasn't under my radar until I saw your video.

Ive owned stock harleys, big tire choppers etc. My 2023 fatboy is no doubt my favorite harley i have owned. Now in my 60s it just takes some skill to put it through the twistys not for the novice unless your not afraid to get up on the edge of that 240 and stay there.

I own a Fatboy with solid wheels. The notion that a cross wind will push you across the road is erroneous. Those slots in the new FatBoy does absolutely nothing. Consider the fact that the wheels are turning hundreds or thousands of revolutions, depending on the speed. Air or wind will NOT pass through those slots. Matt Laidlaw asked this specific question to HD engineers in a video a few years ago. The engineers agreed, this was definitely a misconception.

@@theinfinitryda That's BS and scientifically impossible. I've had my 2004 FLSTFI with solid wheels, since it was new. Mine isa 2012 in Denim Black. I upgraded the exhaust to V&H 2 in 1 Pro Pipe. I still don't want to let it go. I test drove the 2024 today and was disappointed. I felt like I was riding a Honda. The new bike has more take off and torque on the low end but I was disappointed. The new design is missing that mean look and sound that made the bike a Fatboy.

@@theinfinitryda The weight of a bike does more than anything to minimize the effect of wind gusts pushing the tires sideways.
I've ridden bikes having everything from old-fashioned spiked rims to a five point "star" mag to solid rims in all types of weather and at speeds ranging from creeping to 180+ mph.
At high speed every rim behaves like a solid rim when hit by wind gusts.
The lighter the combined weight of bike and rider, the more effect wind has on instability. Of course, the closer a rider's weight comes to the weight of the bike, the less stable bike becomes as the center of gravity moves upward.

So if you commenters could choose a new fat boy or a new Triumph Rocket which way would you go? I’ve been shopping about two weeks and I want both of them hahaha of course I can’t do that! One bike will stretch my pocketbook. But pricing both is very similar where I live. Triumph is much more negotiable in price than my Harley dealers. Finance for 23 Rocket? 3.9% for 60 months…Best rate for Fat Boy 7.0% for 72 months both based on my 815 score. Finally mpg Rocket roughly 35. Fat Boy roughly 46. Many many other differences..the Triumph has all the bells and whistles for instrumentation but Harley is pretty stripped. Finally, this time I mean it, there’s something about owning your first Harley. Iconic, America proud all that stuff even with their issues. So what’s the choice folks? Help me buy my next bike! They thought they wanted a Harley etc. but in every case years later they sell them. 100 plus ft pounds of torque only helps them leave a stop light, by the other side of the intersection I am the only bike and wondering why they had to sit there and rev bomb. It's actually embarrassing when I don't even rev and embarrass them by the other side of the intersection. I'm tired of listening to a guy revving for attention. I just sit there, wait for the light to change and lay the embarrassment out. C'mon dude, Get a bike that can move. Remember that a Harley is the bike that can turn gas into noise without the side affect of horsepower.....I will embarrass you everyday. With or without your girl on the back.

Seriously? People still buy into the notion of getting pushed around by the wind with solid wheels. What a joke. Logically, think about the surface area on the wheels compared to the entire bike and yourself. Also, even a spoked wheel is spinning at such a high rpm that it is basically a solid surface in motion.. give me a break yall can be that stupid.
BTW, I own a 2018 FatBoy and have ridden thousands of miles and experienced very high cross winds. Shocker!! I was not blown off the road. On ANY bike, you will feel a crosswind, regardless of your wheels. I would even say that the FatBoy is more stable in wind due to the lower center of gravity compared to lighter sports bikes I have owned.

Yrs after the total redesign, this completely different Fatboy is still compared to the actual Iconic model Arnold rode , don’t vote well for it. For one thing, gone is the old school timeless styling. It reminds me more ironically of the VRod that got killed off one model yr before this total redesign appeared. In my opinion carrying over the Fatboy name was a huge marketing mistake. Like the VRod, the Fatboy should have been retired as well because it’s completely different, yea it’s got solid wheels but it ends there. HD should have given this bike its own identity so it would not have to compete with a legend and stand on its own merits. That’s just my opinion and I think others will agree. Yrs ago when I saw my first Fatboy I was thunderstruck. This bike? Nope.

I've ridden a HD Fatboy for over a decade. I test drove a stock 2024 version and was disappointed. The bike feels cheap and the elements that made it a muscle bike are gone. It has more torgue in the low gears but it sounded like a sewing machine. I thought I was riding a Honda. I wished they would go back to the old design.

Why record a video while using the helmet? Pathetic. If you're not riding, why keep the helmet and ruin the sound?
