I think the point of Telltale is that the story remains the same but it all depends on how you decide to tell it. For example: If you help Lukas, Axel will have a hard time telling Gabriel about what Ivor is doing, yet Ivor still unleashes the Wither skull, or else we don't have a plot. So of course the story is going to stay the same. It's whether or not you trust the people you're with as their feelings towards you change.
TL;DR : if you don't want be able to hear anymore say "nether" in a 999999999999999999999999999⁹⁹⁹⁹⁹ light year radius of papyrus.
