@Improvised Agreed!! They’d make a ton of money, MORE people would go see shows live, it’d make iconic shows accessible to those who can’t afford a Broadway/Tour ticket, and would provide income to the cast, crew, etc as theaters adapt to pandemic/etc conditions (Covid’s not going anywhere anytime soon). Even having multiple proshots for full cast changes and the like would be amazing. Added bonus, it would cut down on unwanted filming in theaters (improving the experience for audience and performers alike)
@Improvised totally agreed and would be great for the ppl out of the US . Just like big ballet companies do it I have tons of presentations I bought from Royal Opera House . They would increase their profits considerably
As much as I want him to continue to play Christian, this clip really makes me want to see him as the Phantom, because he could definitely pull out both the vocal stops and emotional stops.
for me the Phantom works best, as does Billy Bigelow in Carousel, as a baritone or a tenor with a dark quality (like Brent Barrett for example, who played the Phantom). Aaron’s voice is a bit too light in quality. I’ve always seen him more as Raoul vocally. i also think Aaron’s too young to play the Phantom, I think the actor who plays the Phantom should be at least in their late 40s.
@@kvc65 so basically it’s whenever a performer hits a note higher than what the official score calls for. you’ll hear a lot of them in shows that have a lot of riffs in particular, but lots of performers do it just because they can haha

So, fun fact, my drama teacher showed us this video in class as an example of when an actor puts a not higher than it is written to be (I don't remember what he called it) and he went through the comments a little bit and when he saw this comment he immediately scrolled away. Here is exactly what he said: "When people see actors do things like this, you people say things like "otherworldly", "losing their minds", "breathtaking", and something about ovaries. ANYWAY-".
Just in case you didn't know, you can loop videos on UA-cam (in the settings top right of the video). Aaron Tveit wouldn't want you to wear your finger out
The way his voice carries and then just abruptly stops at the highest note…It’s SO FREAKING GOOD. I think this might be the most impressive performance I’ve ever seen Aaron Tviet do and it’s 43 seconds long. Versus like all of Les Miserables or Grease or any other Broadway song
I hope a lot of these theatre companies take a lesson from Hamilton's success going forward. Get a pro-shot of the OG cast and just hold onto it for later release :)
@@BusinessDog2000 Pretty much every musical does proshots for promotional videos, trailers, little snippets like these, etc. so they do already have proshots but they will have to release them fully on an actual streaming platform. But i would absolutely love to see the whole thing of moulin rouge with Aaron tviet lol
I saw the musical yesterday and I'm certain that I didn't take a single breath through El Tango De Roxanne. It was my favorite sequence in the movie and seeing it live along with Aaron's electrfiying performance was pure magic. I can't stop thinking about it.
Comparing this to his recent turn as Sweeney Todd is fascinating. I loved him as Sweeney, and he really sold it with his acting, but as great as the singing was, you could tell where he struggled to hit certain lows and where certain songs were transposed to suit him as a tenor (Epiphany being the best example. Not a complaint, but hearing it in that higher key was an interesting change, and when he jumped the octave it made my soul float out of my body. I would kill for a studio recording of his performance of Epiphany). However, here, in his element, he's unstoppable. Its insane how much much he can do in less than a minute!!! I drove my family psychotic trying to nail this, now I'll drive them bonkers trying to nail his octave jump in Epiphany.
People, you have no idea how lucky you are to see this masterpiece live. I have no chances to see even the full performance because of living on the other edge of the world. And these 42 seconds are really a treasure to me.
i saw this live and i lost my damn mind, couldn’t breathe and cried my eyes out making my niece ask “ whaf tf is the matter with you ?!” the way it’s acted and sung is PERFECTION
I love the movie and was excited for the musical. I still haven't had a chance to see the musical but holy Aaron Tveit. He is perfect to play Christian. I've been a fan of Aaron's work for years now. He is only getting better

I walked into this musical having no knowledge that Aaron was about to bring the house down. I was floored by the end of this showstopper! I’d go again and again for Roxanne alone. SO glad I caught him as Christian during this return engagement. ❤
I just saw a buddy of mine, Clay Thomson in this clip dancing!!! Ahhhhhh!!!! (He's at 15 seconds). Still jealous he got to share the stage with this magnificent talent.

My greatest desire is for Moulin Rouge to get the Hamilton treatment and have a professionally filmed live recording on Disney+
Every musical should get that treatment
