the pain in Cersis eyes when Sansa talks about being queen and a good wife....she was a bitch but also seemed to really pity Sansas naive and weak nature.
I think she’s more thinking about her time as King Robert’s wife/queen. How she also thought it was what she wanted, what every girl dreams of, until she finally married him and she began despising her life. Sansa probably sounds a lot like she did when she was young and naive. I think she’s also thinking about how Sansa is rather naive and would therefore be easy to control or manipulate, which would play to Cersei’s advantage if she and Jeoffrey were to marry. Whereas someone like Margaery was cunning and posed more of a problem to Cersei. So she’s likely also weighing the threat of crowning a traitor’s daughter with the asset of having a daughter in law who is too clueless to carry out secret agendas.

You can tell Cersei felt bad for Sansa when she said she'll be a good wife and queen. Sansa definitely reminded Cersei of herself when she was younger and so excited to marry Robert, thinking she's going to have the best marriage. And deep down Cersei knows Joffrey is a little shit and Sansa will be disappointed just like how she was with Robert.
Some people can hate sansa.... But in my opinion sansa is clever girl and just know how to survive difficult situation.... And she was right when she told arya you wouldn't have survied what I been through...
Arya lacks the tact and grace which Sansa has, already established in the first episode where she asked "where's the imp" in front of Cersei and Cersei frowned at her, already setting a bad impression during first meeting. Would probably not survive being tormented by Joffrey like Sansa did because I can actually see her retaliating and getting herself killed. Sansa lacks the street smarts and fighting skills Arya has so she wouldn't have survived living on the streets/ being on the run/ being around criminals/ survived the faceless men like Arya did.
I love how Cersei (Lena) expressions can be interpreted in that scene. Some may think she feel "bad" for Sansa because she also used to be "that" girl who wanted to marry her Prince. But it can also be her reaction to the words "I'll be QUEEN just like you" and remembering that old prophecy about how she would lose everything the day a younger queen appeared.
It would've been so poetic if she had hatched a dragon from an egg and used it to kill the ones who harmed her. that would be an amazing callback to the dialogue of this scene.
Sansa was forced into The Game by the adults around her and her isolation from her family. She said she was a slow learner, but I think she learned very quickly, but processing the mentality took her a minute.
Tbh if she had married Joffrey and he lived it'd have been a cruelty of epic proportion. It'd be a repeat of the mad king and his traumatized queen and the realms would have destroyed themselves at a rate nobody could control. There would have been a solid faction to welcome Danny just for a reprieve from that boy's Madness. I wonder if Cersei saw a reflection of herself here for a split second and dissolving that betrothal was done as a blessing in disguise, she knew that boy was a monster.
I really don’t like how the show ended up handling Sansa. How I see her and how I’ve seen George describe her in books and show is Sansa being a regular girl in a very unfortunate situation, she has nothing special to her compared to other characters she’s a regular. The first seasons of the show showed really well how Sansa although smart was still a regular girl who just wanted to survive and did the best she could but even then she was helpless in the world of GoT. Making her a Varys/little finger type of character isn’t such a bad idea, we do see that she’s smart enough to adapt to her surroundings very quickly, but the way it was done made no sense. It was like a little regular innocent girl suffering then BOOM girl boss. They rushed everything with and marrying her off to Ramsay was the beginning to her characters end. Little finger losing the key to the north was so out of character, and Roose Bolton accepting was stupid considering he would not only have the Starks against him but the Lannister’s as well. Naming her queen of the north? Why? What has she done to gain so much respect from these people other than being Ned starks oldest living child. Not to mention she’s a woman, a stark yes, but still just a woman. The show runners forgot that woman in Westeros have few to no rights. They did the same with naming Cersei Queen which was so stupid how could anyone agree to that. The misogynistic beliefs of Westeros are the number 1 reason why the dance of the dragons ever occurred. Plus it has never been said that the North isn’t misogynistic like the rest of Westeros so we assume they are too. Doesn’t matter how honorable the Starks are, in the world of Ice and fire it’s normal for men to be on top and women to have no rights. So naming not one but two woman Queen of the seven kingdoms and the other Queen of the North is unbelievable. Aside from that, Sansa’s behavior towards Dany was very uncalled for, out of character, and random. Aery’s killing Sansa’s uncle and grandfather, plus the kidnapping of her aunt Lyanna could be why she harbors such deep negative feelings for Targaryens but that was never showed to us. From what we know Sansa wasn’t even born and never met them nor is it implied that she has ever hated the Targaryens or that she even cared. Even Arya was a fan of the Targaryens and their dragons even while knowing what Aerys and Rhaegal did to their family. Sansa then is portrayed like another Cersei, untrusting, “Smart”, and jealous of other woman with power. Not only that but both Sansa and Arya have this weird belief that there is no one to trust except their family, they way they go about this belief is extremely similar to the Lannisters (Cersei and Jamie for example). If I still don’t make any sense I’ll give a small summary of these events. 1. Sansa chooses to trust little finger and marries Ramsay Bolton (which in this case is more Pytir’s fault than Sansa but still she TRUSTS little finger which is stupid) 2. When she’s rescued from the Bolton’s and is constantly questioning Jon’s decisions as king because shes “smart” and knows better. Ahem.. I repeat.. questions Jon Snow.. THE king of the north OPENLY for everyone else to see and takes away the authority he has in doing so. 3. She keeps valuable information of her having the support of the Arryn’s from Jon and only reveals it right in the moment that they’re losing and is pictured as the savior when in fact it was such a stupid move and it was unnecessary to keep that information from her brother who could’ve DIED. 4. Again continues to question Jon for kneeling to Dany, causing discord amongst the northerners and making them question Jon too. 5. Starts going against Dany and making her out as an enemy and villain just because? Even after her oldest brother who is already above her in authority since he’s a man AND a King is there telling her to stop and she continues. (I’m not gonna mention her killing little finger and making him believe her and Arya were enemies that’s just stupid) 6. When she’s told Jon is actually a Targaryen and to keep it a secret and she goes on and TELLS TYRION who then TELLS VARYS who then BETRAYS DANY. Who was pretty stupid because in story Varys has never met Jon so how would he know that he’s better suited than Dany is. Varys was very adamant to supporting Dany, his betrayal just caused more problems for Dany that caused her madness and downfall. And all of that because of SANSA. 7. After all that Sansa refuses to help Dany after she helped them in the battle of Winterfell, which causes more conflict against her and Jon and everybody else for no reason than to just mess with dany!! 8. Sansa votes for Bran to be named King along Tyrion and all of the other brain dead dumb asses because Yk.. Bran can see future and past and yea. 9. She’s named Queen of the North. Anyway I know this really wasn’t the point of the video and I just went into a unnecessary rant but it just angers me so much to see Sansa when she was a genuinely good and interesting characters even here when she just a regular girl with bad luck who was helpless. Such an interesting characters butchered and formed into a stupid “smart” girl boss, queen feminist just because. Okay okay I’m done now
Poor Sansa being put in a position where she is being forced to write a letter calling her father a traitor knowing full well her father would never. But also being told if she doesn't write the letter her father's life could be taken from him. Can you imagine the guilt she must of felt after her father was executed. Some of my favorite characters had such a sad story like Sansa, Cersei, and Melisandre.
if you think she ever truly loved joffrey you’re blind. in the show at least. do we not remember when tyrion saved her from her beating before the king and asked her if she wanted to end the engagement to which she obviously dishonestly replied that she was loyal to her one true king. she was MISERABLE
It is kinda funny how people in this comment section are falling for Cersei's manipulation and think that she actually cares about Sansa or pities her. On the other hand it is sad that Sansa is bashed for her mistake of trusting Cersei, when grown adults in the comment section, who are watching the entire show and know that Cersei is a horrible person are still falling for her lies.
People do not understand that it was taught to Sansa that marrying a prince is the way she can contribute to her family. By failing that she fails her family and she’s doing what she thinks her family would want her to do (which is correct, because if she didn’t, they would’ve kept her as prisoner of war).
Sansa said, "I'll be a Queen just like you." AND THAT is what terrified Cersei the most. As it should, she's an absolute monster. And Sansa, sweet Sansa became the red wolf Queen. Learning from Cersei.
Wow! Sansa was so beautiful n innocent! Easy 2 4get how young these actors were n then realizing what amazing jobs they did in their acting! I hated her being in love w that lipless monster, I couldn't understand how she could not c the demon he was when her younger sister just knew! But that is why the writing is so good n eventually poor Sansa got a front seat 2 the horrors that now surrounded her! Poor little dove!
The way some folks hate her for this scene is just silly. She’s a 13 year old girl whose father never prepared her for politics or even reality outside of Winterfell, and she’s stuck between a rock and a hard place being played by multiple grown adults who all have decades of political experience and manipulations. Ned couldn’t even play the game well enough to protect himself, yet some of yall expect Sansa to just have it all figured out, especially when this girl is deathly afraid that her father or anyone else she knows could be executed.
A lot of people blame Sansa for all the things that happened because she loved Joffery but keep in mind she absolutely had now idea what kind of person he really was, what kind people The Lannisters were
As evil as Cersei is, she definitely felt sympathy for Sansa, she probably saw little girl self on her. Especially when she said "I'll be just like you"
In this scene Cersei was not only using Sansa but also trying to teach her a lesson on how to be quick and ruthless and clever in front of her enemies to save her own life. Cersei knew that Sansa might’ve eventually been executed with her father or tortured and kept as a prisoner by Joffrey if Jamie was harmed or never returned so telling her to swear fealty to Joffrey by making HER write the letter that prosecuted her own father was an act of mercy, despite how fucked up it was. It would’ve been Sansa AND Ned’s head on a pike, but this way it was only Ned. Cersei saw how naive Sansa was and saw her young self in Sansa, she was naive and had grand dreams of wedding a handsome Prince too at one point in her life, only to find that the future she always envisioned and the future she was given was an unhappy one. She KNEW Joffrey would’ve been like Robert, maybe worse, she saved Sansa from a life of misery even if she was cruel in doing so. Becoming cruel and calculating was all Cersei knew how to survive.

Sansa definitely reminded Cersei of herself when she was younger and so excited to marry Robert, thinking she's going to have the best marriage. And deep down Cersei knows Joffrey is a little shit and Sansa will be disappointed just like how she was with Robert.
A lamb surrounded by wolves. The game they played on her
And somehow people still blame Sansa for writing that letter.
Sansa kept her promise. She became a queen just like Cersei in the end
No that happened w Dany.
Sansa got a much happier, better deserved ending.
An independent kingdom, loyal people, she did it.
@@mrinalini9112 yah with backstabbing, oath breaking, lies, manipulation......... just like cersie
@@paigefanatic90 minus the brother banging.
@@paigefanatic90To whom she backstab? She told about Jon's right to the throne Because she cared about her brother and she was right

When Sansa said " l will be a good queen", l bet she thought of what Maggie the Frog told her as a child that a "younger queen would take her place".1
Some people can hate sansa.... But in my opinion sansa is clever girl and just know how to survive difficult situation.... And she was right when she told arya you wouldn't have survied what I been through...
Exactly 💯
Arya lacks the tact and grace which Sansa has, already established in the first episode where she asked "where's the imp" in front of Cersei and Cersei frowned at her, already setting a bad impression during first meeting. Would probably not survive being tormented by Joffrey like Sansa did because I can actually see her retaliating and getting herself killed.
Sansa lacks the street smarts and fighting skills Arya has so she wouldn't have survived living on the streets/ being on the run/ being around criminals/ survived the faceless men like Arya did.
Wow, I never noticed that cersei looks genuinely conflicted.
Baelish defended her, he is such a nice man
Cersei was such an amazing character! I think she genuinely cared for Sansa
"I'll be a queen just like you "reall scared cersey because she knows how terrible queen she was to Robert 😂😂😂😂
This beetch saying little dove sends shivers down my spine
She’s so beautiful 😢
She’s like 13 there you weirdo
Sansa was forced into The Game by the adults around her and her isolation from her family. She said she was a slow learner, but I think she learned very quickly, but processing the mentality took her a minute.
My earbuds glitched and I heard "how can I marry my son? " 🤣
God I feel terrible for sansa, I cant believe three shameless adults emotionally blackmailing a helpless girl
1. Sansa chooses to trust little finger and marries Ramsay Bolton (which in this case is more Pytir’s fault than Sansa but still she TRUSTS little finger which is stupid)
(I’m not gonna mention her killing little finger and making him believe her and Arya were enemies that’s just stupid)
Okay okay I’m done now
Finally!!! Someone's speaking out facts!!!!!!
"Just like me???"
I am dead. 😂
“I’ll be a queen just like you”
Cersei’s like 😟 anything but that
Poor Sansa being put in a position where she is being forced to write a letter calling her father a traitor knowing full well her father would never. But also being told if she doesn't write the letter her father's life could be taken from him. Can you imagine the guilt she must of felt after her father was executed. Some of my favorite characters had such a sad story like Sansa, Cersei, and Melisandre.
Bunch of weirdos in these comments talking about Cerseis heart. Where? This is literally pure manipulation of a child with no options.
😂
Sad to her.. alone in the palace full of traitor to her father..
I can't believe sansa really thought little finger loved her 💀
if you think she ever truly loved joffrey you’re blind. in the show at least. do we not remember when tyrion saved her from her beating before the king and asked her if she wanted to end the engagement to which she obviously dishonestly replied that she was loyal to her one true king. she was MISERABLE
We grow through hard lessons. A life of comfort teaches you nothing.
People do not understand that it was taught to Sansa that marrying a prince is the way she can contribute to her family. By failing that she fails her family and she’s doing what she thinks her family would want her to do (which is correct, because if she didn’t, they would’ve kept her as prisoner of war).
“I’ll go to Kings Landing, but not alone. Call the banners.”
“All of them my lord?”
“All of them.”
“I will be a queen just like you”
and that’s the problem
Sansa said, "I'll be a Queen just like you." AND THAT is what terrified Cersei the most. As it should, she's an absolute monster.
And Sansa, sweet Sansa became the red wolf Queen. Learning from Cersei.
“I don’t want someone brave, and gentle, and strong, I want him!!” That shit still makes me laugh to this day😂
Poor little dove!
sansa is my fav
And in a few years, she "hatches" the justice brought to LittleFinger & Ramsay.
good wife like you!🤣
The "just like you" part must've stuck with Cersei, because she clearly knows she shouldn't allow Sansa to be like her
She is 13 for gods sakes 😢 how traumatic it was 😢 poor child
"A queen just like you"
Cersie 'oh hell no. I wouldn't wish that on my son'
A lot of people blame Sansa for all the things that happened because she loved Joffery but keep in mind she absolutely had now idea what kind of person he really was, what kind people The Lannisters were
"what's his name" got me😂😂
Grand Maester Pycelle had it right: in 10 years Sansa hatched the treason of Queen of the North!
That letter lead to the death of Littlefinger
They gaslighted her well.
And imagine Cerseis feelings when she thought Sansa helped kill Joffrey
Many people don't get this scene. Sansa is actually really Smart in this scene. She needed to pretend to be loyal to survive
Read the title as “How could you allow Santa to marry my son” expected some strange edit
Cersai's conniving ass. Good character but it was satisfying seeing her get what she deserved.
God, this actress is great. Sansa trusted Cersei...
She did eventually hatch - alittle late but - hatched well..
It's spelled Cersei Not Cercei.
no it's spelled bitch...BITCH
@@newawinikerei8933 Well can't argue with that 100% true lol 😆
As evil as Cersei is, she definitely felt sympathy for Sansa, she probably saw little girl self on her. Especially when she said "I'll be just like you"
notice how cersei didn’t say Robb’s name 🧐 maybe she feels some guilt about screwing over the family who named their first son after her late husband
Just like you 😂🤣
okay i’ll rewatch GoT again
cersei looking at sansa like "jebus chrystler girl, i was trying to give you an out, wat even, this is what i get for being nice, kk"
How nice of Cersei to give Sansa another chance. She is really a benevolent queen.
The actress did such a good job I hate her unconditionally
"but in 10 years, who knows what treasons she may hatch?"
thank you sir, for your foreshadowing skills. Cercei should have listened to your warnings.
It feels weird watching season 8 and then seeing this and remembering that there was a time Sansa loved Joffrey and wanted to be a Lannister 😅
In the end she became the Queen of Winterfell, and everyone else in that room died.
Exactly! She played the game of thrones and she won 👑
"I won't hatch anything." 🐣 😅😅😅
i really miss the feeling of seeing this show for the first time
In this scene Cersei was not only using Sansa but also trying to teach her a lesson on how to be quick and ruthless and clever in front of her enemies to save her own life.
